I'd say offensively attributes. Defensively badges. Ex. I can make a 6'6 with 77 block and get less blocks and better animations with a 6'7 with 77 block because of Anchor badge..

Tutes, love your videos man. I have a suggestion that I feel like could be a HUGE addition to your channel. I think you should start a series in which you test out different motion styles NOT for just their “speed”, but their unique animations and benefits, too! Motion styles affect your rebounding, blocking, loose balls, and defensive stance (some are great corner lock styles, and others are better for on-ball defense). Nobody is making any videos on these unique benefits within the styles and they can GREATLY boost how good you are within your specific playstyle. Like for example, if you’re a shot blocker and you’re using a motion style purely because it’s “quick”, you might be missing out on a motion style that *may be a tiny bit slower* but has access to WAYYY better shot blocking animations. And since no one tests them we don’t know what styles are good for what and it’s tough because everyone just wants something “fast” 🥲🙃 Dennis Rodman turned my Triple-Double PG build up a level. It’s 6’8 at the PG position and averages 10rpg. First few games I slapped Rodman on I had back-to-back 20+ Reb games. Feels a LOT better getting rebounds from directly under the rim thanks to his unique vertical rebounding animations.

A simple way to put it into perspective is would you rather have 99 everything but only bronze badges or 70 everything and all hall of fame badges? (Both builds get all animations) The answer is easy, all badges hall of fame. It would be the best build in the game by a large margin. The only reason attributes matter is for animation and badge requirements. I’d rather have a 70 speed and hall of fame speed booster over 99 speed and bronze speed booster. And there’s a very easy way to test this. Make a new build without rebirth and max the attributes. Try playing with no badges or bronze badges and you suck. But as you unlock higher badges your build immediately gets better.

@@KingAfrica4 you have either literally never played 2k in your life or just don’t know how the game works. No one goes into the game and says “just wait until I get my attributes” when they make a new build, they say “I need my badges”. You know we have played 2k’s where there was no animation thresholds needed for badges right? And guess what, a build with gold clamps and 75 P would do way better than a 99 P defense build with bronze clamps. Same with steals blocks and intimidator. You could have trash defensive stats but if you put on gold badges you’d be a lock. Hell a meta strat in 22 was to max out your offensive badges with no defense then just grind out the extra badges and slap them on defense. You’d have a 70P defense but gold Intimidator/clamps/interceptor and play lock down defense lol

Did you miss the latest builder work around where everyone just discovered speed with ball is entirely useless lol now we got dude with no speed with ball still moving at the same damn speed as someone with a 92 speed with ball in the half court. The only reason to raise speed with ball is for blow bys and speed booster badge and animations. Without that you could run point with no SWB if it didn’t force you to raise it when you raised other attributes. Badges increase the probability of successful animations as well as unlocking animations. They are the core mechanic of the game to make you do things. 99 post control but no drop stepper? You’d never get a successful drop step. Put on hall of fame drop step and you will suddenly start getting successful drop steps all the time. 99 layup but no whistle? You won’t get foul calls. Put on hall of fame whistle and get nearly a 30% boost to your foul calls. Trying to drive by someone? Guess what dictates your success? Your badges. The higher the level, the more likely you are to win physical blow bys or activate stun animations. The only purpose of attributes is to unlock those badges and animations. When 2k made the builder where people could do what they wanted with no pie charts it immediately broke the game because everyone just ignored all the attributes and just maxed out what they needed for the best badges. You had dudes with 25 stamina and 25 interior dribbling spamming like kyrie and guarding the rim like prime ben wallance. It’s why now every attribute is so connected and badges have thresholds, it’s the only way they can force some balance in the builder where attributes are mostly meaningless. If they didn’t give you all bronze badges automatically you could easily test this.

@@cheryltunt6934 congrats on not understanding how the game works. SWB isn't useless it's just that some moves don't require SWB. Also you can test this yourself by creating a player in the settings and going to practice. 99 in every stat is orders of magnitude better than having the badges and not the corresponding stats. Shoot, drive, play defense, pass, and yes even post up. You simply don't understand how the game works and take what KZbinrs say at face value without actually playing and learning the game yourself.

Its because of the badges. For example gold or HOF open looks is way better than silver. Plus its easier to get those badges and good jumpshot animations with a higher middy

Make a build with 99 block and bronze anchor and see how you do. Then get anchor to hall of fame and compare it. The badges clearly make the difference and always have. Works for literally anything, even dribbling, shooting and finishing.

Do a test on chasedown. Is it worth it going from 92 blk to 94 blj for chasedown hof? Is it worth it going from 87 blk to 92 blk for gold anchor?

Ive used all and the higher the better. I will say, 94 for chase on HOF wasn't amazing. Gold chasedown is the highest I'd recommend. I do like 92 block for gold anchor as well

@@damazsta If you want to be more defensive, I'd recommend a 92 block with 77 interior for the gild anchor. Harder to get dunked on. If you don't care about it as much, I'd say go 87 block

2K back in the day was more attribute dependent. Now 2K is more badge dependent. The attributes are only there to reach badge threshold. Without the badges, the attributes does very little to no effect to your player. A 99 three or mid-range with no badges is as equivalent as still having a 25 three or mid-range once contested. A 65 driving dunk with HOF Posterizer with beat out a 99 driving dunk with no Posterizer all because of the badge and the tier level of the badge. The higher the badge, the better benefit you’ll receive.
