@@TiffanieDavis It can make such a difference. Being able to travel around in Japan, by myself, not speaking/reading the language at 16 gave me the confidence and interest to travel. I figured if I could navigate the trains from Tokyo to Yokohama, I could surely manage Europe!

This was well done with lots of information. I think school takes less time there because there it is actually about educating students where in America it all about making money. Some are even saying the next housing crisis will be student loans/college.
@TiffanieDavis4 жыл бұрын
ALLIE NYC Wow about the possibility of there being a crisis around loans/college! Here the school system is very different as well which I think plays into it! Students go to undergrad for 3 years and then do their masters in two years. Not too many people out here have their MBA though, most do a masters program!

One tip for housing. I know foreigners are much more willing to enjoy the "Parisian life" and would be reluctant to live "outside the city walls", but housing is much cheaper if you go in the suburbs (and no, suburbs =/= ghettos... of course there are some places in the suburbs that are ghettos but it's very heterogenous). Sometimes it can even be faster to go to your workplace/school from some suburbs, than from an appartment that is at the other side of Paris.

I did a summer exchange in France in 2021 after the pandemic canceled my semester exchange in Japan. It was a good experience and made many connections but expensive and too fast paced haha. I enjoyed the active learning style, and connections, as well as traveling to other europe countries but it may not be for me. good experience though. I hope to get my masters in asia within the next year or two. I am in the same position too where I do not want to study again and continue my education but, it gives me more time to figure out what to do and potentially work and gain connections again abroad. I will get work experience first than apply for some international grad schools and scholarships. US grad schools are more expensive.

You made me even more excited to go to school in Grenoble in September! Yay! Did you find it easier to get a job after graduating ? Or did your school at least help make it easier for you in the French job market? I know you still have to do the work. haha

@@TiffanieDavis This is SUCH great feedback and the #1 reason I've been looking into studying abroad. Finding work on my own is just NOT happening. This is great. I started looking into ESSEC's Bschool in 2018 after I visited AUP. Love that you're sharing this experience. Thanks again!

@@TiffanieDavis i think that is the difference between Grande Ecoles and "regular" and cheaper universities in France. There is a CLEAR distinction on them both. Grande Ecole helps you to get a job via their networks and connections while Universities in France are more to gain knowledge and you may be on your own more as far as job hunting. You should do a video with someone who goes to a university and explain the differences.

Hey there! Unfortunately I don’t have much insight on this as I stayed in France after my MBA! I think the best would be to chat with a recruiter/job hunting service in the U.S. to get their perspective on degrees from abroad as it relates to the U.S. workplace.
