True! And I imagine how it'll work: We have a river in our farm that separates the land in 4 chunks, so I imagine the carpenter shop will add bridges for us to access them.

There's supposed to be 4 more merchants added to the Saturday Market, so fixing the lighthouse could be what facilitates their arrival. I've seen a lot of people call the building in town with the bell a church, so if that's the case, maybe you'll have to fix it up before you can get married or something.

I know what's above the stairs in the western ruins! In a heart event with Eiland, he takes you to go look for the next piece of dragon armor. It shows your character and him digging around the western ruins and above the area with the staircase - there's a [SPOILERS AHEAD] dragon priestess statue up there! Not sure what it's for though. After the cutscene, it still remains inaccessible though. So I'm sure the devs overlooked the fact that you can't actually get there in game yet...

replayability is a big factor in whether or not i like a game, personally. For example, although Passpartout 2 is far more expansive than P 1, i don't want to play it again because it's purely story driven, and the artmaking is just within those confines. Passpartout 1 however is very replayable! Figuring out the "art" scoring system and trying to develop different styles for different endings actually means you get way more playtime out of a seemingly smaller game! I'm hoping that Fields of Mistria doesn't simply feel like the same slog over and over (idk why Stardew doesn't because it totally is, I'm a wimp who always focuses on farming) and instead presents a fun experience each time

Between just the furniture items and animal colours alone, this game looks like a completionist's nightmare and dream come true at the same time. I can't wait for full release. There are definitely some things I'm hoping for too, like extra rooms for your house like you mentioned. But even if we don't get things like that with the full release, this already looks completely worth it.

I am around week 2 of fall year 1 and so far my only complaints have been the run back time from one side of the map to the farm house and the never ending plague of sticks and stones encroaching on my farmhouse daily. Leveling an unlocking perks is a major feature I am enjoying.

I love to see how different people other through games differently. I've been playing for a little while now and I'm in early Fall. I heavily prioritized the mines and town upgrades, so I hit my first progression wall in early summer when I reached mine level 60. Then I finished the inn upgrade on Fall 2. On the other hand, I have barely touched ranching, fishing, or decorating. Since the inn upgrade I've had more available funds so I'm buying up every recipe and cosmetic I can now. I'm probably going to focus on ranching/fishing more through year 2.

Same here. I’ve reached the current last floor of the mines. Mining was just so satisfying 🙂‍↕️ next i’ll start to breed the animals and start decorating my farm. I’ll probably just do my farm in Stardew tho 😂

Yeah I don't decorate, so the only still that isn't maxed out for me is carpentry. I'm on year 3 just because I've been breeding animals so much.

With the lighthouse, I feel like there will be a boat aspect. Also considering there are fish swimming in places your rod would never reach, and that cave that you can swim to.

My theory for the lighthouse is it would unlock access to the boat on the dock, since there are fishes / diving spots in the whole ocean area and swimming in water is kinda slow

For the animals to get Tier 6 you can have two Tier 5 animals mate during each season! Each animal has a special seasonal color! I just got my first Tier 6 Winter Chicken with a red/white variation update: winter chicken has a Santa hat! spring cow comes with a summer straw hat and capybara gets an umbrella hat! once unlocked you can equip the hats to specified animals.

It's only a chance when you breed two level 5, so you just have to be persistent. Once you've got a level 6, it becomes much easier. A lot of the summer animals have sunglasses, and a lot of the spring animals have little flower crowns. Once you unlock a hat through a seasonal animal, you can put it on any animal! I've been having a lot of fun with it.

I have firmly been in the "wait until it is out of EA" camp for years now. There are just so many options these days that there's no need to get a game now when if I wait it will be better. I would only buy a game in early access to help support it. The only Early Access game I can think of at the moment that is worth getting to play right now would be Project Zomboid. But that is because listing it as EA at this stage is a bit of a misnomer, game is basically feature complete.

(I still bought it to support the creators, although they seem to be doing quite well as it is!) I fully avoid early access because often, in the past I've never liked the end direction of games I though would be good. This one however I totally was looking for something like it and I'm actually saying, EA is worth it. I've got like 60+ hours in already despite being finished with almost all content (aside from the breeding chore). Can't wait for the fall update! (I also get burned out on EA before full release, but this game is just fun.)

Actually, you can kinda see whats behind western ruins staircase, if you get a 4-heart cutscene with Eiland. There's a woman blessings statue, a bit bigger than the ones you can get sometimes in the mines

The building in town with the bell has me thinking it is a church or a chapel or maybe even a town hall with a bell where you can get your marriage license/ other things? Because marriage is not available in early access, it would make sense that you don't have access to this build yet. At least, that's my theory😊

the quest board does eventually run out of quests to do. from checking it almost every day since the start of the game, i think i only had 3 quests in total for fall year 2 and 0 new quests in winter year 2. the few quests i got in general during year two were for a handful of cooking recipes and then nothing else, no other quests with minor rewards like flowers you would occasionally get from the kids.

Honestly I'm kind of floored at how much there is in the game already. I was planning to play through the first spring or so and figured I'd start seeing the limits then. As it is, I'm almost through the first year and feel like I could spend another year just turtling up on my farm, breeding for different animal colors, and collecting the museum items I missed the first go around. In fact, I might still do that.

Those four animal colors at the bottoms of the lists ARE accessible, some of them at least. [Spoilers below for how] You need to breed two Tier 5 animals during each season for a chance at special seasonal variants :) As far as I'm aware, the seasonal Chicken variants are available. I haven't gotten tier 5 with my other animals yet so I haven't had the chance to see if they have their variants yet, but it's probably possible.

I think it should be noted the farming feels a little dry . most the perk unlocked by it dont really seem to help that much. an example is the perk that give a chance to water a spot, when planting seeds, does not really help if you charge up your watering can. i do wonder if they will overhaul the farming cause it seem so empty compared to ranching.

The spell menu UI has room for fewer than five spells, with a potential fifth spell being cut off. The boxes are so spacious that the devs could cut each of them in half vertically and easily fit nine spells on the screen, and setting up a scroll bar for only one and a half more spells seems very excessive. I think it's clearly designed to handle a large number of spells, so having 10+ spells in the final release seems like a very reasonable prediction. (And if the game is a hit, I'd expect plenty more in future updates.)
