I've got 3 rescue sight hounds, a greyhound, Lurcher and a whippet, you've never owned a dog until you've owned a sight hound, they're the original dog everything else has been bread from them, they originally came from Ireland hence the Irish wolf hound which is also a sight hound. Dog backwards is God, because they're a gift from God to help you through life.

Wow lucky you that it a fine pack! I bet Miss Nancy would love to chase them. She is infact Irish as well, they really are the most amazing animals not dogs at all I sometimes think very much their own creature! And she has helped me be a better person I am sure.

Thankyou for sharing! This so reminds me of our time with our beautiful black grey Meg. Had to take a small blanket with us whenever we went to a cafe. As soon as it was down on the floor she'd plonk herself on it and fall asleep. And the zoomies in the long grass - hahaha bless! Such loving, faithful and sweet dogs. Enjoy every second - wish ours was still with us 😢

Your hound is gorgeous. We had two ex-racing greyhounds who have gone over the Rainbow Bridge, after that, we got two galgos from Spain. These dogs are so beautiful and are absolutely no trouble to have. They have an ability to make you a better person.

That’s lovely, I absolutely adore galgos also. They are such sweet dogs treated in an unimaginably awful way, giving them a loving home is a wonderful thing! Nancy has made me a better person you are right, they are so unassuming and wonderful.

@@missnancysdayoff Yeah, as as mortgage free homeowner, I hate how successive governments have failed to build enough housing, leading house prices outstripping wages and leading to a full return to the Victorian environment of a landowning class, and a tenant class. It's obscene. It sows the seeds of conflict. 😡 I guess that I'm railing against cheesy x000 sub special vids - YTers trying too hard and making prats of themselves. I've noticed that pros that I've watched from early on, like Hannah Lee Duggan & Martijn Doolaard just mention it in passing, which is cool 😎

Oh Miss Nancy you are adorable ❤, shame they get overlooked in the rescue homes they make lovely pets, i rescued a lurcher pup he was a good sleeper hated water so no walkies in the rain his choice😂 oh yes they do pinch food ,in my case the cats food !😊

They look like wonderful companions. My main concern is their sight-hound instinct to chase other creatures is very powerful , so allowing them off-leash can be risky.

They really are glorious creatures 😊 Speaking from my own experiences meeting dogs of different breeds while out and other greyhounds owners, I don’t personally think they are worse than other breeds really as all dogs are essentially predators, some have a high prey drive and some low depending on the individual dog. There’s no doubt that sighthounds can go further faster and potentially do damage so definitely all needs managing, they are so worth it though!

People do not realize they are very good apartment dogs. My dog looks exactly like the one on here.. mine sleeps with her eyes open and she does not like to run ! My previous greyhound ran around my trampoline and bsically had a track that was lower than the grass.

LOL my bull headed dog (not greyhound) would have NO problem smashing the gate open. LOL. She can but open heavy apartment fire proof doors as long as they open forward. LOL. I will have to remember this when I get a greyhound. LOL. I can’t see how it’s good for my girls face, but she shows zero issue. :P Basset hound/bull terrier mix. LOL

How did you train her recall so well. I'm planning on getting a greyhound but one thing that's still making me consider it is that their recall isn't good as they are hunting dogs.

I think with a greyhound it’s just about taking plenty of time to do it and building up a really strong bond with them before you start letting them off, then they will want to stay near you 😍 I actually don’t find them to be worse in general at trying to hunt than any other breeds seems to depend on the individual, and I’ve found lots of places that seem to work well with her off lead. They really are worth it ☺️ There is a rescue charity Called Forever Hounds Trust that has some really good info sheets on there website including how to train the recall in sight hounds which I’d recommend .

It can be hard at first when they are new and scared (I found it really hard) but once you get through it giving them love and time, you get their trust in return and it’s so beautiful. ❤️🥰

Nel 2016 avevo deciso di fare una adozione consapevole e ho iniziato a cercare nel mondo dei galgos, perché una coppia di amici ne avevano una, spaventata e poco socievole con gli estranei. Essendo a casa ho deciso per Brenda, descritta come timida . Malgrado tutti i suoi problemi di paura per tutto e tutti per me è stata una scoperta meravigliosa e lo è tuttora che ha quasi 11 anni. Quando vorrai venire in Italia , noi ti aspettiamo. 😘
