Sorry for the long video but this video I share our experience with all the bottles that we've been using with Noctis since he was 2 weeks old. We ended up trying many different brands of bottles for fun and to see which one Noctis would like. Some have been good, others... not so much.
We used a bunch of different bottle brands including:
Dr. Brown's baby bottles
Dr. Betta baby bottles
Comotomo baby bottles
Tommee Tippee baby bottles
Hegen baby bottles
Pigeon baby Bottles
Nano Bebe baby bottles
Medela Calma
Mother-K baby bottles (K-mom)

Hegen is bloody expensive here but Dr Betta is cheaper in my country. Also, loved that you named your son Noctis!

How did your partner start exclusive pumping? How to establish the pumping could you please share

My wife started exclusively pumping basically by week 2. Due to some issues during the epidural process and Noctis's latching not necessarily being great, that's the route we decided to go. My wife basically pumped as if she was feeding. So at first when Noctis was feeding every 2 - 3 hours, she would be pumping every 2 - 3 hours. It was definitely a lot of work for both parents because if mommy is pumping, it's best if daddy can help with feeding and cleaning the bottles and stuff since mommy is still recovering from giving birth especially early on. Also, my wife learned the hard way that if she did skip once, there would be engorgement and blockage that also motivated her to pump on schedule. She was luckily able to build supply even when pumping early on due to a pretty good diet from our post partum meals, she had an ok amount of sleep (not great but not terrible) and I'm not sure if this is correct way to go about it, but she did tend to pump for longer periods of time. In the beginning, she would always empty her milk stock (which required pumping for 30 min per session) and she was quickly able to build up a supply. In fact we had way too much supply for a while but of course every mom/person is different so sometimes it just depends on their body. Hope this helps =D

@@cbcdad5160 Oh my goodness I can't say enough thank you for all these detailed information. And you are such a supportive dad and husband. I am thinking of exclusive pumping since last time I had pretty bad tear from breastfeeding and was so sore breastfeeding for the first 2,3 weeks. How did you guys both managed to sleep ok? Did you have a schedule on taking turns to bed? Or your baby is a good sleeper?

@@mws6267 We were definitely lucky that Noctis was a pretty good sleeper. Unfortunately I'm a deep sleeper so even Noctis crying couldn't wake me up. So we ended up doing shifts where my wife would sleep pretty early (maybe 7/8)? and I would stay up to feed Noctis around 12 - 1 (my wife would still need to wake up to pump though) and my wife would do the next feed around 3 and pump at the same time. So she was still tired but I would try and help out by making sure everything was clean and ready for her for the 3am round of feeding. So although most of that time was a blur, I do remember doing a lot of cleaning of bottles, pumps, and more basically every feed because we only had the 1 set of parts for the pump. Having a bottle sterilizer/dryer was definitely a life saver. Luckily, Noctis was a really good sleeper so at 2.5 months, we just had to dream feed Noctis at around 12 - 1 and then he would sleep till basically 6 the next day. .

@@cbcdad5160 Wow you are an amazing dad! And you and your wife did a great job. I will definitely discuss using your schedule for a reference for our plans. I nursed my older kid constantly(every 2hrs over the night) until she's 2.5. That nearly killed me. This time is for a change! Thanks a lot again. And enjoy your beautiful baby and life being a parent! All the best!

How can I purchase Dr.Betta bottles in USA??
@cbcdad5160
@cbcdad5160 2 жыл бұрын
In Vancouver where I live, there are quite a few baby stores that specifically carry more Asian made baby goods. Things that are from Japan, Taiwan, Korea etc. If that's not available where you live, then just doing a quick google search, it seems like websites like www.japanesetaste.com carries it. (not affiliated with them in any way) Good luck with your search~

The brand of sterilizer we used was UPANG. It worked really well for us especially since we kept washing and drying bottles since we started bottle feeding so early.
