Thank you for saving Evernote! It's so essential to have ONE place to keep all our notes/thoughts/recipes/ideas/etc and making it electronically searchable. Cuts down on my cognitive load and that to me is the ultimate quality of life feature to have!

I really miss being able to sort notes on Tags, Location, Size, etc. As a veteran Evernote user (mostly Desktop) I am always disappointed when a feature that has been working for a long time is removed for no apparent reason. Removing sorting on Tags has effectively rendered part of my workflow useless. So, please, do consider restoring this feature. Much appreciated.

I just found I can sort by name and note count. That was useful to enable to delete tags without or with few notes.

Agreed! Sorting search results has been broken for a long time. I've made a bug report, but no fix for it yet :-(

You keep chaotic note flows that interconnect in a tag system sort of like you think and that’s how you’re brain processes. I totally get this. It should be a feature for chaotic, nonlinear thinkers. Yes, it was a dynamic, beautiful feature.

Thank you all for the replies. Just to clarify I am referring to reinstalling the Sort By > Tag feature when viewing notes in List Mode. Just by clicking on the column's name you used to be able to sort by the selected column (my point in case the Tags column, but it could be any other). Currently Sort By is limited to Title, Date Created, Date Updated. As you know, you can use a few columns to display.

As a longtime Evernote user with over 12,000 notes, I utilize many of its features and have been pleased to pay for it from the beginning, as long as it receives significant updates. Do you have a document on how your Search works? Is it the same as the original Evernote? I have discovered that some of my searches fail quite regularly if I'm using more than one word, either separately or together.

Still an Evernote fan and semi power user, despite the seemingly constant new bugs introduced by constant work on improvements. But gotta tell you, I'd SO MUCH RATHER read the updates then watch a video -- reading well-structured content is sooooo much faster. I always click on update notifications, and I never ever watch the videos.

But they slice the video into chapters with headings that tell you whether to watch that chapter. Plus you can increase the playback speed or skip bits. Plus you don't get his lovely Italian accent in written documents! 🙂

@@Happycrocheter If you're referring to how it was before Bending Spoons changed everything, that's all gone. It's like we were all used to eating prime rib and now they're serving us pâté. THEY think it's better but nobody asked for it. I don't understand why they have to make the mobile home page so much different than the desktop home page. They should make us feel like we're using the same app on every device.

I'm not sure how search works... whether it looks at the content of notes and how it prioritizes where they appear in the results. However it works, it's not working for me. I can rarely find what I'm looking for. That has driven me to Notion and Obsidian but I much prefer the Evernote interface. Please make search work like Obsidian search. I can always find my notes there.

I contacted support and never got a response: Putting the AI transcribe feature when you hover over any/every image with no way to turn this off is beyond asinine. I love Evernote but man little things like this man WHAT, can we please get a simple option to turn this off, no I dont want to transcribe any of my thousands of screen shots in my data base it's just obnoxious all day everyday

Thank you for the summary and all the nice improvements. One question about LaTeX: are there plans to add the possibility of inline-formulas so that the formula doesn't create a new "content block"? That would be super useful for students like me who want to write summaries etc. that include formulas :) Eg a small formula stays in the line of text, larger formulas or equations go in a separate content block, the way all LaTeX content does now

Request: Can we please have folders with deeper nesting? I understand it breaks with the cute Stacks/Notebooks/Notes metaphor, but it's one of the few remaining frustrations for me to find I can't organize projects with any real complexity. The new Spaces feature looks like it'll help greatly (thank you) but I'd still appreciate greater organizational flexibility. 🙏🏻

Thank you for keeping at making Evernote better! Any chance for getting a left menu redesign at some point? As soon as the number of notebooks hits double digits, it becomes cumbersome to use and navigate, and it just keeps on getting worse from there as more notebooks get added. Also, the way backlinks work could be improved a lot. Take a look at e.g. Amplenote and how backlinks are way more informative there.

I've noticed what I think is a new bug and am not sure how/where to report it. On my iphone when I try to save something to Evernote it won't let me save it to a notebook that's inside my "most used" stack of notebooks. And I cannot successfully search for that notebook by name either. So I end up only being able to save to my default "inbox" notebook, and then have to worry about finding it later (while not on my phone) and moving it to the correct notebook.

I am experiencing an issue with tags in the program: when assigning tags to notes, they are not always saved, and other previously assigned tags on the same note may disappear. When attempting to assign the same tags to a new note, they sometimes attach successfully and sometimes do not. This issue has persisted for the last 3-4 versions. Previously, when this bug occurred, I would delete the problematic tag and create a new one, which temporarily resolved the issue. Now, this method no longer works, and there is a risk of losing notes associated with such tags.

Quick Question for Accountless collaboration: lets say, i sent a note for accountless collab to someone without evernote, and he is finished, doesn´t need access to the note anymore. how do i revoke the access/permission to the note? or can he access it as long as he has the link?

At the moment, the only way to revoke access to a public note is to unpublish it for everyone.

@@evernote ok thanks. i think this should be somehow managed with a "Rights Management" Option. so i.e. i gave the access to the note to 3 People and after the work of 2 of them is done, so i remove the 2 and the third can still access it. (i hope i described it understandable :) )

Feature request: When a person creates a notebook, please give the author the option to, "allow renaming." For us, each notebook is a self-contained discreet project and we frequently need to change or improve the name of the project, and project names are key to the product flowing through the system and archiving. Allowing one of the stakeholders to go ahead and just do it will save some of the bother associated with waiting for the notebook's creator to be available to make the change. Another great feature would be script timing - a command that can be set to time copy according to the user's rate with categories like "VO" or "SOUND" that would que the tool to calculate a total time (TRT=) at the end of a note Thanks! These two things would really move this application forward for content creators. Thanks!

Please note that for the past several weeks, every time I send a link to various people via text message, they are not able to open it because they don’t have an account. I’m not quite sure why that’s the case, but now I have had to resort to making PDFs of my notes and sending them over email. It doesn’t happen to everyone, but to some it is a major frustration. 😢

Please focus on making search better! The more you use EN, the more notes you have to search through. However, search results only show the matching notes instead of showing the exact matching sentences/paragraphs in the note - it makes it very hard to find things. You have to click on every search result, then search inside that note, go to the next note and so on.. Ideally the search results would just become a new temporary note showing the matching text, and internal links to the matching parts - EN already supports these!

With respect to customizing the Mobile launch screen, can you also let us customize the rest of the page i.e. the seven small buttons under the Note and Task big buttons. I only regularly use maybe three or four, and it would be nice to hide the others, and allow us to re-order them. Or if you can't do that, maybe just allow us to re-order the seven buttons and "stack" them...i.e. not have us scroll to the right to tap one of the seven buttons. It would also be nice to make the Note and Task big buttons a little smaller, so that the Scratch Pad better fits all on the screen. Thanks. Keep up the great work!

I'll be happy if I could make a Stack, aka file cabinet when I want to instead of going through every drop-down menu on the app and still unable to locate this elusive feature. If I'm working in an office and need to drop some files off, I go to the cabinet, then to the drawer, then to the folder, and then to whatever sorting order I established. Not being able to make a Stack is not allowing me to make a file cabinet. Now I have a whole folder of failed attempts that are all within the required attributes. And my newest sporadic peeve is not being able to drop a photo or video into the respective location.

Before you add any new features, PLEASE fix the speed problem!!! Evernote became extremely sluggish and does not seem to use local data. My workflow is really messed up. Any search, even by one single tag, now can take 20-30 seconds, sometimes more, when before it was INSTANTANEOUS. NB: my system is extremely fast, 4.8 GHz, 18 CPUs, 128 GB RAM, ultra-fast SSD, so my 30K Notes should not be a problem. The slowdown became really bad sometime this summer, so it's clearly something you changed. Same for opening images, which is a core function I use all the time! Double-clicking images to access them can be excruciating! Some images open immediately in the external viewer from where I can process them, but sometimes they open only after a very long delay, which can be more than a minute. This is ridiculous. I don't know if you quite understand how your users access data in Evernote. Stored images are not just for viewing, but for actual use in documents. When I reference a diagram, I need to actually insert a copy of the diagram in the document I'm writing. None of this should be a problem. It's all about the most basic Evernote functions and it all used to work.
