As soon as Karma XPU is production ready we'll be dropping redshift. Unbelievable that RS still has no USD workflow.

Most of these features have been available in other renders for some time. Still no USD. Volumes scatter looks good. would like to see some real time demos.

RS user here with 25 licenses throughout our office for the last five years... and stuck with it. RS is one of the fastest renderers out there, with the worst quality out of the box. It has more limitations than others and the way it cut corners to achieve the speed, hinders quality to a point there is no hack or fix. This is always visible when you compare same scenes with other renderers. Not recommended for heavy and high quality productions.

Could you pls show examples or more detailed info? I'm going to choose a gpu renderer, after quick tests, RS seem more interesting than others, but if there's quality issue then i will rather choose vray gpu. Is there quality problem even if 1st bounce is bruteforce?

@@23rix No need to show examples; there are plenty of comparisons across the internet already. I only speak from experience and frankly it's all down to the production and if you are okay with what you get from the renderer or not. In the office it does fulfill our checklist so we still keep using it. Depends what your standards are and what you consider for yourself "good" quality and whatnot. It's not that is bad, but if your goal is outmost hyper realism, then better steer away from Redshift, or you'll be quite disappointed...

​@@GG-gr2px Ive been using cpu renders for over 20 years, but now it's definitely time to switch to gpu. Last 2 days Ive been testing all gpu renders avaliable for 3dsmax, to choose from, this is obviously not enough for proper tests, so would appreciate for more detailed info what's wrong with quality of RS. Don't believe in comparisons from internet, they are either paid or wrong made. Do you mind of couple of questions? Are there quality issues when 1st bounce is bruteforce? Or both bounces are bruteforce - in this case RS becomes unbiased render and should not have any quality loses, if i understand right. But if it has, it would be pretty interesting to have details pls.

@@23rix Heh... RS and "unbiased" in the same sentence should be a disgrace for all the other renders out there. The lighting treatment in general, the intensity and the falloff, the bounces and the loss of energy, seem so biased in RS that there is a significant difference when you try the same on a renderer like VRay or FStorm for example. This affect materials too, especially glasses. It seems like the trade-off to get the very fast speeds is too much. But, then again, I may be painting a bad picture here and this is not the case. it's just that RS in terms of quality, is a few steps bellow all the other renders out there. In 80% of the cases though you won't notice this, unless your work strive for real world accurate photorealistic renders.

Just downloaded the latest version of redshift available (3.5.12), hoping to test the intel denoiser but could not find it. Do i have to install anything separetly?

All mentioned features already available in cycles/blender for free. but to be fair redshift have good quality out of the box.

now everything is focused on C4D... when it wasn't from maxon it was all for maya and then the others... it's boring to see that they don't put shader tools to speed up the workflow like UE5 OR Blender do.

Everything you saw is in Maya already except OIDN and the new Tiles/Bricks shader which is coming to all the other DCC in the next release in a few weeks. Features are the same across all DCC when it comes to Redshift.

Pretty much everything new been in Cycles for how long?)))) One feature that RS really stands out is out of memory function., but out of the box meh. Used to love RS until one day I updated my GPU and Installed new houdini and realized that I paid 600$ for product I cant even use on any recent version of maya c4d or houdini until I pay 600$ one more time.
