Hate to say it but the 2024 events have not been confirmed, so a bit premature to say that kiteboarding 'will be' in the Olympics. However, it is very likely, but confirmation is not anticipated until December 2020.

The format doesnt make any sense, name another sailing discipline that has the same format as kiting?

Olympic sailing has always inherently been dinghy classes, and this is a great approach to making a high speed dinghy class that's safe and fun to watch that meets the spirit of inclusion of the future Olympics. Really glad to see this approach, I hope they don't have to chop up the RRS too badly to make exceptions for this new class, having a bunch of complicated kiting exemptions will be a hassle.

the olympics have become a joke. We want to see elite athletes sweat not people in pastimes. That's for the winter olympics.What's next,the card game bridge or poker? kick these pastimes out. Sailing of any kind, surfing,skateboarding.Just to name a few that should never have been admitted. And also it's not fair on poor countries where there is noway they can afford the expensive equipment.
