I test drove one and felt it left a lot to be desired. No heads up display, no extended thigh support for the driver, etc. I was very excited to go see/test drive one and wasn’t very impressed. Waiting for the 2024 Sonata Hybrid to come out and I’ll probably get one of those.

Does it have adjustable power tilt and steering? 8 way adjustable seats for the passenger as well as memory? Does it have heated seats in the back? Extended thigh support? Heads up display? Do the back seats have power down and up? For $50,000 plus markup it should have all that.

Low pros suck on bad roads and should've been a hatchback. Meaty tires would look better on this anyway. Asian cars notorious for bad road noise. How was it compared to German? Love the proportions of it.

Road noise is good for the price. Car confections has sound ratings. It has the common Toyota wind noise at high speeds on the top left of the window.

Americans don’t want to pay so they get the stripped down version. Crown name is not well known by Americans so it will take time for them to accept that this is a luxury car. Eventually maybe US/Canada will get a full version at increased priced.
@bigbuckoramma11 ай бұрын
I feel like the design brief on this car was "What would a Prius look like, if we made it for fat Americans who want SUV's?" Because its just a fat Prius with AWD, and a bunch of SUV buzzwords in its marketing. And i feel like, if they dumbed down the exterior styling, and sold it as a large Prius, it would sell MUCH better than it is. Additionally, up market the interior, slap a Lexus badge on it, and it will command the price they want it to. The real problem is the CROWN badge. Toyota of Japan will NOT put a Lexus badge on a CROWN. And outside of Japan, no one knows the CROWN name or heritage. So unless youre a nerdy JDM car enthusiast, no one knows or appreciats what it is. There are just too many missteps with the CROWN launch in North America. This may turn out to be one of Toyota's biggest blunders in a long time. It has shades of the Ford 500. No one "got it", but slap a Taurus badge on it, dumb the interior down, and suddenly it sold like hotcakes. Like the CROWN, great car, but it's way off target for its intended audience.
@toyotaprius7911 ай бұрын
Other way around. It's the trend of fat, over excess and many of the flaws of new cars - that at best comes with a series-parallel hybrid (Prius style) drivetrain
@bigbuckoramma11 ай бұрын
@@toyotaprius79 that would be true if the interior was not 100% Prius. And the shape is the classic Prius Kammback, trying to be passed off as an SUV. It's literally just a big fat Prius.

The styling of this thing puts it right in the middle of the automotive "uncanny valley" which illicits in me a slight unease. Who is it for? Is it a car or an s u.v? Is it a hatch back? Can you actually see out of those tiny raked windows? Why are its wheels as large as those found on a 19th century wagon? I want to like it but just can't find anything about it that grabs me. It reeks of middle class Boomers with back pain and a pretense to wealth. Maybe that's who it's for? I bet it's well made though and that's a selling point for sure.

Isn't it amazing the automotive manufacturers don't listen to their customers and I'm not talking about this particular vehicle in this days Market everything is SUV driven right well not everyone wants a SUV along comes to try to Crown but the most important thing here is when it all comes down to it there's going to be one auto maker that's going to sell full size Passenger cars in the United States of America I have my bets on FCA but we were wrong the 300 is no longer in production which is sad because the Toyota Avalon went out of production leaving the 300 the crown winner until this vehicle came along
