Love the cubby hole areas off the main road with all the little store fronts and alley ways like a beautiful European village 🤗 I remember my first visits and falling in love with those carolina blue saffire trees I actually was able to locate one and planted it in my yard several years back and it's really a good size to decorate for a 🎄Christmas tree now and has that beautiful silvery blue folliage...reminds me of the mountains that I love.. where I first seen it.. 😊Enjoyed the stroll Thanks Will and Dawn 😊👍

I do miss the old Gatlinburg. My family use to go there every year once or twice. I felt like it was a second home. lol. I don’t go there anymore. It’s changed too much and is too crowded. It doesn’t feel the same. So… it makes me a little sad.

Great video, loved it! I try to go a couple of times a year. Seems like something is different each time. Looks like the Crazy Mason is where the Drunken Donuts used to be? My go to hotel is The Gatlinburg Inn. That said when we go to Dollywood's Halloween festival were staying at the Abby Lodge for something different. Have a good trip on Route 66. Not something I want to do but will enjoy watching you guys make the trip! Stay Safe!!

So good to see you guys back in Gatlinburg today. I also recall that gas station on the corner having been there as long as I can remember also. Miss some of the older places that called it quits, or we’re torn down for progress such as The Burning Bush Restaurant, The Happy Hiker. In the same shopping area, there was even a small laundromat and a shower facility where if you were a hiker/backpacker, you could come into town, wash your clothes, get a hot shower, and go out for a resupply and nice dinner.

I really like gatlinburg , used to go when I was a kid , I’m 40 now and took the wife and kids there at the beginning of august so about 4 weeks ago . It was insanely busy . Eating , parking, anything you wanted to do was a long wait. Next time we go I think I’ll pick a different time of year ..I’m guessing summer is probably the worst time to go

Lots of new stuff since last spring. I’m coming back in November. Ole Dad’s has a decent selection of breakfast biscuits. I stop in there occasionally. Parking is becoming a cost concern, I have started considering that when I book my room.

Man,things sure have changed since I was a kid. Back then there were a lot of Indian stuff at the stores. The real handmade moccasins that didn't have the modern shoe soles. I wore out several pairs of those. I remember a gold jewelry store that you could get real or plated gold jewelry. I always loved the smell of the cigar shop in the mall. I dont know if thats there anymore either. It was busy even way back then but NOTHING like it is now. Y'all must have been there pretty early in the morning doing this video.
