They can keep all their mansions, crowns and jewels. Jesus is my Reward. :)

the Matthew 19 passage indicates that *everyone* who has believed in Jesus' name sake will have an incredible inheritance and eternal life. Exciting. But this does not mean that there are varying levels of square footage, or varying numbers of jewels, or anything like that. That is what I'm speaking out against here. Of course, there is a great reward (singular, not rewardS plural) for believers and that is very comforting to those who have been abandoned and lost everything in this life.

Yes, I learned early on, back in the late 90s, when I spent hours each day with Jesus, being still and knowing Him, meditating on Him, that He is my Reward. I need nothing else. :)

The KJV bible says in Mathew 19 "Treasures" plural not singular. Throughout the new testament there's a reward for different things. So there are rewards plural.

Completely agree with you. Whether or not we get 'rewards' or not, by being believers we already have the greatest gift possible: living a life with the God of the universe. If we are concerned with petty things in heaven, then we do not have our eyes on God, instead we are focused on coveting things we don't have.

Someone gave me a book about 6 years ago. About halfway through it started talking about how we need to earn our rewards in heaven, my spirit sank and I wanted to puke. I gave the book back and told my friend I couldn’t finish it I thought it was garbage. I told him that my hope and reward is to be with Christ in heaven and even it that meant living in a tent it will be wonderful! He was appalled. I didn’t care! I had just discovered who Jesus was and what he did and that crap didn’t jive.

Remember that story where the guy paid the workers all the same no matter what hour of the day they started working for him?
@jamesnw8 жыл бұрын
"Hour of the day" was referring to the timeline of those from the forefathers of faith, to now, though they came first to work in the field (the world), everyone gets the same thing - salvation, as a gift, the same for all, and eternal life for all.

It's strange to think that we'll be rewarded when we didn't even DESERVE GRACE in the first place, the SAVING GRACE. For without it there wouldn't be a Heaven for us to enjoy these 'rewards'. Isn't the our only reward, redemption and Christ?

The mansion thing is a parable that goes along with the ancient Hebrew wedding tradition. The bridegroom & bride would usually live with the man’s family after the betrothal was complete. The son would either build a room onto the fathers house or a small house next to it. It’s wedding talk our Bridegroom was telling His bride. ❤️

@aeroflying yea, i believe that rewards are given at the second coming. by the time we pass away, we will only wander around the beauty of heaven :) (for believers)

Who wants a mansion and jewerly in heaven? Hoping we will be freed from the earthly stuff. Never liked the whole rewards..just puts man back on the tread mill of do do to get. I'm banking on the simplicity of Jesus . Plus everyone would be rated in heaven by their tent up to a mansion. Sounds worse than earth.

Is that mean Christians no need to work/serve for God like saving souls, witnessing to others, distributing tracts, doing ministries etc..,,? Please clarify..

Those who have much on this earth and give little will be dissapointed. Those who have obeyed men rather than God, will also be dissapointed.

Relationship and intimacy with God is the ultimate reward. But im glad that he gives not just spriitual but practical..and yes earthly blessings.. like a parent blessing their kids just cause sometimes.. or rewards for hard work.. yeah maybe western Christianity has made rewards and mansions something else. Idk... and then is without a Kingdom clue on what to do with their abundance to help society. But a religious spirit and a critical spirit will make us think that alllll rewards are later after death. But hes a good good Father. Good video.

Where is it in the Bible again that mentions a mansion as a reward from God? Is he referring to John 14:1?

Andrew there’s more than the New Testament. The word reward is indeed used in the Bible.

If you honour God he'll honour you back with a house built with 2x6 material. If you don't it's just 2x4's. Rofl. Only kidding. God is awesome. Yes, I truly believe he has a sense of humor. He made me, he must.
