Its the best base sauce on the market, try adding a bottle of open pit to a blender, add cherry and apple preserves and 1/2 cup of honey and it makes one bad ass rib glaze.

I tried hundreds and hundreds bof BBQ sauce and let me tell you best hands down is kinders original bbq sauce absolutely amazing. Coming in a close 2nd is The Shed southern sweet BBQ sauce. Mark my words you will love these sauces .

There are a lot of variables. What type of meat are you cooking? Do you like a sweet, smoky, spicy, a thick or thin sauce, or a tomato sauce or vinegar base? Also do you heat up the sauce. That can really change the taste too. A sauce I like that wasn't on this list, but I know you have talked about in the past is Blue Hogs original. A sauce I like for ribs is Wright BBQ Peach Chipotle from Clanton Alabama.

I used to buy a brand called " Garland Jack's secret six" It was the best. but they quit selling it and I heard they were bought out. Anyone heard of that one? Head country and stubbs are very good but that one was the best. Wish I could find it again.

I'm 62 and grew up on OPEN PIT while growing up in the midwest. Since I found out that I need to lower my sugar and salt intake i've grown to like STUBBS sauce. It has HALF the sugar and just tastes great!

I love the sweet baby rays most. If you counted all brown sauces as bbq sauces then it would be hp but that’s not a bbq sauce. Sweet baby rays will always be best.

HP sauce is a UK brand and expensive in the States but dam that stuff is good! I learned of it from a buddy I met online gaming from Scotland and I ordered a bottle from a Scothish store in North Carolina I believe. Very vinegar taste but also awesome on meat pies. Haven't had in awhile now I gotta get me some more. HP stands for house of Parliament and I belive Heinz bought them out but not big here in USA

Open Pit was never supposed to be used as a stand alone sauce, its a base sauce. If you add that bottle to a blender, add Apple and Cherry Preserves, and add 1/2 cup of Honey, it makes one hell of a rib sauce, and makes the rib look candy apple red. Stand alone sauces. I will have to roll with Judgement Day, Blues Hog Original and Kosmos original. Try using KC Masterpiece on Ribs during comp and see what score you get lol, you wont even score a 6 on taste.

CorvusOfMellori love that Sauce, too. Good thing it's available everywhere here in Germany while a lot of other sauces are hard to find. One of my all time favorite is the stockyard harvest apple sauce with some nice hotwings. Stubbs pecan is great with spicy chicken, too.

Everyone likes stubbs because it LOOKS like a damn good bbq sauce. The packaging makes it appear like the best when in reality it just tastes like katsup, salt, pepper and honey. Get yourself some sticky fingers, or if u want all natural, rib rack

bbq. is 100% subjective.. depends if youike more or less tomato. more or less tang/sweet. spice. pepper. etc.. for me its Stubs then baby ray... but for different situations. bbq sauce for chicken tenders isnt the same for ribs or brisket or chicken.

Thicker sauces are better for Beef, Runnier sauces are better for Pork, and Thinner sauce is better for chicken. Chicken- Head Country Sweet and Spicy Brisket- Blues Hog Original Pork- Open Pit blended with fruit preserves

Well, I would first start with who makes the MOST functional squeeze bottle: *that goes to HEINZ.* After that, the question should be about which bbq sauce is sweet & which one is vinegary. This is how most people will determine which sauce they prefer the best on their meats & vegetables. It's the STYLE of bbq sauce. Now separate the vinegar base & sweet base sauces into two categories, and from there begin your review. Because sweet & vinegar base sauces are vastly different. In the end, there should be your #1 sweet base bbq sauce & #1 vinegar base sauce.

Arthur Bryant's is the best bbq sauce I've ever had in my life. I'm a Kansas City native and trust me Arthur Bryant's is hands down better than Kc Masterpiece. Arthur Bryant's sauce is very unique compared to other sauces. It has alot of spices but not much heat it's almost like a liquid rub. Trust me you will not find any other sauce with the same taste of Arthur Bryant's. I always have a bottle in the fridge I can literally drink it straight. lol

It depends what you're doing with it. If you are using it on smoked meat, don't buy a sauce with liquid smoke added, it's acrid and you are smoking the meat already, why add fake smoke flavor? If you're just dunking chicken nuggets or cooking meat in your oven, then you might want a sauce with added smoke flavor. And it's not important how it tastes off a spoon -that's not how you're going to eat it. What matters is how it compliments the food you are eating it with. That said, if you tried Stubbs on some brisket, it would be a winner. If you're dunking chicken nuggets, on of the sweeter, thicker sauces would probably be best.

the only way to taste test bbq sauces is to put them on grilled meat. this is especially true of sauces heavy on the vinegar. eating it out of the bottle is absurd
