I like the stainless brush for thick moss/algae but why not just soft wash the roof instead of using your WFP?
@aemackintosh3 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by soft wash? If you mean pressure wash on a lower pressure, I wouldn’t take that approach on a roof like this as explained in the video. If you mean Hypo, I don’t use hypo on roofs as it is quite harsh and could damage the roof or surrounding area. I have applied a softwash/biocide solution to the roof using my wfp setup. This will kill off the organic growth and thus improve the condition of the roof without damaging the surface in any way.😃👍🏼

As a builder. Mucking around cleaning roofs is a con.. And 90% of the time causes more harm than good. Especially on a pin tile roof!!
@aemackintosh3 жыл бұрын
I have customers who regularly get blockages in their gutters or debris falling on the ground below and the root cause is the build up of moss on the roof. It can also hold water which can cause cracks and damage to the tiles when it freezes in winter.

Did you clean all the moss from the gutters…? Solve one problem cause another…! What about the tiles that had been broken or pushed up…? Did you replace them or pull the tiles back down. No… because if you went up the roof with a small scaffolding you would have broken more roof tiles and caused more damage….. FYI. Moss does not effect the performance of any roof. Scraping the old tiles and then putting strong killer over the old fragile tiles make the tile more porous, so you just reduced the life span of the roof…. Good job. 🤦♂️
@aemackintosh3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the job always includes cleaning out the gutters afterwards, eliminating the root cause of potential blockages later. Biocides won’t harm the surface being treated in any way. Thanks anyway for your comments.
