The best thing about hunt is that everything that happens to you is your own fault. No circle pushing you into a bad tactical spot, no lootluck determines your game. It is all on you, if you push or circle around the enemy, how you gather Intel and how to react upon, if you kill ai now to get rid of them or crouch past them, if you rush to stop someone extract or you decide to just leave them, keep your hunter and try again next time. Your decisions, your consequences, the greatness of hunt.

@@Dodanos1Rust has been on my radar for a long time, but I've never actually played it. From what I can see, Rust isn't really very similar to Hunt. Hunt is more a tactical FPS with PvE elements. There's no base building or crafting in Hunt. I would compare Rust more to 7 Days to Die than Hunt. Hunt's on 55% sale on Steam at the moment if you want give it a try. Hunt is truly a spectacular game that has taken over alot of my gaming time. Just nothing out there like it. My favorite thing is that the gunfights due to the slow nature of the era's weaponry, actually feel like fights. Ducking in and out of cover, trading shots, repositioning. Almost every other game I played, most encounters are over in the blink of an eye cause of full auto high capacity weapons that make it so you really don't get a chance to retaliate, however in Hunt (unless you have an Avto which I rarely see) you have to score an accurate one shot if you want to catch someone without giving them a chance to shoot back. Even my girlfriend who hates PVP games, plays Hunt with me cause she enjoys the slower more methodical combat.
@xyber62 жыл бұрын
One complain wa that there aren't that many players on the map. Well let me tell you... it's too many.
@Rogue_kat2 жыл бұрын
you can even kinda argue the avto has to be played slowly too because if you just rapid fire you only have enough ammo for like 5 seconds. unless you bring another long ammo gun but in that case you are spending a ton of money on a class and are kinda limited in what you can bring for secondary

I got so sick of playing Tarkov and PubG because of all the basement dwellers who haven't left the screen since the release of those games and have nailed recoil control that I just CANNOT compare to because not only have I got shit to do that prevents me from reaching that level but I'm just not invested enough to spend enough time to nail the recoil control. BAM! In comes Hunt Showdown, a breath of fresh air for gunplay that plays exactly as you describes that bypasses that crappy full auto high capacity, no recoil gun play. I'm tryna get my GF to play the game but she doesn't do great on games like PUBG but plays with me and a buddy for a laugh, she doesn't believe me that Hunt is entirely different and that her not being a good shot in PUBG doesn't mean anything for Hunt.

@Coffee_by_Tomo2 жыл бұрын
@John Jacob Cant agree with your position. -New map is huge amount of work, and Hunt team is not so big (one of the smallest in Crytek). -Skins in Hunt is not "just reshaded guns" - its one of the best skins on all online games market. -Meta is a really hard thing for any game, and devs are try to hold all guns on good lvl. Sadly, i have no idea how to make long range mate less efficient and still good. And no one knows. -Desync is problem of the engine, so Hunt team cant fix it. Maybe if full engine dev team would fork on it - it would be solve. But again - Hunt is small game, without extreme donate. -Idk about what hakers are you talking, because I watch Psychoghost and even he (a fulltime streamer) dont see streamer a lot. I saw once cheater for a 600+ h. -Ping issue are not so important, when there are not big online. But devs allready told that they will implement region lock in future (watch last devs video about this year updates).
@karelpicka39252 жыл бұрын
@@Coffee_by_Tomo I think the region lock in Hunt was not (and currently is not) due to the relatively low player base. That's changing now, there are far more players than there were say two years ago. Two years ago, or even a year ago, I had both EU servers (ping 18-20) and US East servers (ping 90-105) enabled for search. The reason was that with only EU servers enabled I had to wait a long time for a free match. I've been EU-only for a while now, because I can get into a match almost instantly. So region lock makes a lot more sense now. But I'm going to miss it a bit. The playing style on US-East is different, I find it more aggressive so it's interesting to alternate because it changes the style of play nicely.

No game can give me the gamer shakes as bad as hunt. When both of your friends get downed and knowing that they are both watching you. Its nerve-wracking, but when you clutch up and kill the enemy team and your friends are amazed there is no better feeling. So many different situations play out in your head as you are in a gun fight "should I push with my shotgun?" "should I stay back and hold this angle?" "should I run across this path even though I know the enemy is watching but hope I run sporadically enough that they will miss their shot?" The best part of this game in my opinion is that its not frustrating. In tarkov when you go against someone with lvl 5 armor and helmet its almost impossible to kill them with a lower lvl gun and ammo, but you don't want to risk bringing your best shit and dying. In Hunt, you die? oh well buy a new hunter and run it back. Hunt is my favorite shooter to play with friends and I highly recommend it to anyone that has a PC.

At 1500 hours and still going strong. One of my all time favorite shooters (TF2 being the other). Hunt is great at creating unique scenarios and gunfights. No two fights are ever the same and after playing you'll think about the fights you had, the scenarios you got yourself into or that had happened to you. I also like how viable every weapon is. You can kill with anything, 1 shot headshots means any gun can win the fight instantly, but then since that rarely happens all their strengths and weaknesses start coming into play as the fight develops. Truly a masterpiece in gaming.

best review of hunt i ever saw! 1000hrs in i still have fun and still each match is a thin red between win and fail. hope more people get into the game and stay motivated beside the frustation it can bring. sadly some of my fellow hunters dropped out or always stop playing after one or two unsuccessfull rounds. but if you get the vibe and you find your playstyle you can have an amazing experience disregarding the outcome of a round. so in conclusion there is one thing i like to add to this review: i think, hunt is a game which is more appeling to an aged and more grown up audience (who are probably repelled by the coboys vs zombie setting at the begining) because it wants patience, thought and sweat from you. most other fps/br/pvp-games feel shallow and in other ways stressfull afterwards.

It annoys me that this game hasn't become as well known and populated as the names that come to mind when thinking of first person shooters. This is THE game you should be playing for the multiplayer, battle royal-esque gaming experience.
@byron78062 жыл бұрын
Honestly this might be an unpopular opinion but my thoughts on why the game isn’t super popular is the following. The gunplay is on point but the reward is just not there. The bounties are boring to repeat, finding players is very slow in trios (this can be seen as a good thing for some) and the play style of grabbing a bounty and running is just not engaging enough. There’s no reward for doing the fun part of the game which is the gunfights.
@uh-ohspaghettio78262 жыл бұрын
@@byron7806 Huh. It sounds like you just don't mix with the vibe of the games purpose because most of those things are what seperate this game from the rest and makes it worth playing. I feel like they've balanced the hunter count per match perfectly when considering the dangers of the mobs and bosses. Don't get me wrong they can definitely add new stuff in and should but the with how easy it is to track hunters I would hate for them to add even more per match. The game let's you get familiar with bosses and mobs but it doesn't eliminate the dangers they pose or the even greater danger they may lead you to if they pin you and you're forced to fire shots and attract hunters. As for the reward element, I suppose I can agree there. I think there needs to be a bit more, which is why I personally would of loved the idea of customized characters, each win could help you unlock cool new attire etc but I dunno
@byron78062 жыл бұрын
@@uh-ohspaghettio7826 Yeah for sure man I agree the reason people love the game is the slow playstyle, I think straying away from that would kill the current playerbase because it hits a niche but that niche is small. Duos is what i would consider perfect in terms of players but in trios you got so many games that nothing happens in and once you've played the game for a while the pve pretty lack luster. The main reason me and friends stopped is there isn't enough going on at times. Grabbing clues is as simple as kill the one mob on top of it and move on. The bounty its self gets stale really quick and there is barely any change up in each boss. Once playing for a while there's nothing fun to do except pvp which at times can be ruined by the bad spawns of bosses next to escape points or players taking too long get to the boss locations. Having some more rewards would 100% help increase the enjoyment of game along with a bit more spice to each location and objective you're doing. This is just how I view the game tho and if you enjoy it how it is that's totally fine I do think they've done a great job on the combat and the atmosphere this is just why I believe its not as popular because it caters to a niche audience.

@@byron7806 unfortunately game is not designed well for trios. I can argue that even solo is more fun than trios. Duos are never boring (pc).

I want you to know that this is the best introduction to Hunt I've seen. It's a hype video and a partial review, I have it saved to favourites and show it first to friends who ask me about the game. So fun to be a new player in the bayou.

Great video! I will use it to promote hunt among my friends. That way I may convince someone still, to play hunt. Unfortunately as you mantioned that game can really hard to begginers, so many of my mates have quit hunt after frustrating moments, rather to play "easier" more forgiving games. I would like also to mention that if you spend many hours playing hunt, especially as a solo, all monsters AI witch was terrifying when you are beginner, become just obstacle when you know how to deal with them or even better - avoid them. However even you may loose that horror aspect to the game you will gain that feeling that you are true swamp born, experienced hunter, you know what you doing and hunting time just begins.

Hunt is a game where i first hated it. I was the 50% where i quit and thought it was a waste. But i came back to it on a whim and my god im so happy I did. This game is so unique and fantastic and the devolopers are so hard working and responsive to their community its breathtaking just how much love is put into this game and im thankful i bought it that day and came back to it.

Also if you never have yet go in for a double bow / cross bow run or all melee + throwable round every now and then. It's a real adrenalin rush!

I think i should have got this game way earlier, but was thinkin' it's not for me. I play it every day now when i'm not on a work shift, can't get enough of it, this game hits my every checkbox^ - Difficult - Complex - Easy to pick up There's more but you got the idea. It's basically Rainbow Six Siege on an open map, where You decide if you wanna enter the building with a team in it or not, when to push, when to back off, when to wait and so on, it has so much depth that i don't wanna see this game die.

When playing other games like apex, cod, ect. You feel like its you and your loadout vs other players and their loadouts. In hunt with good headphones especially, you feel like an actual hunter. Its the most immersive game ive ever played. Like youre really in the world, really hunting abominations along with other players. When me and my brother play, its beyond any description i could think of. The tension, the atmosphere. Perfect.

Been playing since March of 2018. 1,300 hours. I don't play every day, but I play quite a bit. Hunt is a unique game, mixing so many genres into a genre all its own. I don't think I could ever stop playing. Also yes, night maps have always been exceedingly dark, it's not just you.

@@Bullet. Good, maybe I'll see you in the bayou then! I'll admit, the game doesn't give me the same adrenaline high it used to all those years ago, but it still is special to me, and will always be a game a come back to sooner or later. Been playing with the same handful of people more or less pretty much this whole time. For all of us, it's the nostalgia and chasing the adrenaline rushes we used to get. Anyway, great video and I'm glad someone else has found this game and sees it for what it is, too many people die once and quit. It's a shame too, but Hunt can be tough to learn on your own.

Everyone seems to miss this but this game is designed to be played in stereo and not surround. Playing in surround is not the correct way to experience the audio design and will mess you up in terms of how far or something is close by. While hoont has great horizontal audio design, its vertical audio is no way near perfect and breaks badly depending on inside and outside areas. 4 years and 10k hours so far in game.
