What's the best refill for the awesome Zebra Blen pen ( • Zebra Blen Pen Review ... )? You're going to want to pick up a Zebra EQ refill, like the "Zebra EQ Surari Emulsion Ink Pen Refill - 1.0 mm - Blue". In the US it's sold in 2-packs and called the Z-Mulsion ( amzn.to/2T4z6rf ).

Thank you so much for this! I have a non-branded wooden pen that I bought in China and appears to take this refill. I have been looking for ages for refills and have in fact been afraid to use the pen as I have never been able to find a refill in a store in the US or Germany. Mystery solved!!!

I'm a pen collector - but! I'm left-handed, so that complicates things. I bought a bLen pen from JetPens and love it - it's so easy to write with. I was having a hard time finding refills, and I thought I would have to throw the pen away once the ink ran out. But now that I've seen this video, I know I can keep and use this pen for a long time!

These Surari EQ refills will fit many other pens as well - Jetstream pens and even some metal pens designed for GEL refills, like Pentel Philography or Zebra Sarasa Grand. I'm not a big fan of Surari ink, though...

Can you hack refills for zebra surari as well? I want to write with a gel ink rather than their emulsion ink.

I was just able to trim an Acroball refill and get it to fit. (The site I was ordering from last time was out of the 1.0 black Surari refills.) The tip sticks out a little more than I’d like, but I have an idea of how I may be able to fix that. It writes fine the way it is. It’s just not as aesthetically pleasing. Closing my eyes and writing with both, the Surari is just slightly smoother. However, the Acroball dries faster.

Are there any quality gel ink refills that would also work? I was hoping to use my LR Pentel refills, but they aren't quite narrow enough to fit in the Blen.

Will the JF refills fit into the Surari?

I don't think they will, if the Surari takes the same size as the Blen. They're the same length, but the JF is thicker - 6.2mm, against the 4.2mm of the Blen/Surari refill.

Thinking of giving this a try. Is it like Jetstream 1.0 smoothness? How do they compare? Looking at my options I don't see anything less than a 10 pack of these refills online. Unless there is a pen I can buy that comes with the EQ 1.0?

Not quite jetstresm 1.0 smooth but pretty solid. And it sure what is sold with a zebra 1.0mm at this point. Nothing comes to mind

Will it absolutely not fit the Pentel Energel refill? I was thinking to buy this pen for 5usd here. Love its looks but cant give up the gel ink...

I was watching this video because I was wondering the same thing! I've just realised though that Jetpens lists the exact dimensions in the specifications it gives for each type - and from that, alas, the answer would seem to be "unlikely". The Zebra NC refill used by the bLen (NC-0.5 or NC-0.7) is indeed the same length as the Pentel LR7 used in the Energel, at c. 111mm. But the NC is only 4.2mm wide, so it's noticeably _slimmer_ than the LR7, which is about 6.2mm. The same goes for the Zebra JF gel refill (which fits e.g. their Sarasa Vintage range), which I was also hoping might be a good substitute in the bLen. Again it's the same length, but it is similarly thicker at c. 6.1mm. So the JF and the Pentel Energel refills should be swappable with each other (they are also the same length and thickness as a standard 'Euro' rollerball refill, a discovery that started me down this rabbit hole in the first place...), but neither should fit the bLen body unless there's a fair bit of wiggle room in there.
