What's The "BEST" Telescope To Start Astrophotography?

What's the best telescope to start astrophotography? There's no definitive answer to that question but in this video I'll discuss some key things to take into consideration when you're trying to decide which telescope is best for you?

Gotta love equipment videos!!! That's quite the impressive lineup you have there Dave. I started with the Canon 75-300mm lens and that was a great introduction to astro for me. Then went to the SpaceCat (Absolutely love that scope), and now the EdgeHD. I'm hoping in the future to add something like your ED102 to my collection 😜

Already having photography equipment drove my initial choice with a SkyGuider, Oct. 2018. Shortly thereafter, and since I already committed to astrophotography, the EQ6-R GoTo mount and a William Optics Zenithstar 103 711mm focal length. In hindsight, a wide field refractor like a RedCat should have been my first choice. The learning curve would have been much easier and possibly more enjoyable at the time. Since I've gotten past that all bets were off and the rabbit hole has gone deep. I now have a Rokinon 135mm, 8" RASA, Ioptron 8" OTA, Nexstar 8SE OTA, Meade LX85 GoTo mount, multiple ASI cameras, Nikon 810A, Canon T3i, OAG, EAF and a ASIAIR +. Now all I need are clear skies to use this stuff. :)

Nice overview Dave. In my Opinion Its Reflector, I bought my First 'Imaging Setup' Last Year, a 5 inch Newt. Been great For Visual, Planetary and Some Deep Sky Imaging. I like The Contrast Of a Good Refector, my Next Step is To get an Ed Doublet or A Small APO. It would be Cool to have two Scopes For Imaging and Visual!
