Fun fact on the masterpiece KO the foe-forming is mainly to replicate the one drawing of him in the movie's poster. I've Gone through scenes of G1 and I honestly can't find the tiny wheel detailing because the foot is just mainly solid blue so I think it's just a poster thing

I would have loved to have covered that, I have solid Expectations for it. I sincerely doubt it could have taken the top Spot from the Iron Factory which is as I said one of the most poseable figures of all time, giving even the Optus Pexus a Run for it's Money. I don't know man, it was at least 30 people who told me you covered the figure, like one guy mentioned Shartimus, one guy thought Baltmatrix covered it, (Which balt hasn't) and just a Deluge of people saying you reviewed it. I don't like giving repeat answers to people so it got difficult to respond to all the people who brought you up. I honestly just broke down eventually and started giving people Canned Responses.

Tbf in the defence of the spoiler ultra Magnus it would have been hard to do the massive hole megatron shot on him. And yeah the pylons are what really needed attention, and sure they couldn't have put a huge hole in his chest, but tehy could have implied one. Personally, I feel like it's the Combiner Wars one. It's not the most G1 accurate, it's got a load of accessories poses well for a standard figure from that era, had the bonus Minimus Ambus, and the vehicle mode is solid. Plus, he requires absolutely no partsforming.

Thank you very much. Yes it does work, but like I pointed out in the video it doesn't clip in, the tabs will rest under a lip on him, but the connection is very weak. It's not a serious problem, as the back clips work just fine holding it on, but the front will flip up with no effort. And that does sound like a fine idea, Honestly though you might want to steal the thighs off the Kingdom one as well that way you get those nice CRISP white ones in the Armored mode.

I guess you don't have the CW edition... He's the 100% IDW version you were looking for, and also within millimeters at most of exactly the same size as G1 Magnus right down to shoulder joint and pylon height. It's a tossup if I like him more than WFCS; the rescale shrink makes that one fit better when displayed with my other mostly-WFC figures, but he is more of a mixture of Uotra Magnus and Car Robots' God Magnus, who is a considerably different character. Not enough to have made me buy two or four or even one more minor variation of the mold for ER/K or Galaxy Force Convoy and whichever other versions were released (A Power Master and Star Convoy I think? Elephino, I have reissue Star Convoy and original GF Convoy and they're plenty good enough on their own.) Um. I had a point but then got distracted and now I don't remember. CW Magnus is nice? His ankles are concerningly thin little struts that have to be balanced half-way extended in the big bulky shells of his calves to have his feet actually suitably positioned to stand stably, but he is decently posable as long as you didn't get one of the ones with one shoulder assembled backwards so the joint that's supposed to let it bend outward instead only bends inward, and definitely worth picking up if you like the IDW look. And the Minimus Ambus figure is cute, if much more finicky than the tiny Hot Rod serving much the same purpose in Star Convoy, if only due to having better articulation in its own right. (Though that Micromaster Roddy is itself noteable for having as much poseability and being fairly accurate to the G1 Hot Rod toy too)

I never picked up the SG version. I honestly think it would wind up kind of low, because the SG Design was based on Laser Optimus Prime, so it actually being an Ultra Magnus, means that it would be a lot less accurate.

honestly with the siege magnus you don't need the kingdom one, just grab your nearest wfc box, clip the plastic hook off and then cut it down to the size of the aviators then colour, glue and there you go, sure no light piping but its not terrible

When I was a kid I always thought of Ultra Magnus as a sort of rip-off Optimus Prime because of the colour scheme and commander-like personality. I've definitely warmed up to the guy as a result of IDW's Mtmte comics, that version of Magnus is my favourite for sure.

I mean there always another figure I should have had, and I would have liked to cover that in this video, but it would have likely lost out on the "Accuracy to the Classic Interpretation" Catagory, and while he would have done fine in the "Version he is supposed to be" it's not a complete replacement for the main one, and I doubt he Poses better than the Ironfactory, or transforms better than the MP. So he definitely would not have won. Might have come in ahead of the WFC version though.

...yeah, the WFC Trilogy has not been a good outing for Ultra Magnus. I will say this, he looks amazing in robot mode, especially Kingdom, NGL I will say I've never seen an Ultra Magnus look more accurate to what I remember of the character than that, and one that carries "the feel". But that's really such a low hurdle to clear considering everything else.... Faults aside, for me, in the end, the Combiner Wars mold is still meets all of these at the middle for a pretty fun toy with a simple yet intuitive transformation that results in clean vehicle (and actually functional too) and decently posable robot mode, but one that is WAY more posable than the Masterpiece and is only worse than the WFCT mold...even if I think it didn't have to be. I do wish you had one as a fun Ultra Magnus to fiddle with, not necessarily as a representation of any version of the character. I'd actually argue that if Hasbro just revisited this mold, and even if they had to slightly downscale it to match the new scale, which I've proven they could, he could be a better Commander class for Kingdom than Rodimus, assuming the argument was the engineering required to have a Combiner Wars Magnus-esque WFCT toy that also had an Optimus Magnus mode would require him to be a (City) Commander.

I think it's been a fine outing but it could have been great. I really wish I had one of those this feels really incomplete without one. I do think Ultra Magnus may not justify Commander scale, but he justify's it more than Rodimus.

I would suggest getting a CW Magnus or a Tamara legends Magnus it fucking outclasses siege Magnus in almost everyway outside of head articulation like seriously the articulation is amazing the look of the figure is amazing and he's more accurate in height since Magnus and Grimlock are meant to be the same height but as Grimlock is way taller then siege Magnus whilst CW Magnus is half a head taller still inaccurate but way closer
