Problem with that theory is that the plants would have more energy had any creature not exist in the first place as all creatures take useful energy and turn it into less useful energy (expelled thermal energy). The energy gained back to the soil upon death is less than what was consumed by eating/drinking.

I would be all for adding soil to its base but a board walk would just encourage more people to go and it isnt really necessary. Maybe a border fence to pretect the soil at its base and a plaque signifying that it is currently the tallest living thing on earth, it may jot always stand but the plaque where it once stood would cement its place in history.

Once you realize the second place tree(s) are pretty much the same height it loses all it's allure. Trees in general are impressive, not just the one that is slightly taller than the rest I guess it's closer than Tasmania though
@cherylmcnutt99056 ай бұрын
America’s redwood trees are amazing! They grow so big and tall, and the wood is very hard! Many years ago, scientists transplanted redwood trees from the US to New Zealand (NZ). Because the growing conditions are so much more pristine in NZ, the redwood trees grow much, much faster, and as a result, produce much softer wood. Fascinating!
@adayinforever5 ай бұрын
Big, tall, hard wood? No wonder why ladies love them. 😎
@peterisawesomeplease5 ай бұрын
This is slightly misleading. All the redwoods have soft wood but its true that in some places the wood is even softer due to faster growth rates.

People, the fact that your presence may hurt the tree does not stop you from finding it and putting it at risk. Somehow thinking, that seeing it will be important, instead of just knowing it is there. The highest mountain you will ever climb is in you. Leave the trees alone.
