WHAT'S IT LIKE OWNING A DOBERMAN PINSCHER

Күн бұрын

Doberman Pinschers are strong yet affectionate dogs that deserve love, too. Just like all dogs, they require a combination of love, training, food, and exercise, as well as grooming and other needs. With a balance of all these factors, you'll be living with a Doberman who'll show you love and protection for life!
The Doberman is made up of breeds like the rottwieler, beauceron, and great dane, with this mix, a protective guard dog’s born, which is the reason why people presume the breed’s vicious! Because of the slightly negative image, breeders have blunted out the very protective temperament of a Doberman, making them friendlier. So you can expect them to still have the protective traits, though less of the aggression if they come by a stranger.

Definitely research reputable breeders. I noticed a Doberman running loose in my subdivision. I caught her and put her in my backyard while we tried to find her owners. Turns out she was almost certainly a breeding dog that had been dumped but she quickly won us over. We weren't planning on getting a dog but are so glad she found us.

Fact #5 Dobermans were the FIRST dogs bred to guard human beings. Before then, all guard/working dogs were bred to protect livestock or property. That's what makes them different when it comes to their interactions with humans besides them being the biggest babies of all dogs to their owners.

Absolutely fantastic video. Just what people need when choosing a dog. We had a Doberman when I was about 6 years old, I'm now 48 and still miss her. They really are in tune with their owners and it is like having another child, a smart child. Never a dull moment and always a bundle of laughs. My father changed the interior door handles to ball handles because she could open doors. It didn't prevent her from learning how to open that type of handle. Super clever dog. If they watch you do something, they can learn it. She even sat on the sofa with us, feet on the floor, butt on the sofa. OMG, I could go on and on.

I read once in a book about dog training that Dobermans sometimes have a trait that's not what you really want, and you have to train it out of them. Rather than bark they will bait you in and ambush you. What you typically want with an alarm dog or house, or junk yard guard is for them to be an intimidating presence that keeps people from coming in. You want them to bark and threaten not hide in the shadows and wait for you to get in so they can ambush. You may want to train them to be alarm dogs.

Hi : I noticed the dogs were slipping a fair amount on the smooth floors - This cud lead to injury specially as they age. Perhaps their nails need trimming - Moisturising their paws often too may help.

My amstaff is only six months old but so far she is very intelligent very playful quite bitey understands a verbal correction since day one very friendly with everyone I would say they’re Worse then a labrador very affectionate I haven’t found that she Hass to be near me but she will follow me around the farm when we are going on a walk she will always stick around me and I noticed she will look back at me if she’s going off with one of our other dogs we have a 9 year old powder puff 6 year old Fox terrier mix and a 1 year old miniature Chihuahua he is the only boy and Bella’s (my AmStaff) Best friend. if I’m on the sofa She will be on the floor next to me and if I’ve gone away for an hour and I come back to her she will be very happy and excited, She will definitely alert bark but we have other dogs to help her with that and she’s quite lazy if she’s laying down and you call her she will most likely not come unless she knows it’s training time but I need to do a lot more work with her she loves carrying things she’s getting quite good with other dogs And very good with humans very brave it is hard to scare her socializing her has been a piece of cake And this is my first proper dog I am very happy with her. I think the vizsla is the type of lapdog that the Doberman is

Do you find that by having two dobermann’s, they will be less focused on the owner and form less of a bond??? Are they too distracted by each other?
@shaniceervin1465
@shaniceervin1465 2 жыл бұрын
If you get 2 puppies at the same time you will have that issue. It’s best to raise one puppy at a time or you will find that your dog becomes doggy. They seek attention from other dogs instead of you. When they are older it doesn’t matter as much because by then you should have a strong bond with your dog.

When I was a kid we had a lovely red and rust dobie - he was a giant derp sweetheart - he was a huge dope. He loved everybody though he was very good w/his protective behavior (he’d place himself between me and older persons he didn’t know, particularly men, when I was a kid - but he never behaved aggressively or acted out)

In the canine world, it is often the size of the fight in a dog rather than the size of the dog in the fight. Think of a Doberman as a 6'9" Good Time Charlie until it is "Go Time" then he is your worst-case scenario
