I cried when you found your new place. I can see many happy meals coming from that kitchen. I’ve learned so much from your cooking. And household tips Hope these last 20 days go fast and you get everything done. Even though you’ve got a big pantry, please Start going back to the food pantry. I enjoy that part of your show. I think you should do a week of not buying groceries and eating out of everything you can find in your home
@hollyfink61684 ай бұрын
We did that before we moved, just bought a few things to use complete meals to use up what we had. Less to move, but it took a lot of huge grocery bills to replenish. So, I don’t know, we had 3 days when we had to move. We had bought a house so, of course we wanted to be in the new house. Had lots of friends help, to clean the new house as they were putting away every. My very good friend, went the next day to clean the place we left. A true blessing, the landlord said she never saw a place so clean. 😊

I use "single use", grocery t-shirt bags for kitchen garbage which i tie off and then toss in the garbage outside. Yes, you have to take it out more often but then, the garbage goes outside more often.
@mamabairds4 ай бұрын
and it's easier for the kids to take out a small grocery bag of trash vs a big 30 gallon trash bag!

@@mamabairds We transport our own garbage, recyclables, and yard waste. While it is relatively convient for us because there is transfer station 2 blocks off the main road to where we do most of our local shopping, the fewer times we have to do landfill garbage the better. Using the grocery sacks automatically encourages both the free recycling but also condensing of the landfill waste stream. (We have very little wet, landfill garbage; as little as possible both for holding power and also weight reasons. In general, wet garbage is an indicator of waste and thats not good either.)

moving is stressful. ive found if you just get your everyday living things in. (stuff everywhere) you will be less stressed with the moving back and forth. then you can sit down and sort what your family really needs. its an eye opening experience to see things just dont fit. much easier to get rid of. try to sell first always. good luck.

HOLY CRAP. After seeing your pantry …… I am a single mom living in a higher cost area on the west coast and my pantry is not even 1/4 the size of that and I have no need to go to a food bank….. did you struggle with food insecurity as a child and now it has led to food hoarding? You shouldn’t be going to a food bank hoarding the food if you’ve got a pantry that looks like that. Please get some therapy. Something isn’t right. Or are you just doing the food pantry hauls because you can make content off it and get money? Someone out there really does need that food…… food pantry’s are for when there is 0 food in the house. Not like what you’ve got….
@mamabairds3 ай бұрын
Where did you hear that food pantries are for when there is 0 food in the house? Did a food pantry tell you this the last time you went? Not all pantries are created equal unfortunately and not all have a lot of food to hand out. In my area, they do. They encourage all kinds of folks, including married moms with children (my family) to come visit the pantries to help with the cost of groceries. They don't specify that you have to have 0 food in the house. They hand out milk, yogurt, cheese, bread, fresh fruits and veggies, all things you don't see in my pantry. So, yes we really needed what the food bank gave us. I could easily flip the script and make you seem like the crazy person who needs therapy because you don't have a stock pile big enough to last for you and your kids if something happens. We all just went through Covid, we KNOW and have experienced how hard it is to get what you need for your family in a crisis. You can try and shame me all you want for being prepared for a food shortage. I'll still be in line next week at the food bank to receive what I can to help my family survive.
@HopeRobb2 ай бұрын
You are actually quite rude. You would probably pass out if you seen my pantry. I live in the country, canned food and a half of 5 ft by 6 ft Pantry fully full of food and two freezers. I have enough food to last me for a year if need be. It was great when my husband lost his job unexpectedly we had to eat out of that pantry for 4 months. You people that only buy for a week are going to have problems if anything happens to your job, health, or anything that can put a crunch in your budget. I was always taught to be prepared.
