Hey guys! We noticed some negative comments and just want to say that they truly hurt each and everyone of us associated with the house. There are some comments speculating about Annemarie’s decision to leave UMH and it’s truly unnecessary to make assumptions. It’s brings us immense sadness to see comments slandering Ashley or Annemarie or Kelly or Elliot. Not everything we do is shown online. Please be kind to all of the roommates and everyone associated w the house. All we are trying to do is spread positivity and this comment section should never be a place for negativity. We love you guys and can’t wait to make more content. This is just the beginning!

As someone who has watched all of you separately for years before you came together, it’s crazy to see the amount of negativity and hate people are putting out there and using that to base your whole personality off of. The way people are stating things as if they are fact is insane, when really it’s just internalized misogyny under the pretext of wanting to defend one person over the other. You all make fun videos for us to watch and enjoy. That’s it. That’s all it ever should be. Ashley, Kelly, Elliot, Annemarie, your true fans are all still here to support you in whatever you choose to do moving forward!!

“Daddy, why are uncle Kelly's kids so crazy”, this is the warmest and most hilarious moment of this episode, cant wait to see that day comes! 🤣🤣
The best life advice I ever had was from my dad "Stop stressing over things you can't control" and also even tho he never told me that but I learned by watching him "enjoy the little stuff you don't need much in life"
Elliot, I just wanted to thank you for sharing the story between you and your mom, and how that continues to be a source of pain. I think sometimes there are many layers to why these things happen, such as generational, cultural differences. I think many of us have our own unique experiences with similar underlying themes, and can relate to each other through how we felt from that. I, personally, can empathize with your sentiment about being emotionally charged or "different" from the family. My heart goes out to anyone experiencing or having experienced that.

Hearing Elliot talk abt his relationship w his mom n family.. was quite emotional.. But Elliot something special and we all do have a nd for that mom child relationship.. It's never too late to form that.. There's definitely pple u can ask for advice.. be open and communicate with your mom/family.. You'll be happy you did..
I feel like Ashley and Kelly don’t have as much emotional depth as Elliot does (not a bad thing). Their upbringing seems to be much different than Elliot and I couldn’t help but notice the disconnect between the three as Elliot spoke about his mom. To Elliot, opening up on the podcast as you did was incredibly impressive and showed a lot of your character. Don’t be afraid to share more, your experiences are valid and not weird. Tips to Kelly and Ashley, sometimes relating to someone and sharing your own experience in response to someone else’s isn’t how you respond to someone’s traumatic or “deep” experience. I urge you two to listen and ask informative questions, develop that conversation into something more for all of you to learn. Be genuine towards one another. I’m not sure what the goal of your podcast is, but to make it a podcast that creates a safe space for you three that are involved requires work. Surface level conversation and automatic responses aren’t enough. Peoples experiences are more than a story or someone’s past, recognize that in Elliot’s case. Explore together, utilize this podcast as a place to grow rather than content to please the masses.
@Wizard101duncan2 жыл бұрын
I agree, I think Ashley’s advice was a bit superficial to just “talk to them about it more”. Based on her origin story, she seems to have had a different relationship with her parents that may not have involved as much emotional charge as Elliot did. Wish there was a little more empathy rather than them just comparing to how their situations are “good” while Elliots clearly wasn’t

It seems that many of you did not truly listen to the full episode. Yes, it lacks organization. Yes we miss AM. Yes this is different. Many of us expected for them to address more of the AM situation. However, they DONT OWE us that. Of course, we can all make our own assumptions but not to the point that we say hurtful things that are possibly not even true. They're humans. Most of them are our age. It is clear that they are all going through a hard time. Kelly and Elliot just lost someone. Ashley is taking a lot of the backlash for AM leaving. AM is also receiving a great amount of hate on her KZbin channel. Come on, put yourselves in their shoes. Cut them some slack and give them a sec to heal. Overall, we all feel that maybe they should have addressed and handled things differently. But what even is the right way to go about this? They could have done it a million different ways ,and everyone would still find a way to come-up with their own narratives. Stop with the hate. There's ways to give constructive feedback without calling people names.

elliot, i can see how much you value your family/mom. as someone with a very similar experience, it is still nice to see you out there still enjoying your life to the fullest, without putting so much of that regret on yourself everyday. one day you will repair your relationship with your mom, and im sure she is deep down happy that you're doing the best you can. ive never heard a youtuber talk about being the "outcast" of their family but still love/respect their parents (our cultures have similar values of parents) and its nice to see someone i genuinely enjoy talking about this.

I don't usually comment on videos but I do want to say this after seeing some comments on their recent videos - I know that everyone is allowed to have their opinions, but it feels icky to see people comment things that are just speculative or aren't constructive! Early 20's are still so impressionable and here these young adults are, sharing their lives and creating content while also navigating transitions. I hope we can spread love, give grace, and give back to them as a community too so that they can grow, instead of us just consuming their content and having opinions on them. Anyway ❤️ much love to ya

@@juliannaceralde Standout Sidekick didn't say they didn't address it, they said that Anne-Marie is the only person who has done it in a video. Addressing the issue in a video has a much larger reach, if you don't get why those two are different, I don't know what else to tell you. You missed the entire point of Standout Sidekick's comment and just had to mention Ashley and Kelly because you favor them. Expecting people to be that obsessed with Ashley and Kelly and saying "it's not that hard to look for their replies" tells me that you spend a lot of time stalking these comments. Yes, it’s sad that AM left. I’m appalled at the hate Ashley is getting, let her be however she is? Calling her a pick me doesn’t do anything but hurt people. She’s a real person lol some of y’all just decided to turn your empathy off 😳. Let her grow and mature at her own pace, she is a human being. Maybe her sibs ground her in a diff way, and these roommates bring out a diff side to her energy. She’s allowed to show different sides to her. This is their first ep without AM so sure it’s gonna be different. The “lack of depth” might just be people wanting to get to know K, A and E better? AM provided substantial questions so maybe that’s the real reason for the comments. Curious to see how the podcast evolves. The drama in the comments is ridiculous lol why are y’all taking it so personally when it’s literally their lives. It’s okay to have ur own opinion but why give energy to hate on someone? All the comments replying to the hate saying that they’re jobless, jealous, etc I get that y’all are trying to defend but you’re also spewing negativity in the comments. Hope all of this dies down soon, the drama is annoying 🥴 I hope everyone in the house can just reflect on themselves and this experience w AM leaving. Maybe another video clearing things up would help? Idk, but this transition is rough. I wish people were more loving and encouraging of positive change instead of hating and forcing people to change. It’s just sad to see, when the intention of this house was for positive reasons and the people left living there are trying their best too.

It’s clear some of you have never had roommates or are not even old enough to move out of your parent’s house because it’s normal to not be best friends with all your roommates. I don’t think a content house and having randomly assigned roommates is comparable though. AM, Elliot and Kelly were close friends before this content house came together. They all came together for the same reason initially, to create content together. For some reason, that didn’t happen even though they all had a common goal. It’s normal to not be friends with your roommates, but what are the odds that things didn’t work out when one more person became apart of the equation? AM, Elliot and Kelly had a very comfortable and close dynamic before this content house came about. Now, it seems like Kelly and AM aren’t as close as they used to be when it was just the three (AM, Elliot, Kelly) of them.

Get an idea of when your grandfather started balding and the pattern of his hair loss. Whether it’s receding or crown loss. It will give you a good indication of where it may go. I feel like Kelly and Ashley’s reactions/handling of Elliot opening up about his regret involving the relationship he has with his mom was so hard to watch. Elliot doesn’t seem like he is typically that vulnerable and the one time he chose to, they didn’t even really ask him much about it or try to understand it on a deeper level. Kelly reverted straight to comparing himself to it and Ashley just talked about how her mom and her generally get along. Elliot’s mom obviously seems a bit more of like those old fashioned asian parents and so their strained relationship isn’t as easy to mend, but Kelly + Ashley could’ve delved into it a bit more with him or at least seem a bit more compassionate about the circumstance. But they didn’t. I thought that was kinda sad and honestly really disappointing. Maybe they were caught off guard, but even on the basis of just friends and without the pressure of being recorded, how can you be close friends with someone who you can’t talk deeply to about these things? Not everything has to be deep, but these two seemed so surface level when this situation came up. You don’t have to become a therapist or crutch for your friend, but if they’re the type to rarely open up, I feel like it’s important as a friend to understand how you can “show up” for them.

ur really trying to teach them how to podcast and read feelings🤦🏽♀️. First off ashley has a podcast on her own called extra dynamic which is literally her motto then Kelly and Luke had one together on patreon called life of Luke and Kelly. An this is Elliot’s first time doing a podcast. Plus I don’t like how ur really assuming stuff right away without reading there pinned comment that all of them have feelings and they don’t like bringing negativity into the nonsense drama. It literally should be easy for you to ignore the video and grow up and be mature

Not trying to excuse anyone, because I completely agree with your take, but I too have no idea how I would react if a friend of mine talked about something personal for hundreds of thousands of people to see. I wouldn't know what to ask with the fear of being too intimate , or too personal and fear of how said friend would react to questions. Maybe these are conversations they should have off cam first and then be more comfortable to talk about in on video or podcast if they choose to. But I feel like this is the "new" generation issue. They are too attached to this social media bubble that they simply don't know how to relate to issues. Like when Ashley said that they do "work" every day and then mentioned doing a "story" on instagram as work. For a whole day. That doesn't make any sense to me. I guess thats just the reality of their work but most social media influencers are very very clearly "immature" on personal development and relationships maturity and relating to REAL past, current and personal issues. Quick edit: When Kelly was talking about his grandma I feel like Elliot handled it really nicely. I feel like he is just more mature and more connected to his feelings and his ability to deal with people. And Kelly also dealt alot better with Elliot's grandpa situation. He asked questions and seemed genuinely interested and caring. Because he could relate.

I think it's important to remember that we are talking on a podcast that is seen by thousands of people and although it's more interesting to ask more inquisitive questions, it can really pry into people's personal lives which not everyone is comfortable with. We try to be as "deep" as we are comfortable with online but somethings are better talked about off camera!

OK SOOO while I agree that this episode lacks depth, I think what people are struggling with is the lack of structure and organisation in this video. “Hangout” episodes like this don’t need to be super deep or meaningful, but it’s not as entertaining when there isn’t a lot of direction. I listen to podcasts where they spend an entire episode doing a q&a, but it’s a lot more fluid than this, which makes them more engaging and interesting. 🤷🏻♀️ maybe use that white board you have to prepare a little more… brush through the questions… your brands are flashy and exciting, and I think that’s what people expect from this podcast. You don’t need to be that 100% of the time, but a disclaimer at the beginning of “hey, we’re just hanging out and going with the flow. Answering some random questions and going on tangents” would be good and I think would set the tone/agenda for the video, so you’re not getting the criticisms you are under this video.

For Kelly, you may not think that you can beat your “perfect brother” yet think of the numerous lives you have touched. I am sure your brother has not influenced and touched as many lives as you, has not had as large an impact on people as you have. I think it just comes down to different paths and no matter what path you take, making your mark through it.

Hey guys! So sad to see all these hate comments. For me, I love the unstructured podcast and it feels like a proper convo. Many podcasts that are labelled "professional" feel way too formal and only highlights the best parts of a conversation/talk. UMH podcast is such a breath of fresh air and I would just ignore the hate comments. These people clearly only care about what they want from you guys, and are not aware of the majority of us who enjoy and love your videos! You guys rock and will continue to grow. If you dont like the podcast, then watch something else lol. Respect for putting up with this.

as someone who was introduced to ur mom’s house because of ashley, i think the hate towards her is ridiculous. the house would absolutely not be the same without her (like, it literally was named after her and her brand lmfao??). all of the roommates have described her as nothing but sweet, generous and generally positive INCLUDING AM. that much is evident through her videos too (seeing as how little you can actually gauge from a person’s life through youtube, the fact that it’s clear that she is a kind and thoughtful person even with only seeing a glimpse of her life says a LOT), like the gifts she’s given them was clearly something that took them all by surprise and that they each appreciated. and AM herself has said that ashley inspired her to be more giving and charitable. so people trying to create this imaginary beef between them when it quite literally is not there, is so stupid and they clearly have nothing better to do with their lives. trying to paint her as this person creating all this drama is not only the epitome of miserable loner behaviour, but also fundamentally untrue and baseless. also, it’s so crazy how much kelly and ashley’s happiness bothers some people, to the point where they’re *convinced* it’s making things worse for the house. idk about you, but if my friends are clearly happy together i too would be over the moon for them! elliot is first and foremost their friend and if you think he’d be the type to be bitter and annoyed over them being together, it says a lot about what you think of him as a person; any normal friend would welcome their friends’ happiness?&?@&@ wanting them to breakup when they clearly are happy together is just sooo crazy to me but it is also SUPER telling- miserable people can’t stand other people being happy so they want them to be miserable too 😕 to the roomies- i genuinely wish the best for you all and hope you manage to push through even with all of these awful comments. love you and (unlike some people) i hope you guys are happy 💗💗💗 can’t wait to see what’s coming from the house!!

"seeing as how little you can actually gauge from a person’s life through youtube" This argument applies both ways to all of the roommates. How do you know any of them on KZbin/SM are truly "kind and thoughtful" if you get such a small snippet of their lives??? In that same vein how do you know if they're bad people? You can't accurately claim either of those things under your own logic lol. This makes me think of people who film themselves giving to the homeless to come across as kind on SM..... clearly it works because people like you will believe it without a second thought.

@@acnh3373 they’re youtubers, not actors. if they were faking everything onscreen i think it would be pretty obvious since like i said, unless they’re trained actors, it would be extremely difficult to maintain their on camera personas (we saw a bit of their acting in kelly’s friends skit sooo yeah i think it’s pretty clear what their acting is like lmfaooo). what i said was that there is only so little of a person’s life you see on youtube, not that it’s fake, but that a large portion of it is left out. the fact that even with so much of her life left out her caring and generous personality shines through IS telling of the kind of person she is. and no i’m not going off of solely what SHE puts in her videos- the rest of the roommates in their own videos have described ashley as such, again, including annemarie. if she hates her so much as you so desperately wish to believe, would she be going out of her way to say that about ashley in her own videos?? it’s funny how out of everything in this comment you picked that to focus on instead of quite literally everything else i said :/ the miserable people part probably hit a sensitive spot

@@kookpage Notice how I didn't bring up a single name and only called out your logic. You're the one projecting and jumping to conclusions clearly. The fact of the matter is that people behave differently when they know they're being filmed. Psychologically you wouldn't act the same if you were being told that you're in a vlog v.s. a skit which have clearly different connotations. I'm not even talking abt the roommates at this point your reasoning is just flawed

Some of you need to go outside and touch some grass, because you clearly never had real human interactions before. Sometimes people just don’t get along. That doesn’t mean one of the is a bad person/ is a bully. Sometimes you meet people and think you’ll have a great friendship but then when you get to know them more you realize your personalities are just so different. You are not going to be friends with everyone and get along with them just because they are good people, friendships require more than that. So stop attacking left and right.
@thefudgeameh2 жыл бұрын
holy shit, exactly. it’s like some of these people have never had human interaction in person or like.. idk, joined a school club or something. two people can coexist as both good people and not get along as well. being close friends isn’t just about being nice to each other and what not, and you can still be friendly with one another without being best friends. and, it’s like people have never lived with other roommates. sometimes even living with your best friend is hard due to the simplest differences in lifestyles-for ex, one person is super messy and one person is a clean freak. there doesn’t have to be bullying involved for someone to want to move out.
