@davidpetruic95574 жыл бұрын
The Reem has 80 pro fights if you include his kickboxing, I wouldn’t say his intelligence in fighting has improved, it would be more accurate to say that experience is second to none in martial combat and he is probably familiar with every kind of situation there is in the cage.
@mtb2sea1704 жыл бұрын
I would agree that he was intelligent. I think when he covered up and the announcers got excited he was letting Sakai burn his arms out. Sakai had I think his third flurry early in the third round and Overeem really started at about 2:30 of the third. I think he had an idea that he could take the second half of the fight and the judges tend to remember the second half on the score cards.
@davidpetruic95574 жыл бұрын
MTB 2 SEA that is not a new technique for the Reem most of his fights go into later rounds and he was excellent at covering up I’ve seen him is play that style on more that one occasion believe me!

I don't think he has slowed down it's more like he has become more economical with the way he uses his energy in a fight
@mtb2sea1704 жыл бұрын
David Petruic I didn’t mean he was any more or less intelligent than any previous fight. I’ve seen him use that technique in other fights and Joe throws out his patented “oh...he’s in trouble” and sometimes he walks out of it and a few time a heavy hitter will catch him flush and drop him. It’s not always a good strategy. Sakai was not throwing big bombs (relative to other HW’s), plus Sakai was throwing in a rhythm that Reem could predict and match and with very small movement could block, except the few elbows, they were out of the rhythm and caught him.

@@Rucarlos That's pretty much my point. Ngannou has a shot locked in. If Blaydes beats Lewis, he's got a good claim to wait on his shot, then there's Jones. Reem could be sitting at #4 in line through no fault of his own. And that's BEST case scenario... One wonky decision and the whole division could be backed up another 6 months. If Reem talked his way into a Jones fight, the winner of that is 100% locked in against the winner of Ngannou-Stipe, even if some crazy situation has them run it back. hall of famer for sure.. if you actually go back and watch the sakai fight, that was overeems game plan all along to win against sakai, he's not looking for round 1 finishes anymore, he wants the belt as this is his last run at it. none of what sakai threw even phased ubereem, every time he walked back into the cage, he was looking through his guard at what sakai was throwing, blocked it all, knew he would gas, and knew he could easily get the finish when that happened. a very smart fighter with tons of experience.

Reem is very technical both on the feet and on the ground. 2nd for Reem Jones doesn’t have crazy power so he probably wouldn’t get knocked out and if he could get over on Jones he would jump to the front of the line in my opinion and get another shot at Stipe. Otherwise Reem would probably need to fight Lewis and Rozenstruik to get a title shot. This way he skips a step. Reem needs to start calling out Jones

I think it would be a great fight to watch tho and I think it would be the best path forward for Reem and would give him the best chance for a title shot. U r right tho high risk for Jones, who in all likelihood is the #1 contender after Stipe and Francis run it back.

Seemed very strange fight, one guy not countering and just covering up and the other with no ground game or the ability to get up.

This is a very relevant thing and I only offer you this because my buddy Ryan asked "Chael what's the difference between the punches and the kicks?" Ok those are all xs and ys and zs and they are very important but do you see my point? These guys with the intangibles are going out there and making a great name. Set that aside.
