Once more unto the breach of talking about really old League of Legends champions who have been neglected in the lore and storytelling of the game that isn't very much about lore or storytelling, my friends! Once more!
Today, let's talk about the Terror of the Buffet Table, the OG Void Monster, Cho'gath himself, what his early conception of the Void used to be and how it clashes with modern ideas of how that Lovecraftian dimension is conceptualized in the lore.

I like the conception of ChoGath from theJournal of Justice and think it would fit well into the new lore: ChoGath is a void born who learned the idea of “leadership” and now desires to be King of the Void. He starts out as a mindless glutton and as he waged war and grows on Runeterra he sees subjects rally around leaders like Azir and starts to think “what an interesting idea”. The Void being a horde of chaotic monsters has no real leader or any idea of loyalty so to convince them of his authority he eats to swell in size and impress their stupid brains with the simple concept that the biggest “man” deserves to be in charge. Then you have a narrative that is essentially a “dark Naruto” story: “I will become the first Void King! Believe it!” It makes him more relatable since his gluttony now becomes a metaphor for wanting unconditional love which separates him from Kench.

Honestly that’s an amazing idea. The Void in Lore does know loyalty and has leadership, but not in the concept of humans. It’s this hive mentality linked to the concept of the void’s very heart. For one of its creations to do like Velkoz or Khaziks and develop an individual intelligence, then take it further and turn on the hive-mind mentality with this concept of “why cant i command armies too” puts it in this strange, wondrous storytelling position of being talked too, but still being animalistic and unreasonable. For the void he’d represent this inherent contradiction, that the more of runeterra the void consumes the higher the risk of the Void itself developing to match it. And for runeterrans, he represents the threat that the void is evolving beyond mindless consumption to snuff out the spark of life. He can /think/. He can command swarms of voidlings and alter their usual behavior. Nothing is more dangerous then the unthinkable… thinking. Love it xD

why not turn cho into a voidling that gained intelligence, a creature that was meant to be only a part of the swarm butt survived and evolved against all odds, an oddity even for the void. and now that he got big he does not want runtera to end for it would be an end to hiss food and pleasure supply, aka the only thing making him Him. This would force cho into a gray teritory, where he helps in fighting the void but for horrible and selfish reasons, make him fight his void nature, a thing that would eventually start too feed even on the void itself, an ever growing monster, a wild card in runtera, a creature that feasts to stay intelligent, to stay aware of itself. make his hunger grow more complex as he evolves, turn him into a thing of which even demons are afraid off.

This is how I would personally handle Cho'Gath. For context, he's my personal favourite champion in the game, and while that doesn't make me a good writer necessarily I do think that makes me somewhat qualified to talk about what I'd like to see him become in a lore update, because I do agree that Cho is outdated. Personally, I would have this be his general character summary: *Cho'Gath is a Voidborn who actually embraced the change that Runeterra brings.* Runeterra's existence appears to have allowed Voidborn to actually gain desires- Kha'Zix desires his own evolution and growth, Kog'Maw desires consumption and discovery, ecetera, and Cho'Gath has been utterly consumed by it. From the moment he first ate something, all he's ever wanted is to eat more. This allows him to keep his current identity without contradicting current Void canon, fits in nicely with other Voidborn characters, gives him a point in being Voidborn again, and also provides a neat double meaning to him being the "Terror of the Void". Rather than it just meaning "He's from the Void and he's scary", it also literally means the Void is partially afraid of him and what he represents- The idea that the Void doesn't just corrupt Runeterra, Runeterra can corrupt the Void back. And, to potentially differentriate him from Kog'Maw, I'd lean into him firstly having "More refined tastes", claiming that Kog'Maw's indiscriminate, mindless devouring is wasting perfectly good food when he could be savouring the taste of this finite universe. I can imagine Kog'Maw being perfectly happy to eat any biological matter possible whilst Cho'Gath generally sticks to animals and even then prefers to select the juiciest morsels, and secondly maybe having him "eat" you on more levels than just the physical. I can imagine him considering those with great emotional burdens, corruption within themselves, or just generally interesting people as being far tastier than the average peasant. So yeah, that's how I'd work with him in the modern state of LoL. He's still the Terror of the Void, he's just taking that a smidgeon more literally.

Cho’Gath is not an emotional concept. Cho’Gath is the end of reality. I honestly think that the mistake of him is that they try to plop him into the lore as a physical threat. He should be the thing that everyone is afraid of. The final creature that the void brings. Kind of like Aurelian Sol’s mirror. He is the one that breaks through reality. Tears it to shreds. Threatening to devour in it’s entirety. The primal need to perpetuate one’s ego through violent consumption of life. To destroy all of life in the process of that singular need. A hunger so ancient, born from a long slumber suddenly disturbed by the hum of reality that it can’t contain itself. It refuses to fade. It grows and swells until there is nothing left. That kind of primal, cosmic horror is where the void lives. I think he might have lots of potential but he still would need a visual update to reflect his identity. He seems a bit too goofy and that works against him. The problem I would see is how can we make him scary in a less personal way and more in a cosmic sense with his visuals? That would be the biggest hurdle, I would think. What are your thoughts about it?

I think that’s a fun way to play things, not to mention a killer idea for a skin, but I’m kinda in the inverse. A veteran from the war that corrupted the Darkin, but even more ancient than even that encounter, he’s the vanguard that was followed by his kindred as he wails in despair that reality is, almost literally, nails on a chalkboard within his mind. Such is this torment that he falls into coma, colossal enough to be mistaken for natural geologic formations, and the basis of thousands of religions. In this way, he hears the Runeterrans look to him in reverence, caught between his disgust, his despair, his wrath, and a budding genius over the millennia. By now, a cult is worshiping him in one of the many places on Runeterra, biding his time, letting the cult grow until it rules the planet…so he may awake and bring his lambs to the cosmic slaughter between his jaws-of which appear to be a cave to those whom worship him, for he’s so colossal as to be a mountain range.

i dont agree with removing cho gath from the void, he was created as the original void monster and the way i see it, he is the void monster closer to the raw concept of the void, of a force that consumes the world and grows. Cho gath basic concept IS the basic concept of the void. And i do not think he needs much of a lore update, because he is just a void monster, his role is to be a "face" for the void, a role he executes very well the way he is now, exactly because he is simply the "monster from the void that eats and grows", and thats exactly what he should be.

What if Cho'gath became the void's answer to the abstract concept of civilization and empires? He could be the duality opposed to runeterrans working together, seeking out to consume pivotal lifeforms that impact others and unite people. Emperors, Queens, and Kings would grow to fear him. He would grow, representing chaos as order diminishes. Eventually he'd outgrow even precints and cities, becoming a chaotic and moving ecosystem to counterbalance Runeterra's synchronicity. Entire kingdoms might bolster their defenses in fear of Cho'gath, the living and dead nation. He'd even be able to think and predict changes like a collective mind, within himself. Cho'gath becomes the maw of entropy, and even his limbs move with minds of their own as he grows, representing the souls of uniters he has disincorporated.

Honestly, speaking of the entire 'fighting other champions/being a protagonist/antagonist in other people's stories' I can think of one neat relationship Cho'Gath could maybe develop, in a similar vein to Venom. Namely with Aatrox. As of his rework, Aatrox is bound within a weapon, bodiless and endlessly suffering in an empty, unending immortal existence without any real way of dying and ending his suffering, and must rely on the desperation of mortals/humans to actually wield him so that he could take them over, begin to kill away and forge his own body from powerful hosts with which he can then move and roam the world seeking animosity with others in desperate hope that he could come across and challenge someone who might actually be able to end him. (Also, yes, Aatrox, from his modern background at least, has plenty of reason to hate a lot of other champions, and yes, I know Aatrox's current lore doesn't reflect perfectly in his design/gameplay but hey, nothing new there.) Now, we could have Cho'Gath and Aatrox meet at some point. Cho, being as he is right now, he'd see this hulking, massive figure of a humanoid put together from the waning remains of powerful mortals and naturally look to chomp on it. Aatrox, on the other hand would see this horrible monstrosity as another opportunity for a distraction from his own wretched predicament, if not potentially seeing a foe that could, somehow end him. A fight ensues, say, Aatrox wins this one, heavily injuring Cho, sapping away some of the monster's flesh to repair his own body which would have suffered some heavy injuries in the fight. Meanwhile Cho, having taken some considerable chomps from the Darkin through the fight and forced to retreat as Aatrox restores himself, would attain a taste for the demonic warrior's flesh, and have acquired a sense of enmity toward this humanoid who managed to rob him of some of the biomass he'd consumed. Then later on they meet again. Say this time Cho wins, ends up completely munching down the Darkin's body, growing tremendeously from eating a powerful body motivated by Aatrox's miserable emotions, yet the sword itself remains intact... So Aatrox is back to his abstract prison, hateful of the monster for driving him back to it... until he finds and manages to tempt another mortal into becoming his host. Have multiple encounters like this, over which Cho develops a sort of twisted, perverted affection for meeting the Darkin (if you wanna preserve the whole ''loves inflicting a personal paradaise of horror and misery' thing for Cho), and attains a near addiction for eating the spiteful, anguish-driven Darkin's body. Meanwhile, on the other hand, have Aatrox grow ever more hateful of Cho, maybe have the actual sword sustain some minor damage over multiple encounters, giving the Darkin some fraction of hope that this horrible monstrosity could someday be the end of him and his suffering... Or maybe have him tempted to somehow harness Cho'Gath for his goal of becoming the 'World Ender', maybe such a horrible, all consuming, ever growing monster (if it is indeed intelligent and fond of causing terror and suffering), can somehow be manipulated or allied with to help drive the world into this 'final battle where everything *everything* is destroyed', maybe Aatrox develops positively from all the endless encounters, maybe he somehow re-discovers his passion for being a protector as he was before his ilk's fall, have him recall the horrors of the war he fought against the void, have him maybe rekindle that purpose of fighting off its creatures, so on and so on. Hell, here's skin ideas for you as well, make them cost a fuckload of RP or whatever, make them be a versus event thing, Darkin/World-Ender/Eater Cho'gath, Woeless/Noble Aatrox (or something fancy sounding, portraying him in his glorious days of yore) Wew, that's about it from me. ...Sike Love this channel, by the way, and especially the series analyzing League lore/designs, every video I've watched has been a source of some inspiration and I love the unbiased critique you hand out. What I would find funny/ weirdly fitting, Cho'gath + Lulu... I know, it sounds weird, but think about it, Cho'gath has one goal, to be bigger. Lulu has the skills to do it with out hurting anyone, furthermore she has the personality to over look Cho'gath's absolute horror thing. I am sort of right, right? Also wouldn't it be adorable to see Lulu on a ulted Cho'gath, working as friends to achieve a bigger objective? O, I forgot to mention, if you would like a them/ character Arc idea. Ask me. For now you can live with the short version. Cho'gath meets Lulu, he tries to devour her she dodges and survives, but she doesn't run away. This happens again and again. Until Cho'gath gets frustrated and gives up on eating her. She follows him around, he hates it but know that she will dodge him with out trouble, so he lets her be. He gets in to trouble, then Lion and the mouse happens (the children story). Cho'gath still hates Lulu but there something between them now (btw I do notes how fan fiction this got). They start to understand each other and work to together, blah blah blah. They separate, then Cho'gath gets into his usual routine, but now he kinda feels bad for it (or something to that effect). Btw Lulu has a similar experience, except that eating people alive thing. They reunite and understand how important they are for each other (fan fiction to the max). END Yes this story would need to change the characters a little bit to fit the narrative, but honestly I think both the characters need it. So what do you think? Garbage or Smelly garbage You decide And as always, have a good day.

If it were up to me I would use cho’gath and kha’zix as voidlings that overcome their void instincts and the instructions of their void masters. For cho’gath specifically I would change him into a voidling that seeks to feed and grow because either he seeks the physical power to become his own sentience away from his void masters ( and fight against them when they come) or maybe he enjoys eating to much to allow other void creatures to take what he sees as his meal. To make cho’gath work I think he needs to be a wildcard chaotic creature that is trying to go against his void masters.

Idk, turning Cho to a demon would leave me with a pretty sour taste. He's the man that created the Void, after all! That whole faction was made so that Cho could enter the game. I'd rather have his goal changed from consuming for his own joy to something else. Perhaps Cho is what the Void can consider a giant spore factory. He is created with endless hunger that leads him to devour everything in sight where his biology takes part of the consumed matter to enlarge the beast while the other part is used to create corrupting void-matter that oozes off the beast in pustules riddled across its massive form which turn everything they come into contact to into swarms of skittering little buglings that flock to their mother-father-monster thing predecessor. Basically a Broodlord

So, quite the wild idea here. What if Cho'gath is something like Aurelion Sol, an ancient being from the moment the universe was born with celestial powers capable to shape the universe. He ends up being one of the first beings to find out about the void and battles it, but like Kassadin he gets corrupted by it, not completely assimilated, but it warps his mind to the point where he becomes his own "void" ideal, where he wants to consume the entire universe so the only thing it can exist its himself, as all will be part of him. This way he keeps his concept of consuming, still have some relation with the void without being a complete void creature so he doesn't clash with the modern ideals of it and makes Kog'maw its own thing in a better way. I think this is an interesting idea, making Cho'gath a character like Galactus, a cosmic horror capable of devouring planets and galaxies on its own. It also makes Aurelion Sol have a character that directly opposes him, as Cho'gath would want to consume the stars it created.

I think there's an easy way to make the old Void champions mesh better with the new ones: The old void champions were quite literally the "original run" of void monsters. Without a concept of strategy or what they're up against, the void spawned giants like Cho'Gath because what could be more powerful than a big, unstoppable juggernaut? It turns Cho'Gath's status as one of the first void monsters in League of Legends into his actual lore and justifies other void champions being iterations on the void's approach to the ruination of the material world. The mere existence of Vel'Koz speaks to the Void's desire to refine it's approach, to better understand what it seeks to destroy, so a complete strategic shift in the nature of void monsters isn't out of the realm of possibility... Cho'Gath just happened to live long enough to get big enough that nobody's managed to take him down yet.

Im pretty sure that whats Tahm embodies is actually Despair, taking advantage of human's greed is just a means for him to be able to create and sustain himself off of...which u stated eventually but it should be notes 1st and foremost to avoid confusion. The same could be said Eve, shes not about lust shes about Pain, she just uses humans lust to lure them in to get in a position where she can derive maximum pain from their vunerable state Nocturn isn't a demon, he's a manifestation of rampant magic from the Rune Wars, its different from Demons in a way thats hard to explain In terms of Cho'gath just make him one of the higher lvls of the Void, make him one of the generals of the Void. You don't have to give him a specific hunger like the other champs. Once u detach him from this specific hungers that other Void champ's have and give him a higher meaning he would then have a unique position has the main attack force (to pair with Vel'Koz intelligence force) of the Void that paves the way for the Void, his position could be to grow in POWER in order to be strong enough to take out any strong opponents say Targon. Vel'Koz gathers info for the Void, Cho gathers strength to take on hard hitting opponents = Tactician(intelligence) and Vangaurd(Raw Power). There Now Cho has a unique motive for the void that is above normal Void born like Vel

One way to do a lore update for Cho'gath, if you wanted to keep him intelligent and still kinda revel in his consumption Is to have the pleasure he derives from consuming is actually relief. Every animal, plant, and mineral consumed is a little bit less of that pain that the void gets from physical existence. It would also allow them to keep some of his old voice lines about the light burning him or considering humans hideous.

I mean, he has Dark Star Cho'Gath which bears a lot of resemblance to the American Godzilla. He would need something to fight against though, like Galio or Malphite or even Aatrox for lore reasons. Cho'Gath's purpose would be to be the tank in the invasion and to fight the physically large threats in Runeterra.

if I were to redo chogath, the angle I would take is sort of an important void figure who still exists within the void, a mind behind the chaos, the one who organizes and coordinates the spawn of his ilk. Chogath having his consumption of all being a bit more differentiated from Kog'maw, that his intelligence is as dangerous as himself. Maybe even his new design would somehow introduce a creep mechanic where he's harder to kill on his own turf and his passive slowly creates some voidlings that turn into creep after walking away from current creep

I've been binging your videos and finally came to this one. I was wondering what you think of the idea of turning ChoGath into a void corrupted Demon? As far as I know we don't have anything in the game's universe within that niche, and there's so much that could be explored about Demons by seeing how they interact with the Void. Almost a "Let them fight" moment within the mind and body of ChoGath. I especially like the idea because demons do so well at enhancing other character's stories, but in this case the other character is the Void, and the demon is Gluttony. As strong and nihilistic as the Void is, it is quite gluttonous, so the demon of gluttony might be its one weakness.

if you're in his discord and still interested in the idea, you might like my VGU concept on him i've been throwing around there. in short i had gotten similar idea but kinda the other way around? as a normal voidborn he lived though ages absent-minded but then gotten sentient by absorbing a demon. his desires in truth are demonic but his alligience remains to the void, i think that lets us keep existing character but with more depth from his new suppressed conflicts. demons mind is very tied to material world and especially desires but the voidborn have no need for these innately and are more of an organic weapon against the existence.

The concept I hope they go with is that he was an all-consuming monster to begin with that gained a higher intellegent and is gaining understanding leading to change from the terror of the void to an entirely different being.

Heres an idea for putting cho'gath in the actual conception. Cho'gath is a mithological beast, much like the spider of the twisted treeline, like a grat warbeast used during the runewars, or a representation of what the void is for the people, the story of the all consuming void giants devolved in this al consuming simple creature. This would give LOL a cultural legend of how they cope with tragedies, and it would put it in a realm like kindred.

Wouldn't a good way to handle both Cho'Gath, and the Voidborn in general, be to question whether or not they want the Watchers to break through the barrier and destroy everything? Vel'Koz shows that they're capable of emotion to a degree and are driven by desires instilled with them by the Watchers, but would they simply accept their missions being cut short? Would Vel'Koz simply accept that his quest for knowledge will be inconclusive? Would Kha'Zix give up the hunt because the Void decided it's time? Would Cho'Gath settle for not consuming all? I feel like this would be an interesting direction to go with the Voidborn, creations that have been given will and desires, only to see them taken away all too soon.

And maybe having the voidborn join forces with runeterra to defeat the watchers in some sort of cool PvE lore event. Kinda allying themselves to the people on runeterra only to not have their missions and what they love doing cut short.

If I had to choose, I would keep Cho' Gath somewhere between his current state and Rek' Sai. As a monster that has the instinct to eat and destroy everything but also enjoys doing so. Or he could be like the Kajus from Pacific Rim, he would be sent by the Lord of the Void to destroy the civilizations and prepare Runeterra for them. Even though the Void is not as simple as it was, I really don't think there is a need to make Cho' Gath more complex than he is now.

The direction I'd go in with Cho'Gath's character is that instead of just being an intelligent and self aware void monster. He will now be THE most intelligent and THE most self aware void monster. And he hates this awareness of himself and the nature of his existence. For him this existence is torture, he's in near constant mental torment over this constant awareness. So in order to solve this problem, he consumes and tries to speed up the process of the void's consumption of runterra. Because if he can extinguish the light that is runterra, then maybe he can fall back asleep into the deep dark abyss of the void. But that goal is a long ways away, so in the meantime he'll continue to suffer in his quest. And maybe he'll even find enjoyment in making others as miserable as he is.

What if you combine his original lore and your idea? Demon of gluttony, which was also corrupted by the Void (maybe he ate a Voidborn?). Preserves his idea, allows to keep his theme about being "partly Void". Explores idea of the Void being powerful enough to corrupt even demons. Makes Ch o by itself more interesting (maybe he's like Varus in his new lore when demon Cho struggles to control himself. You can make a story about what is more evil/dangerous, etc).

Saw someone saying the same, but he could also be an evolution of sorts of the void, since the void was shaped by reality. Maybe he was also a prove whose objective was to gain knowledge, but something in the humans he consumed changed him, made him embody the worst of humanity to himself instead of charing the knowledge and now he only wants it all for himself, to grow, consume, understand (maybe), distancing himself from the nothingness from where he came and becoming more and more like the creatures he is obsessed about

Here are 2 ideas about how cho gath could " evolve ". 1 make him a Watcher that ascaped. Place a bkack dot on runeterra's map and say he appeared here. Have him spawn voilings from that place and anti void heroes try to reach him to stop him. Good candidates for this are kassadin , ascended and darkin. 2 make him a void infected human. Something like reverse Kaisa. Imagine starting the game as a human with armor like exoskeleton end as he stacks feast he becomes more and more like the chogath we know. In this interpretation he may even try to struggle with the Corruption but it is a doomed fight.

I know I'm late to the party but what if Cho was a living rift for the void to break out of, and that was why he was always trying to get bigger because the bigger he becomes the bigger the rift and maybe he becomes something like a living portal for the void to escape from it would be an interesting explanation to why he is what he is

Make cho a demon who got partially consumed by the void (maybe the demon of wrath or gluttony) every time he feeds/kills he becomes more demon/void and has a conflict within himself as to keep runeterra alive so he can feed more, where as the void will want to annihilate it all. Maybe give him a Kayne vibe in game too.

Funny coincidence, Violator from Todd McFarlane's Spawn and Venom has a same vibe and same eyes and same dark energy because Todd McFarlane is the co-creator of Venom then after that created the iconic web-design of Spider-man(the spaghetti looking one) after that left Marvel to make Image Comics to publish his own comics Spawn. Todd's signature style in drawing monster designs are eyes, the Spawn cape thing he admitted to make it big because at times he needs to finish it up the next issue quickly so he covered Spawn with a huge ass cape(some people might say he's lazy but I think it's called creativity) Sorry for the side tangent but anyway, Rework Cho'Gath is kinda hard but I mean instead of releasing new champs they could focus on rewriting the old ones? but I guess releasing a new one is kinda easy for them rather than sitting it down thinking of something that could work in a champion rework's lore, skills sets and design that still in total respect to the team who conceived the character's concept and the intention while making that specific character i.e. Fiddlesticks and Udyr It's has a different skillset, design and of course voice-lines but the feel, vibe and tone is still preserved it's essense and concept.

He could be an anti void demon. Since all the void wants is to destroy everything and it "fears", hates existence. By becoming larger and larger, it makes the void hate him, fear him even more - and he feeds on void's hate, beeing a demon. So basicly, the more he grows, the more void hates him, the more he is real and powerful.

Honestly. I won't preach about any special knowledge I might have about Cho'gath, but I do think TBSkyen skipped over what is my favorite thing about Cho's old lore. The line that in the old days ended his bio and is now at the top of the outdated reference page. 'Woe betide the day Cho'gath grows weary of the league'. That along with the line talking about how Cho's intelligence makes them wonder about how such a beast could be contained implies that Cho'gath was initially bound to the league of legends willingly. That he was going along with their games for reasons entirely his own. Personally, if they did a full backstory rework of Cho I would like to see him as some sort of commander type, much like Vel'koz. He is the OG voidling, and some level of status or power would perfectly fit him given that fact. Something similar to Bel'veth, that he is on his own side, would be very interesting in my opinion. Him opposing the other voidlings if only because he has some reason to desire the continued existence of runeterra. Perhaps it is so he can eat, perhaps (like some others in these comments) Runeterra itself is what allows him his own break from the hivemind and he does not want to go back. Perhaps his actual reasoning is made hidden, if only because his original lore made no point to explain exactly WHY Cho'gath was in the league of legends, aside from implying it was his own doing. Story wise, Cho could be used as something approaching a dangerous ally those who seek to fight the void could seek out. Perhaps Lissandra learns of him and seeks him out to try and learn how to either kill or permanently banish the watchers in the howling abyss. There are so many options for a sort of 'traitor' voidling.

I would still make him a void born creature that consumes and grows bigger and stronger, but the fact that he has some sorts of intelligence, I would let him have more interactions with humans and they maybe could convince Cho'Gath to cooperate with them. Since he keeps getting stronger humans could find use in that convincing him to actually devouring whatever the watchers are (wich would probably lead to his demise), being one if not the only void born character that cooperates with humanity. With that his thematic doesn't change (to keep eating until I can devour the world), of course changes in character design need to be and we would have a sort of an anti hero, while he and the humans believe that he can devour the watchers he still needs to consume alot to grow that big.

As a Cho main and lore geek, I agree that he being a void champ makes no sense right now. He used to be a sort of general of the voidborn, kinda like a hero unit of the void. I feel they should give him the Noct treatment and make him a weapon leftover from the Runewars, basically evil Galio who decided to just say "fuck it" and went on a rampage.

Cho'gath to me, was about his rage. In a seven deadly sins setup, i would place him as an avatar of wrath over gluttony. Yes he consumes, but the way he is built and animated, i got the sense that he was out to tear living things apart. I realize that this makes him sound like a boring Chaotic Evil, but him having an intellect, awareness and independence, could add an wrinkle to his character to make him more interesting. Especially if it would cause a division from himself and the other void creatures

So with Cho gath he could be essence the purest form of the world that plop it way into the world and mindless consume what ever near. With it taking in matter it evolved and grew self awareness and thought thus became intelligent and experienced new senses and pleasure. over thrilled by this cho gath gain the desired for more of this and gain a hunger for power and to continue consume all life overtime enjoy wreaking havoc and destruction.

I'm a big fan of the idea of the Seven Deadly Sins being formally brought to life in League. Back when Aatrox was the only canon Darkin I was convinced that he was the embodiment of Wrath and that the other Darkin would all be embodiments like him, but, well. As cool as the new Darkin lore is, I'm still a bit salty they took that from me. That being said, there's still SO much potential there. Tahm and Evelynn make such a good starting base and I think Cho would fit in very well (although it would require a HUGE change). I very much doubt that Riot will actually do anything that drastic to him since being a Void creature is very much a core part of his identity, but one can live in hope.

I think the void concept is too far rooted in the public at this point I like the angle you touched on your cellos video. The idea that he decides he doesn’t completely eradicate everything because he enjoys terrorizing the creatures of runeterra and his own intelligence coupled with his hunger overrides his instincts for destruction or he can be one of those literally bigger villains where he’s like if anyone’s gonna consume all of creation it’s gonna be me

I do not have a strong opinion about Cho'gath (though the consumption theme, as you said, is... bad, unless he works as a Tyranid and collects "biomatter", so Void could send out better specialized creatures - like a physical or more head on version of Vel'koz), but as you mentioned, and as lore has stated there was a change in Void lore in general. The Cosmic Cancer, as you well put. And when looked from this aspect, I have hard time understanding why Kassadin and Kai'sa is not (very, very visibly) moving towards becoming the carriers of the Void, losing their humanity and their previous agendas - Imagine Kayn and Rhaast conflict, but such where Kayn can not win.
