HMMM A musical about the character of Jesus Christ Featuring a scene with many gay looking characters That grab each other’s waists Also the musical itself suggesting Jesus wasn’t Son of God And that he didn’t resurrect And with the fanbase making multiple theories that the characters of Judas and Jesus are in a gay relationship Maybe I say Maaaaybe This is why some religious people aren’t fans of this depiction But if your argument is “they dislike it therefore they fat and stupid” Then don’t be shocked when people dislike you as well

may not be the most devout christian (a few discrepancies between my beliefs and what the greater church does) i really enjoy this more than the 1973 version. while they both tell a story about the selfishness of jesus, the human reason for judas’ betrayal, and a pilate that doesn’t truly want to condemn jesus, this one does it way better and is more convincing with pilate’s case, as well as feeling more coherent

Okay so this is the first movie where they obviously didn't cast because of singing ability or acting ability. So...why did they cast these people? Jesus being blonde with perfect ringlets, muscles, and blue eyes makes me so uncomfortable. How do people prefer this to the 1973 version?
@number6villageangel Жыл бұрын
I felt overall it gave a better glimpse into the characters than the 73 movie, which also had a lot of sound and visual issues where it looked and sounded washed out a lot of the time. 2000 feels a lot more condensed in time and space and more like a show.
@volatilemolotov6676 жыл бұрын
where are all the women?? this isn’t a “female thing” but there are high harmonies in this song too. there should be women in it the whole time, not just hanging out in the background. they’re following jesus too.
@bhayatte51136 жыл бұрын
Because there wasn't women in the twelves?
@OreadNYC4 жыл бұрын
Actually, tenors can sing quite high and especially when they're using falsetto voice so the high harmonies in this song are probably meant to be sung mostly by men. There are women in this scene but they usually remain more or less in the background until the song "Everything's All Right" at which point they provide backup vocals for Mary.
