Yes and minions are generally proactive whereas spells are mostly reactive

The thing is,the no-minion deck is way better than a spell-only deck. No-minion decks were supported,not spell-only. Hunter had best support for it with the weapon and a hero card,which are off-limits. Thats why i think spells lost - they kinda need other cards to get the decs going@@joshsmith8715

I think minions are better because they can enable more archetypes. The proactive nature of minions makes them more versatile especially when it comes to battlecries.

I think doing spells vs mininons with both being able to use wapons and locations would be cool, cause both enable both a lot more and a lot of spells are printed with this in mind too (look at weapon rogue), so hopefully u do another vid with minions vs spells both allowed to use locations and weapons :D

Yes! And in general I would love to see more grudge match versions of some of these stipulation videos where they use their experience from last time to cook a little harder for videos where they feel like they missed a trick that would have represented their side better.

I think for sure that long form content has definitely been on the rise this year and the last couple. People seem to really enjoy more watching them like tv or a movie, grab some food and throw on a yt vid. Also I think post covid we've really leaned into having something play in the background while we do work or chores or just relax. Me personally have always loved longer videos, specially retrospectives and such.

Rarran the main reason longer vidoes do well, is because a lot of people will have your videos on in the background. Witch means you will get amazing watch time on them. KZbin loves good watch time so they get promoted more in the algorithm

Hey raran, I'm a community event organizer in one of the largest unofficial hearthstone discord servers. Some time about 2 years ago we hosted a tournament where the only cards allowed in your deck had to have some kind of random effect to it. (Wizbang and zayle banned). I think if you did the same or similar concept for one of these deck restrictions videos against Eddie that would be super fun to watch. The tournament was super fun so i imagine the 2 of you would have a blast

5:00 i think no just for the fact hunter now needs more then "kill a guy with steps" for every card in your deck or needs to do damage or be of use when u have 3 or less cards or even has a top deck (but huntermark in control will have 100% been a 1 off if not 2 and highlander midrange will have used it and maybe even just midrange if the draw is good)

I associate the longer form videos as deep dives on a particular subject the person is passionate about. I think it started with creators like Jon Bois, DefunctLand, Jenny Nicholson, and SummoningSalt. Its fun to listen to someone who is an expert in this tiny niche field that doesn't really have a metric for credentials. We don't need someone with a PhD in Speedrunning to be interviewed. But you have a point that it is replacing TV, because there is a void for this Niche Content, because it is Niche, but also those old cable channels like History Channel, HGTV, Discovery are all reality shows or just veered off into insanity. Discovery channel used to do shows on theme parks and roller coasters. History Channel used to do shows about casinos and poker, and technology surrounding Las Vegas and water reclamation. People want to see that stuff! There is audience, but people arent making it, so KZbin creators are

I think minions or spells can be better depending on the sets that are in the format. No Minion Mage was very good when it was meta, same with Questline Hunter. An all Minion deck probably could be pretty good too, but I feel like all spells has a better chance of being good in general just because of that archetype being specifically supported. Maybe if there was a card that said if you have no spells in your deck do something then only minions could work, if that card was worth running.

I would love to see the video about how much united and stormwind sucked that rarran mentioned towards the end, It was the only year I ever and have ever specifically crafted a deck to counter meta decks (questline mage and warlock). If yall are wondering the deck was divine shield buff paladin with robes of protection, and the plan was to simply draw that card, buff it and win.

As someone who mainly watches Hearthstone now, and plays Magic. Spells are more powerful and interesting. The one-off nature means that balance is easier, stats and effects on a minion factor into what can get made. Creatures win games by being bodies and by the static abilities they have, they do enable combos in that way. Creatures are necessary, spells are more fun/can do more. I think Legendary spells are relatively new and it may be the amount of creatures printed, but it seems creatures have more powerful examples of Legendaries than spells do. Or at least memorable ones.

Spells are way faster, but minions in general are more pro-active. Spells can have huge impact, but very generally, you still want to have a board presence.
