@tillie_brn Жыл бұрын
I'm 100% a satisficer, but I wouldn't necessarily say it makes me a happier person. It's not natural for me to get out of my comfort zone so I have to force myself to try out new things that could enrich my life. If us satisficers are not careful we can end up close minded and scared of taking risks.

I randomly came across your channel talking about my severe astigmatism and myopia, I totally understand Paul when he says there’s levels to being blind, I’m obviously more full sighted. It’s so irritating people don’t seem to get that I’m fine driving during the day but not at night. I know Paul can’t drive but what would he tell his friends if they just didn’t get it?
@JWildberry11 ай бұрын
I would say "I have an eye condition that makes me night blind, but my eyesight is good in daylight." I'm not blind, but I have Autism, and I have learned that explaining my symptoms accurately doesn't work. You need to paint a simple and relatable picture for them, even if it's not 100% correct. Even though night blindness is something else, most people won't know/question it.

I’m definitely a satisficer. I operate in such a way that I don’t even have to look at menus when I go to restaurants anymore and my family automatically knows what I want from most fast food places. I also read the same books at least three times before I even consider getting rid of them and stick to the same songs by the same band. Don’t even get me started on how many movies I can recite the whole script of because I’ve seen them so many times. It drives my cousin crazy because I don’t want to try anything new😂

Guys you are just great I really love you. You make my day. I'm more like Paul a satisficer.
@maxima3572 Жыл бұрын
Maximizers vs satisficers are like AC and DC current. AC has higher highs but lower lows, cycling with every single new moment. But DC is stable, a positive that barely changes. It might not be as high a high but its consistent. Theres virtue to both. Knowing what you like and being able to count on it is stable, calm, monotonous and repetitive. Experimenting and trying new things leads to new experiences, moments of elation, periods of deep uncomfort and a turbulent life. A balance of both is always good but either way the important thing is that you're happy living your life one way or the other
@thetherrannative Жыл бұрын
I am one hundred percent a Satisficer. Restaurants may as well only serve one dish, and I listen to the same two hundred songs on shuffle for _months_ before I start cycling them with new ones. I am most comfortable with the familiar, and I am okay with that.
