very good video, informative. I have HA running on a Raspberry Pi 5 with an nvme, and runs pretty quickly. I wasn't aware HA could run on other platforms until you mentioned it.

Really good video, thanks. I have been runnign HAOS on HP EliteDesk 800 G3, with 8GB ram and M.2 SSD for 2 years now in to different houses. It runs super stabil og fast. The EliteDesk can be found for around 100 euros where in Denmark. The PC is way over powered, but it is cheap. Easy to setup. Just load HAOS x86 on the SSD put it back into the pc and off you go. Only thing to remember is the config the BIOS so the PC will automatic start again after power outage.

Running a Lenovo ThinkCenter i5, with Virtual box as a VM, it runs just fine. Bought a second one for back up and may configure this to run HA OS.

Lenovo mini for me. Way more processor than needed but has nvme drive, is quiet, no noticeable fan noise, low power usage, upgradable.

Yeah, I can't comment on others but I ended up with 4 Lenovo minis. HA on one, Linux debain with docker for Frigate, and 2 spares I swap out sometimes and keep backed up in case I totally mess one up. They are all in the M9xxx verity.

There are so many options available as shown in the video. Disk space, ram and CPU will all play a part in your journey with Home Assistant.

I've got HAOS running on a HP T610 AMD G-T56N 1.65GH THIN CLIENT. I changed the 16 GB ssd to a 160 GB a spinning disk and it runs just fine. At the moment it's only got 2 GB ram but I'll upgrade this to 8 GB next year so that once I really start adding smart stuff to my home it's not going to have a problem running everything. And the best thing is, only paid £15.88 delivered complete with the PSU.

Yes those HP thin clients are a wolf in sheep's clothing, seeing them used in so many projects lately. Great price as well👍

I'd already recorded a lot of this whilst reviewing the iSG Display Max but absolutely that would sit in this list and I've added it to the links in the description now.👍

Don't muck around with underpowered devices.. Run it on an Intel NUC or equivalent like a Dell micro PC...

PROS & CONS for both really, just depends on your needs and your end game. However they are cheap enough not to ignore and are equally low power as well.
