Completely incorrect. Cowher resigned (not fired) at 48 years old and could have gotten another job in two seconds for many years after stepping away. He didn’t want to coach anymore. Belichick's resume is a below .500 H.C without Brady. Players played for Brady not Belichick. Brady was the leader, communicator that motivator for that team. Belichick was just there riding Brady's coattails and taking all of the credits. People called him the mad scientists for drafting no name players. Well after Brady left, it showed how bad the guy was as a GM and H.C.

He won the Giants SBs in the 80s as DC. He had the Browns as SB contenders, until the owner pulled the plug. Until the rule enforcement change (Ty Law Rule - similar to Mel Blount Rule) enabled the Colts offensive to compete better with the Pats, the Pats defense was their strength. Like Bradshaw coming out in 78, Brady also benefit from the enforcement change. Early 2000s, the rivalry was more BB vs Manning than Brady vs Manning.

I want to hear Mike Florio complain about why Mike Vrabel doesn't have a head coaching job. He kept calling Amy Adam Strunk a reactive owner for firing Mike Vrabel (after two straight losing seasons, and no playoff wins in the past 4 seasons), and that Vrabel would have a job in a heartbeat. Well, there's Washington and Seattle left. That's it. And I can almost guarantee that Washington will be hiring Ben Johnson as soon as he's available. So that leaves Seattle, who just fired Pete Carrol for essentially having an old message that wasn't meshing with the locker room, and I assure you that will be a similar message that get's preached by Vrabel. Except Vrabel will preach it in a degrading manner, without Superbowls to back it up. If Seattle is smart, they won't hire Vrabel either and instead go with someone like Mike MacDonald or Bobby Slowick.

On the Browns, he only got them to one winning season. I hate these talking heads that bow down to his presence. Maybe he could be good as a DC, but you see how he is without the GOAT. The “new model” - its not really new in 2024 - in the NFL is to get a hot-shot quarterback and hire a young, energetic, offensive-minded coach. Rule changes which favor the offense and overprotect wide receivers and QBs are really what started it all. If you don’t agree the NFL is vastly different go watch replays from, oh, the 70s. Now, I don’t really consider Bill Bellichick (BB) to be “young” and without Tom Brady, BB’s ability as an offensive guru has come into question. I think that BB was a defensive coach early on as an assistant perhaps. But it might be the case that the NFL has passed Bellichick by. If I were an owner I wouldn’t hire Bellichick simply because I KNOW there would be a massive power struggle, but that’s an argument for another day.

Brady provided the perfect fit to allow Belichick to operate at his highest level and vice versa for Brady. In fact, Brady's intense team management style was in fact a significant part of the coaching scheme...

Who's to say Mac Jones was/is good enough to be an elite QB in the NFL? In a lot of peoples opinions including mine is that he was the best option at the time and they made it work. It's simply because he's being compared unfairly to Brady and he's not even in the same universe to begin with. I think a little more respect for a coach who has proven he is in fact the best to have done it. Nobody ever talks about Bill Walsh being not wanted or anything like that and look at what he did between Montana and Young and nobody says squat. He's a great coach and when he's being talked about it should be respectful. There's NO way you can tell me or anyone that Don Shula didn't coach his players hard or make unpopular decisions.

🛑 Stop. Before mid season next year The Cowboy will fire Mike McCarthy also by the then Bill have changed his views on how much power he needs in an organization such as the Cowboys. They hire Bill by week Six. The Cow will have poor start because of McCarthy, they (the players) felt they would have a new start (coach) for the new season, something to be excited about and keeping Mike is a huge let down which translates into a poor start. That's my calculated opinion.

I call this the Tom Brady effect, the plain and simple fact is this man ran Tom Brady out of New England claiming to Robert Kraft that he thought Tom Brady could no longer play in the NFL and then the very next season he goes to a seven win team the year before and leads them to a Super Bowl championship, inconveniently no one talks about the fact that he was barely over 500 as a head coach before he had Tom Brady and could do nothing in New England after Tom Brady left.. you combine that with the fact that he's 71 years old and most of these openings for head coaches want someone that's going to be able to be around for a little while, you're looking at somebody that's probably only going to coach another two or three years

Key word for Belichick is "WAS", as in WAS the greatest coach in the NFL, argueably. He's old, his style of coaching is old, he's stuck in his ways and isn't going to be changing anytime soon. Just look at his last few years, he's had one of the worst records in the NFL. I get the Super Bowls of years gone by, but his downhill slide when you look at the numbers, it's almost surprising he even got 1 interview. Why are these talking heads so surprised?

Because they know how stupid some of these owners are when it comes to football and they might hire him just because he's Belichick and not looking at his stats.

Sean Payton, Jim Harbaugh...what are the length of their contracts? He's done. If I'm going to take a 2-3 year spec on a coach, it's not going to be from the guy who just hired a defensive team to be OC. = father time. + The Josh Mcdaniels factor, why isn't he getting work? Same patriot way that doesn't translate anywhere else.
