It would be a crime to drop Spa, it's the best track in the world, period. The historic ones like Spa, Monza, Silverstone, Interlagos and a few others have to be permanent every year. From the current calendar, i would drop one of two between Jeddah and Qatar in the Middle East, Miami and Mexico, and Zandvooort in Europe. I would put in Kyalami in South Africa, Malaysia, Nurburgring and Turkey in Europe.

Turkey's geopolitical climate is anything but stable right now, with their bickering with the EU and resistance against Ukraine and logistical involvements with Syria and Russia. We probably won't go back to Istanbul Park for quite a long time. Absolutely on Malaysia and the Nurburgring returning, though. I really wish they'd consider Indianapolis' GP layout (without the sweeping final turn, but rather the Indycar layout--which is for some reason a Grade 2, and I can't figure out why) or even consider something like Road America (a Grade 2 primarily due to local amenities and garage infrastructure, not the track itself). A return to Korea would be amazing, or even India. Hell, maybe shove Suzuka aside for Fuji or Twin Ring Motegi (how is the latter a Grade 2?!) for a year or two. I'd definitely get rid of as many Middle East tracks as possible, Bahrain included. The paycheck is the only thing keeping them there and their home countries have less than stellar international reputations. Stay out of China for similar reasons to geopolitics above.
@SérgioXarepejrnfn12 күн бұрын
Bahrain i think is a good track, the best of the Middle East. I would keep Abu Dhabi, but not as the finale, i think Interlagos is the best track to end the season. In the US i like Road America(Elkhart Lake) a lot, i agree with you and even Indianapolis. I would keep Austin which is fantastic and maybe Las Vegas, but i think Miami is lame. I woyld drop Miami. It's shame Istambul is not posible due to political reasons, for me is one of the best tracks in the world. Nurbugring and Malaysia are no brainers for me.

There should be a core group of legacy tracks in the calendar so that there is some consistency unless the host nation ops out of the group which would mean their place on the calendar is up for grabs. My thoughts for the group would be Melbourne, Suzuka, Spa, Silverstone, Singapore, Canada, Monza and São Paulo. If there is consistency it would mean better efficiency.

It's time for F1 to become a divisional series. More races, more teams, divided up into two series, East and West say, for the first two thirds of the seanson, with the leading teams/drivers from each 'division' being brought together for the last part of the season. This would enable F1 to cover more of the world and more teams and drivers to compete for a World Championship. So, I suggest 36 races with half the teams competing in their first races at different tracks. Double the number of teams to, say, 40 so each race would have 20 teams, with only the best 20 teams from the first 12 races being invited to compete in the last 12 races. This could result in teams being 'invited' to some races with 'starting money', as they were in the past, generating more revenue for the teams as well as more races generating more money for Liberty Media and more entertainment for us, the racing enthusiasts. I'm sure an idea like this could be refined to work without diluting the quality of the racing were it supported by the teams.
