You’ve been missing out for so long xD ! (also you’re saying kaito’s name wrong Kai - to, not Kay - do ) also some info is wrong such as miku having a backstory and kaito and meiko being hits because they really weren't until miku came out.
@shaykagamine2 жыл бұрын
i just started watching the video and there is a few mistakes. 1. vocaloid was created in 2000 not in 2004 2. miku doesnt have an official backstory or personality non of crypton vocaloids have them 3. meiko and kaito werent the first vocaloids, lola and leon are the first ones 4. im not sure about meiko but i know that kaito was considered as a failure bc he didnt sell well so im not sure you can say he was a huge hit 5. SEGA also created project sekai, not only projcet mirai and diva 6. L.O.L means lots of Laugh not lots of love 7. miku sing the original nyan cat but the popular version (with the rainbow cat) sings Momone Momo (utau) 8. recently miku moved program from vocaloid to another program called piapro studio NT which is a program made by piapro and crypton. also its KAito not keito sorry if its sounds aggresive, i dont want new fans to think those things are right or official (also im sorry if theres any grammer mistakes english is my second language)
@jootersblaccat2 жыл бұрын
1. She has an official backstory 2. Kaito WAS a failure but he later became popular when Miku got popular 3. Miku DID sing the original song

@@jootersblaccat she doesn't have official backstory. It's up to the fans to make her backstory and personality. Kaito at the start was a failure and yes later he became popular but he said that they were a big hit from the start and it's not right. Miku didn't sing the original song.

yup!! i also have some fun facts: - the earliest date that has been found for vocaloids production was in 1997, though it did not become an actual buyable thing until march 2000. - Vocaloid, before it released, could have been named daisy, but they had to change it because of copyright issues - Meiko could have been named Hanako - Kaito sounds like kermit in english (if you listen closely) - there are only some vocaloids with cannon backstories, but as you said miku and her gang don't have any I don't believe - Utau is also a software much like vocaloid, but its completely free and people can make their own voicebanks thats all i can think of off the top of my head haha (also if you wanted to fix some grammer in #7 it should be sing instead of sang (: )

Pretty interesting video! Even though many are pointing out some of the mistakes you made (shows how passionate the fanbase is lol) I appreciate the well researched dive into Miku and Vocaloid as a whole, and trying to understand it and piece it together in a video for others who may not know either.

pretty sure it’s common knowledge but voice for nyan cat is actually from a fan made vocal software (utauloid) momo momone

Having been around the internet for a while, I had a vague notion of what the whole vocaloid thing was just from seeing people talk about the songs and characters over the years, but the release of the game on Steam was the first time I actually thought to research the details about it. As a programmer, I'm actually more interested in the mathematics that allows the program to synthesize human speech patterns, which I also researched. The simplified version is that it uses a base voice of a human that recorded as many sounds as possible for a language, then the program uses that base and attempts to combine all those sounds into natural sounding language. Kind of like a fancy text to speech bot, that can also do more advanced things like match specific tones and notes. It does work better with Japanese than it does a language like English because Japanese has a much simpler pronunciation with sounds that are pretty much always pronounced the same every time. Any English speaker knows that's definitely not true for English. There are still English songs made with the software, but they sound much more robotic compared to the ones written in Japanese.

It's always so fun to see new people discovering Vocaloid and Miku for the first time! Glad to see you found something you like, Project Diva games sure are varied like that. And Kaito needs much more love, sure he's popular, but I rarely see anyone complement his beautiful voice, and he deserves it.

When I started making MMD animations, I had no idea about the history behind it. And the only animation I've published that Miku appears in got R-18'ed by KZbin...who seriously needs to grow a sense of humor. Very informative work, thank you.

Just to clarify something: Miku doesn’t have a backstory. If you go to the official Crypton Future Media page they don’t even post Miku’s age anymore.. this is to give fans complete freedom to use Miku as they wish. Not having a backstory allows the fans to write any songs they want in any genre they want. Mr Itoh ( the creator of Hatsune Miku ) said in an interview they where very strict and made a big effort to make sure her name and image was to be associated with the software and, later on, the games. That’s why you don’t see her in animes aside from short appearances in some shows here and there.

@ChocolateM1lk2 жыл бұрын
hey! just a correction, the nyan cat didn't come from miku or even vocaloid at all, but was in fact actually an utau (a free singing synthesizer program similar to vocaloid) named 'momone momo' who sang it :) edit: so i was wrong, (thank you tsukuyomi kitsune for the correction!) miku WAS the original, but momo turned into the meme

You should play Project Sekai or for the global release, Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage. It has a lot of Vocaloid songs and even some new ones. And there are new characters and even a story and the game even has some events. Colorful Stage is one of the games that made me enjoy the Vocaloid series and its songs as a whole.
@MasacoMike2 жыл бұрын
I second this! While Colorful Stage still mostly focused on the characters other than the titular Miku herself, it's still a very simple starting point for those who want to get into Vocaloid and anything Miku related.

I've been aware of Miku since 2008, and a casual fan of Vocaloid in general (and UTAU) since 2010, though I had played a couple of rhythm games before, it was Project Mirai DX on 3DS that *Really* got me into the genre, which is now my favourite and easily most-played genre... Thing is though, my favourite Vocaloid isn't Miku, it's Gumi, her voice absolutely melts my heart~♥ Sadly her game back on PSP wasn't very good... I really loved her cameo in Project Mirai though~ But I've recently found out that *A Lot* of her songs were featured in the Sound Voltex series! Gosh I wish I'd known about that YEARS ago! Some of the art in those games makes me a bit uncomfortable though... At this point I've largely moved on from Miku's games, but I still think highly of them, especially Mirai, I actually think it's better than Diva in pretty much every way...

It's pretty weird find informative videos about Vocaloid nowadays, since the software lost popularity the last years and now everybody is slowly switching to Synthesizer V, or SynthV to sum up. Now I prefer UTAU and SynthV than Vocaloid.
@Lukz2432 жыл бұрын
There was a time that I listened to her and other Vocaloid songs, especially Matryoska, Word's end dancehall and Senbonzakura. As for gaming experience, I only played the demos for both of Project Divas for 3DS, but never got into them cause I'm terrible at rhythm games and I'd feel bad if I spent money on a game I'm not able to beat. It's embarrassing, I know

KAITO is said as KAI TO. Kai is in Kite and to as in Toe. DIVA X was released for the 10th anniversary since the X in DIVA X is "10" in roman numbers "Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega39's" (said as Megamix) is the Japanese copy of Megamix and was released in Feb of 2020 NOT Sept of 2019 while the English copy "Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Megamix" was released May of 2020. The song title is "LOL -Lots of Laugh" Not LOL Lots of Love "Not is destination" "Wind Takes Us a Fanfare" Are not song titles in any DIVA game. I do not know where you got these names from. "World is Mine" is a song (Miku most viewed song on YT) but in the DIVA games it is Translated to "The World is Mine" even though the Japanese is ワールドイズマイン (Waarudo izu main) which is just World is Mine Megamix+ is the combination of missing songs from Future Tone and Arcade Future Tone with the newest game before Megamix+ being Megamix which had 178 songs with all DLC while the Arcade game had 240 and Future Tone having 252 (With all DLCs) This being said Megamix+ is way better than the Switch verison and is only a issue for "lack of content" if you have played either Future Tone or Arcade Future Tone. The only new song to Megamix+ is "Kagamine's Hachi Hachi Flower Flight" which was a DIVA F and Arcade Future Tone only song that they added to Megamix+. Megamix+ is missing 3 songs though from Arcade Future Tone and Future Tone being 'Ievan Polkka" (is the tutorial song but is a remixed and can't play the song any other way) "NekoMimi Archive" "White Dove" which was some of peoples favorites and sadly was cut The DLC pack "Extra Song Pack" was what makes Megamix+... Megamix+ since if you do not buy that song pack you will have 178 songs (Just like the Switch version with all DLCs) and the "caught" was that all songs that was cut from Megamix from Future Tone was back with 3 exceptions and one "new" song. The only "plus" to the game if you do not buy the DLC is the option of switching shaders from Future Tone and Megamix. Keyboard support (and other controllers). Global Leaderboards and that's about it With the past 2 points being about songs Il also meantion that the modding scene is intense and can easily modded to add the 3 missing songs back in with song packs. Covers. UI changes. Modules and other features being worked on. There is a Discord Server you can join if you wish to learn more about this

This could just be my idea of WHY miku is so popular but considering she isn't real, all of the content surrounding her is fan made. She obviously has never been able to push her own image, so fans have been able to reach one another to expand her image. She can be whatever the viewer wants her to be. Theres no other media that gives the viewer that much freedom and I think thats why shes become such a phenomenon
