Thank you for this review, I've been interested in ICM for a while.

I don't build planes, but I still love these comparison videos. They are done very nicely in a very relaxed way while still being based on fact, not mere opinion.

Next one will be on the Mosquito, and I've done others on the F-35 and Starter Tool Kits

As an Australian with long interest in Australian WWII aircraft. I'm really looking forward to seeing your assessment of the different Beaufort kits.

You know, as almost 40% of all Beauforts were DAP manufactured, I'm surprised there aren't many options for these aircraft. Hamilton Hobbies do a 1/48 Mk VIII for the ICM kit, which is probably the best option, otherwise you're left with the High Planes 1/72nd kit and detail sets. Seems a shame as I'm sure there are many modellers who would like to do a RAAF aircraft.

I'm currently reading about the fighting around New Guinea during WW2 and those Australian pilots were badass. My next kit is gonna be a CAC Boomerang I think.

I found a Encore Beufort in my stash before I packed it up to move. Turns out to be a reboxing of the Frog kit from the mid-90s. When I get to the new house, I'll end up building.

These comparison videos are my favourites. Kits themselves are at least as much an interest for me as the subjects, it's so interesting to see how the technology has improved.

I have recently finished the ICM Beaufort 1A and converted it to an RAAF MK6, (being an Aussie I do this with any aircraft used by the RAAF)really enjoyed the build. Great Video on comparing the older kits to the new ones, thanks. I hope ICM might decide to an RAAF MK8 version with the different Tail, engines and Nacelles, again thanks Paul

The inclusion of a Twin Wasp variant would have been the tie breaker for detail.

I built the Frog one back in the 1970's. That was the only one that was available back then.

Frog should get a bonus point for getting you to build a Dalek!

I am missing the 1/72 Special Hobby Beaufort. Superb deatails cast in resin + etchfret. How accurate? Looks ok to me. Short run kit so hard to get.
@MannsModelMoments Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Special Hobby kit is not generally available, hence not included here as I don't have it

I really enjoyed this video and you are clear about potential conflict of interests and that to some extent that you are comparing Apples and oranges. There is so much Airfix bagging on line because someone has bought a cheap Airfix kit first moulded in the 1960s and compared it with 2023 standards so it is really good that you clear about the basis for you comparison. The Australian or DAP production was lightly different as it used the twin wasp engines (which were produced under licence in Australia) and different propellers. This might be a trap for new players! Cheers

A Canadian option on the Airfix 1/72 would be great, eh
