This is my brief drive and owners thoughts on my legacy gtb bh5
I've had the legacy twin turbo about a year and thought I'd review my experiences and have a bit of a thrashing.
Will do a separate car review in the future with some dragy pulls too.
Just a note, the speedo is not accurate since the kmh to mph conversion. For some reason it delays and keeps rising or keeps dropping once the speed is stablised.

Cool vid, I've got a 98 GTB BH5, I was surprised to hear you say one of your turbo's is bigger than the other, on the 98 one is 'slightly' larger than the other but I wouldn't even go so far as saying one is bigger, they're pretty much the same. But yes, the valley of death sucks. Mine does this even more annoying thing where if you let the 2nd turbo start spooling but you change up a gear before it starts boosting, the primary turbo will stop boosting for about 5 seconds leaving you with this massive lag in performance until it starts boosting off the primary....

Haha yeah mine does that, if you change gear at around 4200rpm it’s terrible isn’t it. And yeah your right about the size, ones bigger but only by a tiny bit. I was surprised to be honest how similar they were

Looks amazing! I know a guy who had 160 out of a white gtb aswell really want one of these! Had a Subaru Forester s turbo manual and rust killed it subframe fell off at the back was only £1500 with a years ticket only got 10 months out it want another Subaru asap

@@InitialB no fuckin way you had one theres like none left ! Burns a fair amount of oil no smoke used about a litre in 750 miles only 88k miles mechanic told me engines fine and his b20crv is the same on oil

And here I sit looking at my 02 outback 2.5 5spd wishing...just wishing lmao. I also have an 06 legacy gt that's upgraded with larger turbo, larger fuel pump, larger injectors, hollowed cats with 02 sensor mod downstream and other goodies but it's probably only pushing 315 or so but Idk. I just love the look of your gtb e tune tho and had never heard of this model until last night. I gotta get one, it zips! It makes me feel you've gutted it but nope...that thing is quick and white is what I would want it in as well. White just cleans up so good and doesn't show swirl marks or scratches. Thanks for the upload! Also, you said you paid 5k for it and curious if that was in pounds or what cause if it was usd you got it for a steal!

Yeah it was 5000gbp, the legacy really is good. I’ve spent about 9000 on it since this video though and That pains me haha. But Im not going to give up on it since it was my fault it let go eventually. Thanks for the compliments on its looks, I also love it. And it’s still modern enough to not be loud inside and ride really nice. Not sure how far into the build series you are but I’m waiting a new engine for it currently. A nicely specced 2.1 stroker

Yeah it's made a decent difference. It's still there though. Depending on your budget I'd look at a single turbo conversion instead. That'll be my future for it

@@InitialB To be honest the main interest of the car is the twin turbo. I have the EJ208 and got the car tune for 94, it is like the 98 in Europe. The VOD is reduced and got around 320hp. You can do the hose thingy and gain 20-30 hp. They are a bit more common in Canada. Paid the car 4000 CAD it is like 2500 euros with 100.000 km and got 150.000 now. They are super cheap in North America but the aftermarket is not amazing.

@@skippylegrandgourou2069 yeah the twin turbo system is really nice way to drive. It spools at 2k and I normally just drive in 4th gear. Half throttle and roll that low turbo boost on.

Stupid question, but does the drivers seat move up and down to adjust the height?

Yes it does mate. Drivers side is electrically adjustable. The base moves up and down and front and rear individually. I wish the wheel was telescopic but its no issue

what is the de cat system? does it give you that boxer rumble

On this model the car has a cat in the manifold and in the centre pipe. This only has the 2nd cat removed with a hayward and Scott Centre pipe. It does have that rumble but slightly different due to Manifold design.

@@GotFaculty haha yes. It was a private sale. Was up for £6000 but had a paint issue on the wings. And a Maf and lambda fault that caused weird running. I still love this car. Hope you enjoy.
