What's So Special About Louis Roederer CRISTAL Champagne?

I tried cristol on accident tonight. My girlfriend and I went to a steak house in our city for my birthday and she bought a $60 Louis Roederer, we didn't realize they had brought out the $400 bottle. The champagne was delicious, we were pretty shocked when the bill came though. We let the waitress know and she took $100 dollars off the check. Still in shock and can only laugh rn.

😮😮😮 What? I really hope it was a good experience, because that is a very expensive bottle not everyone can afford to pay for. I mean, even 300$ is still crazy. Therefore I truly hope it was an overall good experience and it was ruined by the check. ✨🥂

@@NoSediment Luckily we're not too hard up for money rn, the bottle was amazing though. Truly a once in a lifetime thing for me though. We laughed about it for a good hour and plan on displaying the case it came in.

Hey, you got to try it. I opened 6 bottles Cristal during 2 year covid. Looking back, I feel sad as they were much less than now. But 1 thing i got it from my wine seller is that "you never look back how much you spent! It was worthy. " He also told me you should look forward and buy more at current higher price as long as you enjoy it. Cheers🎉. Cristal worths it with special moment and special someone. Life is such a box of Chocolate though😂

I opened a bottle Cristal 1999 this summer and it was one of the best Champagne i´ve ever had. Still fresh and some bubbles around. That was an unforgettable experience. Btw. I love your videos, especially your lovely dog 😉 Regards from Heidelberg in Germany

Some people have told me that Cristal really opens up with age, so I guess You hit the right spot! Having that experience is amazing! I have tasted some from the 70ties from Magnum bottles, great wines as well! My dog and I send warmest greetings from Latvia! Cheers! 🍷🍾🥂

Very informative. Didn’t realise that Pinot Noir grapes make up the majority of the blend. And the sugar levels. No wonder I like it and it ages so well. My favourite champagnes are blanc de noirs. Terrific intro🤺

So, Cristal is a “grower” champagne? Cool! It was the first vintage champagne I ever had. And it is still my absolute favorite. I’ve had all their others, including both the Hommage Camille white and red. Fantastic house.

It is is a good question, because “for real” we can only see it as it ages. But this bottle was still very tight and closed, I would say. I would like to taste it again after another 5-7 years. Maybe even 10. ✨🥂🍾

I am not going to lie, it is a possibility. However, the pressure is high, and it usually pushes away the residual glass shards. 🥂🗡️

Crystal is a good way to discern someone's knowledge of champagne in the sense that when asking for it they have little. Louis Roederer is the largest estate in Champagne (242ha) and the vineyards are, accordingly to different sources, "mostly in Grand Cru villages", "on a mix of Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages" or, my favourite take and straightforward lying "from grand Cru villages". Vilmart makes way better champagnes from Premier Cru provenance.

If I would have to guess, I would say that the largest vineyard owner in Champagne is Moët & Chandon. 🤷‍♀️ I agree, that Vilmart makes great champagnes, but unfortunately not anymore exclusively from his own vineyards. Long now his label says NM instead of RM. 😬 Anyway, Cheers! ✨🥂🍾
