Good stuff, very informational. I love the concept of the robotic cleaners, much more efficient at cleaning and really cut back on energy costs. In the end I went with pressure side for one reason only…..I can keep the cleaner in the pool and just empty the bag when it gets full. Robotic cleaners want to be removed from the pool after each cleaning. I liked the “set it and forget it” route. If you want a pressure side cleaner that doesn’t require a booster then go with the Polaris 360.

That's a great point: they're actually better at cleaning than humans in some regard! Sounds like you like the Polaris and it's working well for you 👍 They're a great brand!

I appreciate the video and other helpful stuff, but I wish he would have specifically addressed robotic pool cleaners for above ground/semi-inground pools.

Robotic pool cleaners are still our favorite for above ground pools! Though Polaris makes a great Suction-Side cleaner, too. Here's a list of specific cleaners for above ground pools: www.swimuniversity.com/above-ground-pool-cleaners/

@SwimUniversity So i run a water park, we have hammer head vacuums, auto vacuums, and mini hand ones. One issue inside our curvy lazy river the auto only goes back and forth. The river is way to big for one person to always take a hammer head vacuum to it. what pool vacuum would you recommend. Finances is no problem.

I used to have an aquabot, but they are out of business. I got a dolphin, which is good but the fine filter trap doesn't hold all the dirt like the aquabot fine velcro bags worked. Some of the small dirt always is in the middle of the pool. Any advice?

Can you touch on cordless vaccumes? I have one that doesn't seem to get fine algae out of the pool. Id rather not buy a whole new vacuum if there is a solution like filter socks etc.
@SwimUniversity6 ай бұрын
They really aren't designed to eliminate fine algae, unfortunately. The solution is shocking and better water chemistry first. Then cleaning and running your filter more.

I have an aquabot classic. Can I use that on an above ground pool?
@SwimUniversity9 ай бұрын
As long as it has the softer, smooth wheels and soft bristles that won't rip up your vinyl, you should be good to go!
@michaeljanerico73009 ай бұрын
@@SwimUniversity it does not have wheels it has the rubber track and rubber bristles. Just like the one you highlighted in a previous/older video.

Whomever invented these cleaners deserves a Nobel Prize.! We have had two diffrent types. I would not recommend the bag type. I think they are harder to clean. And get the largest you can afford. Pool opening set for May 6th! I am excited. We are suppose to have 2-6 inches of snow tomorrow!

and so here I am looking for a cleaner since my pool maintenance company doesn't do a great job of cleaning the pool (they only do it once a month) and it doesn't look clean to me. I understand it needs to be done at least once a week....

Im on number 3, day 2 with it and just like my 2nd unit the logic seems completely fucked. The 1st one did good but the electronics failed. The 2nd showed up with a faulty charging port, which I didn’t realize right way, and it missed so many spots. Paid a good 700. I have a Grecian shaped pool and the majority of the floor is sloped, I’m willing to bet the super would do better in a round or rectangle pool with flat floors only. The manual shows no stepped floors, doesn’t say anything about angled

Whatever you do don’t buy the one without a name that looks like a cool Tonka truck. Ive read that it’s made by Aquafysh , Imitek or Poolelf but you won’t find that on the packaging or product.Its made in China and is yellow with big black wheels and a clear cover. I was lucky, mine lasted a season. I’ve read a lot of reviews stating that theirs only worked a few times and then died.

I built my own and is was cheap and works better than all of these. Buy a submersible pump and a 1 micron bag filter, plus about 5 metres of flexible vacuum pipe. Find a way to attach the long pole to the pump and hag the bag up over the pool...then just use it like a hoover. When the bag is full hose it out. I can clean my 50m3 pool in about 1/2 hour from the poolside. Or I can put a shorter handle on and walk around in the water. Cost be less than £100 for everything.
