Did I enjoy it,maybe at first,I guess I got burned out,we got paid by the hour,I worked all the overtime I could, I enjoyed going in on Saturday morning, by myself, putting vehicles back together, it takes a toll on your body,my advice if you stick with it ,learn everything, everyone wants to paint, I did that too,I enjoyed frame straighting better,didn't get paid what I was worth,I still have probably 40,000 in tools in my garage, I do some on the side, haven't decided yet,also save your money, no one will give a crap when you get older,good luck .

Yo, never thought of that technique. Using those " soft, rubber" on hoods when installing them in order to not damage anything. I usually throw a blanket on the windshield, but this Is way smarter. Thanks for that tip

I did the same thing with the rubber blocks, I was a pack rat with clips, screws,I'm old school, used paint paddles to block with,did collision work for over 40yrs, been the painter, spent the last 25yrs doing frames,had a heart attack and bypass surgery in june of 2021,called it quits.

Wow, that’s incredible! Did you enjoy your time doing collision work did you like what you did? I first started at a Maaco learning under the oldest body man at the shop and moved on to a dealership that I’m at now. I’ve since learned how to paint… wanting to switch to paint full time. Thanks for watching my video and commenting. My respect to you and your hustle towards body work, all the years you did it. Definitely not an easy job… -Garrett

“Sandy sticks” lol, files? Also, just get a matching socket and use your electric ratchet to raise/lower the top.
@wagonworks8032 жыл бұрын
Yeah! That’s what I said in the video, a drill and socket would be much easier to use to move that top up and down. Thanks for watching my video 🙂

I’m 27yr old machinist here in Inkster but I want to try something else. What would be the best route to get into this profession in the metro Detroit area?
@wagonworks803 Жыл бұрын
Search for an apprenticeship for auto body or paint, which ever you’re more interested in. In my experience, dealerships treat their employees better versus small, independently owned shops. Benefits, insurance, uniforms, paid training and so on. I have more auto body paint videos on my channel, There is a playlist. If you’re interested check them out Thank you for watching my video! By the way I’m in the metro Detroit area as well 🇺🇸 - Garrett / SLA’S GARAGE

Where did you find the tool box

Home Depot, beginning of 2021. It was around $800. It’s a nice box, I love it
