Ireland was once called, "the most Catholic country in the world." While that might not be true anymore due to a drastic decline in Mass attendance, Irish church leaders aren't giving up.

Neil Gonsalves That's correct Neil. Yes, there have been many scandals in Ireland as in every other country. But I contend as you do, it's the woeful negligence in Cathesis that's causing people to slowly float adrift from the church. Please do come over here and help re-evangelize! You'd be most welcome...

First of all, I would say stay in America and look around for where you can find a seminary where you could get a good formation to be a good priest. Then, once you are a priest, you could offer to go to Ireland and evangelize.

@@jonathanlebo3710 I agree it was terrible and it does look like the Church is a shambles, but the Church is not the people, we must stay and fight for the true Church, realize it was attached badly. I think many young men and women were pushed into vocations that didn’t really exist. They joined convents and seminaries just to please an Irish mammy, who in turn was sure she had earned a one way ticket to heaven, because she produced a vocation. I remember how viscous many nuns and certain priests (CBs especially) were when I was a kid. They must have been miserable and must have felt trapped. I went to boarding school for three years. Every morning you could smell whiskey off most of the priests. Not many of those men were happy. The priests I see these days (now on the other side of the pond…west side…) adore what they do. There is new energy coming into the Church and I hope this revitalization will reach Ireland soon.

Jesus is a LIAR who DOESN'T keep promoses. e.g. "jesus" also "promised" to return within the LIVES of his apostles. "Mark" didn't even WRITE his fable until (almost) 50 years AFTER the (supposed) guy's (supposedly) died. Also, too, besides, in addition, plus, "Mark" didn't mention ANYTHING abouyt "resurrection", and Mark kwas the earliest and (presumably) LEAST fictionalized and "hero-icized" surviving fable of jesus.

How did you infer he was a Jew? But more importantly, why do you care? Probably half of the US believes that - not to mention most of Europe. The Church lost faith in itself; that is why it crumbled, not from without but from within. That is the real issue, not what third parties say. What say they? Why should you care? Get back to work, rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, like Ezra and Nehemiah did of old. As it is written: Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth. We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalm 124).

They are cannibals because they eat dead man flesh from an ancient 2000 year old cadaver & they are vampires for drinking dead man blood in church rituals. They are Zombies because they eat dead man flesh & they vampire drink the blood from a dead flying Zombie that floated up from a tomb & flew up to clouds after he had been dead for three days at Easter. Drinking blood from dead flying Zombies turns the flesh eating cannibals & blood drinking vampire priests into full Vampirish cannibalistic flying Zombie Priests & they were probably already homosexual, pervert paedophiles & compulsive liars to start with or they wouldn't have become priests in the first place.

I have never-ever seen a good-and-honest book or documentary about the real Irish history, or what the British really did to the Irish. We've all been taught the horror's of the African slave trade. It's in all the school books and in plenty of Hollywood movies.But for some reason the largest group of slaves in the British Colonies in the 17th Century doesn't get mentioned at all: the Irish. The Irish Slave Trade - The Forgotten “White” Slaves - They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children. Whenever they rebelled or even disobeyed an order, they were punished in the harshest ways. Slave owners would hang their human property by their hands and set their hands or feet on fire as one form of punishment. They were burned alive and had their heads placed on pikes in the marketplace as a warning to other captives.During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia. Another 30,000 Irish men and women were also transported and sold to the highest bidder. In 1656, Cromwell ordered that 2000 Irish children be taken to Jamaica and sold as slaves to English settlers.None of the Irish victims ever made it back to their homeland to describe their ordeal. These are the lost slaves; the ones that time and biased history books and documentaries conveniently forgot.

This is utter bullshit. Irish so-called "white slaves" were indentured servants. That meant they could expect to earn their freedom after a certain period of time. To call them "slaves" as if they were no different from the black slaves imported from Africa, traded and often worked to death like livestock, is grossly inaccurate. This is a distortion of history, often repeated by white nationalists.

I for one don't believe that a people who has done so much to bring the faith to others on the far away corners of the world would just leave it to die in their own backyard. All other forces, kingdoms,empires,regimes, ideologies pass, but the eternal catholic church remaines. We are now facing the new atheist modern liberal backlash. I think it means that the people who do stay practising will be more sincere and have deeper, more vital faith. We need it too, with the removal of the right to life from the unborn in 2018 which has made me angry and ashamed of the nation I have always been so proud of. However, I have met some wonderful people in the pro-life movement, not all Catholic but all decent, caring people and the Catholics are REAL Catholics. Us laity will also have to take more responsibility and strive even harder to live Christian lives every day, not just Sunday so we can have integrity and demonstrate what Christ wants us to be in the face of a lot of aggression and even hatred.Some of those who voted to repeal the 8th seem to have done so out of sheer hatred for the Church, which is disturbing but Jesus told us to rejoice if we are hated because they hated Him first so I'll just get on with it and let the haters hatet!

Every decent person is furious and saddened that even one child was sexually abused or abused in any way. What should be pointed out however, is that the John Jay report in the USA showed that 20% of victims were prepubescent children. 80% were MALEs in puberty and therefore the predators were homosexual. The statistics are the opposite in secular society, the vast majority of victims are teen girls. What the current church leadership doesn't want to admit is the high percentage of active homosexuals in the priesthood, shown by the high numbers dying from AIDS. We can't solve a problem we don't acknowledge. The good news is that young priests newly ordained and those in the seminaries across the western world, are orthodox in belief and are heterosexual, as since John Paul II onwards ordaining homosexuals has been discouraged. If you are liberal and lax on church doctrine and belief, you are very unlikely to see any point in becoming a priest or nun. So the liberal secularists in the hierarchy are not reproducing themselves. They are gradually dying out. The church will become leaner and smaller by the next generation, but also the priests and religious will be true believers. They will be teaching the true faith and not something wishy washy and not prophetic enough to be a contrast to modern society. So hang in their faithful Catholics, the new leaders agree with the laity and will be casting out the abusers and corrupt embezzlers of all kinds. It will be a painful purifying but the Church needs it.

They really should have shot that first clip with Daniel a few more times. It's good to read from cue cards so you stay succinct and remember everything, but it just looks bad when it's obvious. I was never touched nor spoken to even slightly inappropriately and neither were any of the other kids as far as I know.All the other priests were really sound and the ould fella was only grumpy because he was recovering from a stroke. The idea that nearly all Catholic religious are or were abusive is just false, slurring and an attempt at mass character assassination and trivialises the suffering that the real victims went through as well as the seriousness of the crimes the actual abusers committed!

Nonsense! It was actually the early Catholic church that plunged Europe into the Dark Ages through the deliberate destruction of the Greek schools of philosophy and learning across the Empire, a Christian mob even murdered the female philosopher/scientist Hypatia in Alexandria because she refused to stop teaching her students. All discussion of science, philosophy and art was ruthlessly suppressed by the church for hundreds of years.

Still declining though, once people become more educated and prosperous they have the ability to question the dogma and see the stories told in the Bible for the mythology they are. Churches only grow where there is poverty and a lack of education.
@pumamountainlion7777
@pumamountainlion7777 4 жыл бұрын
zavi13 Your partly right and wrong, churches do appear to grow where there is poverty and lack of “education”, when you have nothing to look forward in life, you start to focus more on God, as the Bible says “blessed is the poor in spirit, for he shall inherit the kingdom of God”, materialism and envy are what give rise to ideas such as communism, Marxism and atheism. Now on education, yes the Church appears to thrive where “education” is less enforced, now let’s address some key words, how can we know what is branded as education is truly an education and not an indoctrination of a specific worldview ideology into the people? Education requires investigation, not regurgitating what your told are “facts”, try questioning evolution or the Big Bang or a globe earth in science class, and see what happens, your be sent to special Ed and put on drugs, most science is based on occult teachings, mystery religions and satanic philosophy. The reason why secularism is higher in “educated” people is because they are being indoctrinated. God will destroy the wisdom of the wise, you think your so educated because you went to school and have all these degrees, yet if I asked you a simple question like this you wouldn’t be able to answer it, so here is the question, if evolution is true and homosexuality is genetic, how did the homosexual gene survive through all that natural selection if homosexuals can’t have kids and pass down their genes? Now your forced to admit homosexuality is not genetic and is a social/spiritual thing or you have to admit that there is something in the environment that causes it or that it’s a first generation mutation caused by a genetic defect due to what? Environmental toxins? All of a suddenly combating homosexuality is no longer the immoral thing to do because now we are forced to admit that it’s not a normal gene like eyes or hair and is instead more of a disease/social/spiritual type of issue. Evolution and the idea that homosexuality is genetic can’t be reconciled, yet for some reason, most Darwinist are also homosexual allies, and most creationist are not, who’s the smart one here, at least creationists are smart enough to understand that there is only male and female and the two are meant for each other, but acknowledging the truth makes us bigots and ignorant in the eyes of atheists.

Fred Freddy.. in reply. I like what you wrote, and agree with that information you gave us. In my comment l am not defending paedophile clergy... these people are sick... nobody is a born paedophile. A paedophile is made...by being sexually abused as a small child over a long period of time by an adult, who themselves were sexually abused as a little child also; you see the circle goes around... the mind is made sick by the unnatural act. The number of paedophile priests in the RCC compared to the 1.1 billion Catholics is comparatively very small and those who are responsible for the child abuse MUST be tried at the law courts. But, what has happened the Roman Catholic Church has been blamed as the only "cause" , and perpetrator of all paedophilia in the world. The media has a strong and we'll organised lobby to destroy the Roman Catholic Church by exaggeration..."the pen is mightier than the sword". This sickness is in all places, it's in all families... that's where it starts... in the HOME. Nobody seems to be addressing this devastating problem... What are we to do about it? The world is moving away from God, it doesn't want God, the results are, then God will lift His grace from us, allow us to do what we want without Him... and the results are what we see today... who will stop this? It's up to You and I, with God to stop it. We must RETURN to God.

The current generation have no idea that Ireland was a third world nation before 1980s- the poor could not buried properly, the social welfare was run by the church extremely haphazardly- and no one had a clue about the addictive nature of the paedophile. U means,the Christian decreasing in europe prove Christianity is false?? Nah2,instead surprisingly in turn this prove christianity is true.This shows that everything which is prophecy in the Bible will comes true.All this signals the fulfillment of the end times prophecy.The Bible says that in the last days, many will turn away from God.There will be a tremendous rise in false teachers,false prophets, false church, false doctrine(progressive christianity)which is already happening in the world because of a secular world.See what is spoken about the religious leaders scandal happening today which is already prophecy in the Bible. 2 Peter 2:1-3 1.But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secrectly bring in destructive heresies,even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2.And many will follow their destructive ways,because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3.By covetousness they will expose you with deceptive words, for a long time their judgement has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. As it is said in the second verse, because of what is happening in the church, the priest and the church leader scandal,Christianity is criticised and condemned publicly using the media.Those Christians who just don't about the Bible got misleaded and fall away. The third verse also says about the teleevangelist who earns lots and lots of money from people by using deceptive words and most of them becomes millionaire which is also why the church is widely criticised in the social media. If u don't know the Bible, it is easy to say that Christianity is not true because of all the things which happens in the church globally.

It's not supposed to be a smaller, leaner and efficient church. It's supposed to go out and teach what Jesus thought his Apostles, and baptise and make believers of all nations. The church can't sit back on this. It needs to be pure again, reverent, informative as it was before modernism invaded, and teach proper catacheisis in the schools. It needs to bring back the reverence of the liturgy and reception of the Eucharist ( i.e. kneeling and on the tongue only ). The Latin Mass should be allowed to flourish again. If these things happen Ireland has a chance of becoming a good Catholic country again and an example to the world. If these changes don't happen the church in Ireland will be gone completely before the next generation as this generation will have passed on, and, satan will have achieved his goal of making Ireland 'GODLESS' , with the loss of millions of souls for all eternity. It's time to wake up church and realise the new liturgy, modernist ideologies in the clergy and sex abuse scandals are the death knell of the Catholic Church in Ireland.
