This was fascinating. I know quite a bit about the software side of a computer but I didn’t know some of the information about hard drives like how the controllers work. Fascinating and a great video!!!

Thanks! Glad you learned something. I've got an 8" floppy I've been playing around with the idea of connecting to an Arduino and trying to get it to read/write info. Don't know if I'll ever do it, but would be interesting to try.

The main thing I reuse are the rare earth magnets. The motors are good but too high speed for most uses I have. Good video Harley!

Thanks George. Yeah, I'm the same. The magnets are great but I haven't used any motors yet. I don't think they're too high torque either. I have seen people use them in persistence-of-vision projects.
