I am Back! Sorry had a Emergency I had to deal with over the weekend but I am here now. They recently changed First Strike to get 10g on activation instead of 15g. A decent nerf but not that bad since its still very strong. I would recommend running FS on support primarily and comet in the mid lane. If you are facing a super farm lane like vs galio or another tank definetly run FS but for pretty all matchups Comet our go to. As for Support just go FS. As Xerath Support I kinda feel the need for First Strike tho. Rushing my first item seems like a must, and the extra cookies do help against tanky supps. However, Morgana's W has so much range and it's so easy to land that it makes me want to pick comet just for her, since she always manages to deny my FS proc whenever I'm trying to land a W.

is Xerath mid good for low/mid elo? Like gold/platinum

It can be really frustrating. Since you can’t really 1v9/carry with xerath you are dependent on your team not inting and knowing how to play around you. You can be fed as much as you want without your team your games will be lost. But you can try it out and look what kind of experience you’re going to have. gl hf

Honestly, tier lists and so on is bait for views on youtube. It is only relevant in the highest level of play because in Gold/Plat there will be so many mistakes that you can make any champion work. However: I would say that picking champs with mobility such as Ahri will land you a better win-rate quicker as a fairly low cooldown on ult and having multiple dashes takes out some fundamentals of the game such as not relying on flash to be up when you have lane priority and shove, forgets to ward etc. where as Xerath requires you to play aggressive with poke early and shove the lane with low mobility so if you are not good at the fundamentals of league and follow ward-timers, hover the right side and jungle tracking you can become a very easy target and feed your ass off. If you fall off on Xerath you will have a very hard time as you only bring damage (tiny CC on E ability but hard to initiate fights with you rely on teammates to use their cc first) to the game where as other champs can remain relevant in situations where you fuck up. Moreover, he is not a good side-laner so you tend to fall off in the mid-game because it is harder for you to keep the farm numbers up and stay with your team (or die a lot - he is easy to pick off once he doesnt have a teammate or turret around). When this is said you should play what brings you joy and he is definitly a fun champ to pick up and can be very rewarding in the right situation. Against a squishy comp with low range (avoidable damage) that doesnt build magic resist he can HARD carry and pick people off from a screen away - and this happens fairly often in the elo bracket you talk about. So there would be some games where I think he would be a nobrainer - but no as consistent as picks that bring more and allow for more mistakes. You basically need to play him perfect also in terms of itemization to really carry (this is just my opinion on him)
