So, how did I end up moving to Paris?
After traveling to Italy when I was 16, I made a promise to myself that I would live in Europe before the age of 30. And I made it happen! In today's video I'm sharing the story of what sparked my big move abroad (risks, lessons, setbacks, and all!).

Hey guys! I’m Tiff - a lover of food, travel, and good vibes. After traveling to Italy when I was 16, I made a promise to myself that I would live abroad before I was 30. And I made it happen! In 2017, I tapped out of my #PRgirl lifestyle to pursue an MBA in Paris. Yes, Paris! The timing was all too perfect. Jumping out of my comfort zone and moving to Paris, was the scariest thing that I’ve done in life thus far, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Now that I’m finally settling into life here, I’ve decided to refocus some of my energy on a project that I’ve been trying (and failing) to launch for a while - my KZbin channel! This channel is my outlet for sharing more about my life abroad and the life lessons learned along the way.
________
Today’s video is all about how I moved to paris, how i ended up in paris, why I moved to paris, story of why I moved abroad, reason why I moved to paris, reason why I moved abroad, american who moved to paris, american who moved abroad, american who lives in paris, african american who moved to paris, african american who moved abroad, how did I end up moving to paris, american living abroad, african american living abroad, paris vlogger

In 2008, I was literally sitting in my house in North Carolina, unemployed, asking God what was I going to do next. My phone rang and it was a job recruiter in South Korea. I applied for the job as a joke knowing nothing would come from it. Well, I’ve been a happy ex-pat since November 2008.

Can I just say this entire video brought tears to my eyes! Whew!!! I sent this to my daughter who talks non-stop about moving to Paris one day. I took her for her 25th birthday and once we arrived, she said I feel at home, this just confirms this is where I am supposed to be mom. That made me smile. As for you, I love your energy and enthusiasm. I love seeing young people going after what they believe in. I have manifested quite a few things in my life, including moving to San Francisco which is where I am currently living. It's so surreal when your dreams turn into a reality. Keep dreaming big baby girl and keep sharing your stories, you're such an inspiration to others!

My 20’s was all about travelling and meeting new people. Now in my 30’s, I’m a mom of a little girl and pregnant with our 2nd. I love that I had that time to explore different countries & cultures. I feel that I now will broaden my children’s minds with my experiences! God is good! I’m now living my 2nd part of my dream... being a mom 💕 I don’t know you but I’m happy you’re living your dream! OMG. You're a phenomenal storyteller. You didn't lose my attention for 1 second. I love that you so effectively hit the most impactful points of the story and that you're so aware of what that whole journey was ultimately about for you. I KNOW this video was for me (among the other people who feel the same way) so THANK YOU for sharing!! I almost shouted when I read "when you take the leap, the net appears"...you have no idea how timely this is, but I'm sure you can imagine. Anyway, merci encore. I will make my own move to Paris real. Finally. It will take some pushing through fear (but I've done this before with a quick move to NYC not knowing a soul, after I got an unexpected acceptance to grad school), so I don't doubt for a second that je peux faire ça à Paris aussi. - Blessings to you!!

Honestly, unless you have a job and plan to write on the side, I say this as a Londoner working in the arts, this is a terrible plan!! London is a super expensive city, you would need to have a lot saved up and if you aren't from an EU country (Well, Brexit is going to change all that anyway), can't get a visa to just chill out in London for a year.

Love this video! So happy for you! In college I applied to an internship program in Thailand for the summer. I had briefly talked about it with my mom but she thought I was joking. I didn't tell her I applied until I got accepted and then asked if I could go. Thankfully she said yes and I applied and received scholarships from school to help offset the cost. By far one of the best experiences I've ever had! I went alone with 3 other students I hardly knew and we learned to navigate a country non of us had been to, we didn't know anyone, and we definitely didn't know the language very well.

I was supposed to be in Paris last month but everything was cancelled. So unbeknownst to me, that is how everything started falling into place. Loved hearing your story! I can totally relate to you and the craziness of just following your gut and not planning out 5 or 10 years in advance. About 1 1/2 years ago, I suppose, I felt stuck in the way I was living (Uni, roommates/friends) and just had the feeling I'm not using all my potential or having not the right surroundings to change my way of thinking. I remember, when I was a child, me and my family watched a documentary about the Great Barrier Reef and I just said out loud "One day I will be diving right there". Fast-forward, I ended up looking for study abroad options, in particular states with English as a main language. Australia popped into my mind, because I knew that I would never fly this long for only vacationing there. I started looking at possible Unis, gathering Information at my hometown University for going abroad, took a language skill test and as simple as that, I was applying for Universities in Australia. As soon as I got the first confirmation, I knew I was on the right path, but wanted to wait for one particular Uni before excepting any other. Well, what can I say, sometimes following your gut and trusting yourself is all you need to do. I got into my first choice of Uni in Australia, went diving TWICE in the Great Barrier Reef and had the best time and experience of my life so far!!

I’d been feeling the UK since middle school. My junior year of HS I went to a college fair with my mom and was browsing colleges in in Florida, NYC...but then I saw a booth with a big British flag hanging from it. I turned to my mom and said, “ma, I’m going there.” She said: “ha, yeah right.” A year and a half later I was at university in London, stood there for 5 years from 18-23 years old. No experience could’ve ever compared to literally growing up and becoming who I am in London. Being an expat is a one of a kind experience.

New subscriber! I have always wanted to live in Paris and honestly seeing someone that looks like me (and is American) taking a leap of faith and doing it is so inspiring! I think I'm still somewhere at the beginning of my story (I'm 24). I have always loved fashion and clothing. I can even remember silly things like when I received a class award of "most likely to be a fashion designer" in 5th grade....but instead of going that route in college, I decided that I wanted to work in the Public relations field and majored in communications (which I loved). However, I eventually realized that I did not want to work in PR and went back and forth with what I thought I was supposed to do. After I graduated I took a job that I grew to dislike (but learned from)...I realized that I do not want to work for anyone and I need to be creative! Now I co-own a wardrobe styling business that my sister and I run together full time! God's timing is amazing and when I look back on my life so far I can see how everything I have done has lined up so well-- but I also know this is the beginning for me! I have only watched 3 of your videos and I am just reignited and excited for what is to come and how it's going to happen. I definitely do not think I just "stumbled" upon your channel but that I was meant to see it :) Thank you

I manifested an early retirement 😀. In my 40’s I would tell any and everyone I spoke with that I will not retire from working a job. I spoke it with confidence and positivity. My son retired me and pays all my expenses 😀

For me, my change came a few years ago. Got my bachelors in business then worked as an accountant for nearly 12 years. I was fed up and looking for something that spoke to me. Applied for an msw program, got in, did great and got my license a few months. Currently running my program in a field that I genuinely enjoy and feel challenged on a regular basis which i love

When I was in my junior year of college as a Criminal Justice major, there was a TEFL program that would come to my campus to have information sessions every summer and fall to see if students would be interested in teaching English overseas. I kept seeing ads for it all over campus and even seen a few pop-ups online so I thought this sounds like something I would be interested in so I decided to go to the information session one evening. I'm glad I did because the people would were there that night including myself we were able to get $200 off for signing up for the program. Thankfully I had just gotten my refund check and had already paid for my textbooks for school so I had money left over to pay for the program. I took the program for three weekends and got my TEFL/TESOL certification. I graduated from college in 2014 and moved back home. At first I was really trying to find a job in my degree but had no luck and then I just started to apply for for any kind of job because I was feeling depressed and stressed out about not having a job or money and it was stressful on my mom so at the end of 2015, I decided to get in touch with recruiters provided by job advisors through my TEFL program. They would send my resume to recruiters in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. I would be doing several Skype interviews over the next few months just to be disappointed and so I decided to try and find recruiters in China and have my resume sent to them. One of the jobs I had interviewed with was for a university in a city that I had never heard of called Chengde in Hebei Province. Right after my interview with a teacher from the school I got a message saying that I got the job and the rest is history. Nearly 5 years later, I have no regrets except that I didn't start sooner. It was scary I'll admit because I had never been this far away from home and it was my first time ever getting on an airplane but I'm so glad I took the chance.

Follow your gut. God is speaking to you. I attest that you have to sometimes make decisions that may seem reckless at the time, but they're setting you up for something greater. I'm a lot older now, but when I was young I never questioned the choices that I made. And in the end, they turned out to be right.

Thanks for sharing your story Tiff! Is the framework you used something you’ve created? (The Dream, The Voice, The Test) Curious to hear more P.s. I feel like I also manifested a similar dream without realizing it - When I was in middle school I remember thinking that when I “grow up” I’d like to move to a new city every couple years. So far I’ve been in NYC, London, Shanghai, and now Auckland.

The power of manifestation is real! What a great story. I've manifested many things and situations in my life, some amazing and some scary. My favorite would be my 2 daughters and going to a Coldplay concert in the US (I lived in Mexico at the time I decided on it). I also inadvertently manifested having our house burn down on my quest for minimalism. Yep...manifesting is so powerful! My suggestion is to focus on the end result/outcome and be precise about what you want!
