Noticed John Daly sneaking a puff on his cigarette on the very first episode. This certainly is not the first show! WML went through learning curve to become such a very successful show. Love all the episodes.

Sharon B No one claimed this episode to be the first of the series, which debuted on February 2, 1950. Reading comprehension is fundamental.

The first WML? episode to be preserved, after producer Gil Fates discovered that CBS had erased about 100 of them from the years prior.

They would have had kinescopes up till now, there was no video-tape. So CBS must have destroyed and/or trashed them up til now. See,s like there is room for the possibility that some could exist!

Thanks for this info, Gary. I wish Marcus would put it in the description because as times marches on, your comment gets pushed down some.

The Pump Room. I forgot about that. Also need to add she was one of the few celebrities to stump the panel.

Ann Sheridan had the richest most beautiful voice and was SO talented

He shook block's hand, and nobody else's. Also, notice how Daly keeps feeling his arm. 2:28

That was a tasteless ritual anyway, Dorothy looking at their hands, which was soon dropped.

So are many of Bennett Cerf's comments. Often borderline inappropriate.

I read he was a judge in the Miss Universe pageant. Hence his ‘strong interest’.

Does anyone know that John Daly’s Father In Law was Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court Earl Warren?

Roger Propes - Ann Sheridan was beautiful. How sad that she died so young.

Back then to die of that stopped the neighborhood. Now everyone just keeps on going, it’s that common. Let your thoughts work that one out.

Ok, no explain this one. How can you post July 20 and 27, and not post the previous episodes for the same month?

Why is it that only "the eye" gets to be naked in our language? Dorothy never carries anything up 5th avenue in her naked hands, Steve Allen's bread-box is never naked. It's only the eye. Seems rather unfair to me. We should have more nakedity in our lives.
