So now Mission 40 10k training is over, what am I doing next?
Overall the training block was a success (I think), but it was a bit of a flat ending as I didn’t complete the time trial as planned. So what’s next……?

00:46- Mission 40 Lookback
01:50- What’s Next?
03:43- Half Time Series
07:03- Deload Needed
08:21- Summary
A bit of a reset was required before jumping into something else, but then again, if I don’t have a plan or a structure to follow at all, I know I will stagnate……
I’ve therefore decided to progress into a HM training series (as planned), but with a little more of a relaxed feel to it. I’ll still be training intensively, and working to improve my running, it just won’t be as serious with weekly training logs etc. Also, I’ll plan to run hard HM efforts within the block rather than one right at the end.
I think it’ll be the prefect mix of training and fun, focus and freedom, that I need right now before the serious work of marathon training starts in summer.
So this Half Time series will be focused on improving my ability to run close to threshold, and maintaining it. I still feel I’ve got loads of room for improvement at the longer distances, as they are the still fairly new to me and they are the distances I have the least experience in.
Hopefully this series will set me up nicely for those longer sustained runs, and will prepare me for my second attempt at a marathon later this year!
What are YOU doing at the minute? Have you taken part in any recent RACES? Drop your goals and aims in the comments…….
