Update second chassis broken after
@sm64515 жыл бұрын
I have had my tenacity DB version for about 2 weeks.I luv the Fuze brushless! The chassis is a bit weak and I have snapped it. I'm going to put a bumper on it like the SCT has. I put the 12t pinion on it and ran it with the 11.1v 3s battery and it tears it up. I'm also getting a heatsink w/fan to see if the motor runs cooler with the 16t pinion and the 3s battery. Overall. decent truck but the chassis design lacks durability. Also, the steering servo needs tweaking and/or replacement.
@AMain_Hobbies5 жыл бұрын
You broke the chassis!? Holy smokes. Other than that, I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the DB. Our Tenacity is the Brushed version so we didn't experience the 3S Brushless power, but I bet it's great! Thanks for sharing Stephen. Let us know if there is anything we can help you with. Thanks. -Brett

Looks like it weakens the frame to have that access port there. I'm not a fan of that at all. Others posted that they've broken multiple frames in a short time. Love the truck, but that kinda scares me towards the ECX Torment 4X4, but that's back ordered for an unannounced period of time right now.

What is the difference on brushlles and brush version? Only the engine and Esc??
@AMain_Hobbies4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is regarding the ESC and motor. Brushless and Brushed are two different technologies used with Brushless being the more efficient and maintenance free option, but also more expensive. -Brett

This explained everything I needed to know. Thank you. I do have one question though. How fast do you think this truck would go if it had a 3900kv brushless motor, 120a ESC, and a 5200mah 3s lipo in it? I'm open to answers from anyone.
@AMain_Hobbies3 жыл бұрын
The Pro version of this truck includes a 130A Brushless ESC and 4-Pole 3150KV 550 Motor, and it is rated for +50MPH on a 3S LiPo. So, around 50MPH or above should be easily achievable, especially if the truck is geared for speed runs. -Brett

@AMain_Hobbies3 жыл бұрын
@@RiverTheNerd Unfortunately this Brushed version of the Tenacity SCT has been discontinued, but otherwise I'd say yes, good approach. But it's a great idea to start with a brushed model and then upgrade it as your skills grow. The Brushed Traxxas Slash, Bandit and Rustler are great options, under $200. The Kyosho Fazer Mk2 cars are also great, inexpensive options. We put a 3S system in one and it was fast! You have options, good on your to do your research! -Brett

@AMain_Hobbies3 жыл бұрын
You'll have to do some trial and error to determine the optimal gearing for you. Drive the truck around a few minutes and temp the motor and ESC. Normal heat or temperature will allow you to touch the motor can after use and hold it there for about 3 seconds. If the can is too hot, it will instantly be too hot to touch and hold, meaning you need to gear down. If you don't feel comfortable touching the hot parts, I understand, and this temp gun would be a good alternative: www.amainhobbies.com/protek-rc-trutemp-infrared-thermometer-ptk-8310/p-qtqqqaqq7zqxactz Motor and ESC temps should be kept under 170°F if possible. -Brett
