I really enjoyed this. I was in the military and went through similar stuff in the beginning, so it's fun to hear about someone else's experiences and compare them to my own. It's strange, but as much as it sucks while you're going through it, those experiences became some of my fondest memories. I'd never want to go back through it, but I'm so glad I experienced it and can look back on it.

You wanna go to the military, but not military school. Military is literally easier to be at than military school. What you want is lots and lots of exercise and socialization. There might be certain boarding schools that you can get that from but be careful of which one you pick, because information isn't easy to obtain about them! You might be better off just finding some way to practically live with your friends and to physical activity with them if that doesn't work out.

I actually would love to hear a part 2 to this. I went to something similar but it was a bit less strict. It was still really hard, though. The same sorta no privileges until you earn them much later on, ask to do everything, lots of physical work, no talking to others unless there are specific circumstances, very strict rules and major punishment, etc. Why did you even get sent there if you don't mind me asking?

Most of the faculty officers I felt were a little bit sociopathic but LTC Garrett was a real sweetheart.

Should have just disobeyed EVERY single rule you were given and got kicked out. Walking on the right side, hugging corners, asking permission to eat, putting a knife to your chest and being punished if it fell, being denigrated and humiliated and treated like garbage... I also webt to nmmi, it wasnt to bad but man being forced to watch a 3hr football game nearly every saturday really sucked. And if you get a higher ranking cadet officer. to hate you... welp you are almost guranteed to fail the FRI if they are chosen to inspect you and failing =16 penalty tours kinda unfair how some kids abuse their rank and thats the reason I left

I have no idea why teaching your kids to worship authority at all costs is a good lesson for them in life. If you're in military, sure, but if you're gonna be an ordinary human being, you cannot trust authority so much and rely of them for every decision to that extreme.
