Hi, Angel! The Yellowstone River has many fishing access sites that have great gravel beaches. Here is a link to a map showing all the possibilities. I would suggest hunting east of Custer, as the Billings area is pretty populous and gets hunted hard. myfwp.mt.gov/fwpPub/landsMgmt/search.action;jsessionid=04FWXx2_ERbI8rDvUqG55WQSzh1kXhwcfCviUM_t.PWAS002?lmlvId=39753311

24 hours - but when we tried to polish, it turned black again. Stripes came back when it was resoaked - super carbony material, not sure it was hard enough to polish. :)

Hi Katy. Been watching you for a year now. Because Yellowstone River has such diversity of rock, My daughtet and i wondered if you ever see "blood stones"? We are looking for small pieces, black or dark green background with red dots/splashes. We'd like small enough to be comfortable in hand or pocket. They have health stabilizing or curative capacities. We hope you respond. Thanks.
@KatyDidRocks3 жыл бұрын
I sometimes find rocks that are green and red jasper, but I haven't seen the characteristic "blood spots" of blood stone. I'll look, though!
@geraldinesera89153 жыл бұрын
We'd be most grateful. We have seen the Yellowstone River has profoundly more gorgeous and diverse rock than anything we've found as yet in Southern Alberta. We know there is ammonite nearby and my daughters husband is First Nations. They can obtain licenses to seek stone across the Old Man River from an ammonite mine. 2 or 3 FN men have collected ammonite on our riverside. We want to investigate the shoreline, rather than putting our lives in danger atop the cliffs. I saw one of your videos, where you found ammonite on the prairie. Would you recommend that as well here for ammonite sources. Have ypu ever thought of Q and A live podcasts, where we might have interaction with you directly?
