The update to anticipative FX multiprocessing on folder tracks is very welcome! I had to stop using folders several years ago because of the glitching and created a new mix template. Definitely will be testing this feature. Thanks for the video! -chaz

In version 6.80 on the master channel you now have to click clearly to select (highlight the channel) (that is: now you only have to click on the side or top or bottom of the master) ...... that is, if you click on the picmeter area, rms, it does not work as before and it is not very convenient. In version 6.79 it was fine and you could click anywhere on the master channel and it was highlighted.

this is now linked to a preference, as per the changelog *if preference disabled to change track selection when clicking track control panel buttons, do not change track selection when clicking master track meter in the mixer* the preference is Editing behavior -> Mouse -> Mouse click on volume/pan faders and track buttons changes track selection so for this to work the preference needs to be enabled, but of course now you cannot have that without also being able to select tracks by clicking TCP controls which may still be undesirable

When can we get Post Fader FX? I want to monitor my sound POST FADER so I can put it into multi track analyzers/oscilloscopes and compare everything with proper dB/LUFS levels. As it is now, I have to send to yet another track post fader. In the worst case this doubles my track count.

I haven’t updated my reaper yet. Is it now possible to have handscroll default to my horizontal zooming preferences (at edit cursor). It doesn’t seem to work in my current version of reaper.

is there a script that will detect where audio starts in a wav file and place the cursor at that point. So that way i can get track offset times perfectly for sample libraries. Right now what i do is a make a full note in midi, Render track to audio, unlock wav file. Use that special Zoom script to zoom way in on the audio then i turn snap to grid off and place the cursor where the audio begins, then my time in the bottom gives me an offset, if there was a script to detect where sound actually starts in a file would be really awesome to have

Hi Jon! Do you know if they've added an option/action/check box to let Folders behave like VCAs? or if they plan to? It would be a great solution to the FX Send/Return and automation issues we currently have with folders.

is anyone else having an issue with trying to install it? every time i try on chrome i get the message "failed - virus detected" and on firefox it appears to download normally, but when i try to open it from my folder it says the file is missing. i've checked my antivirus, and i've checked my internet properties. if it matters, i'm on 6.35 (downloaded long time ago but didn't touch it bc it was too indimidating for me). i presume it's not the program itself and rather my system but i'm kinda desperate for answers lol

I've not checked the changes properly yet but for me it will probably be "add preference to use shift key to control whether drag and drop of track panel creates a folder" small thing, but a big one for me because I don't like folders

Damn that's helpful I stumbled upon this thing several times. also the one of the folder creation while you are dragging a track ... it solves a lot of swearing moments :-D

@@alexteux6700 Most other daws have a much smoother learning curve. Learned Logic, Cubase, Reason and Ableton before Reaper. Switch to Logic if you want something very straightforward and simple with new updates pretty frequently.

I would argue it's more "usable" and featured than FL's, but obviously less streamlined and approachable.

@@WorldWideBasementVibes for sure. Reaper is the most powerful daw, and is certainly more capable, but man FL just makes it so easy to mess around get midi instruments programmed
