What's the difference between After Effects & Premiere Pro?

I’ve used both products, and I find Premier Pro to handle the majority of my needs. After effects is more for detailed, complex effects. If you need some cool effects before you post, the social media, premier pro is more than enough.

After Effects is by far the most complicated video editing software that I have come across. I am actually passionate about creating Scenepack edits for my instagram A/C and I hope Premiere Pro is suitable and its user interface is better than AE :)🤞🏻

I don;t really used premier pro for video editing but I have used after effect. In my experience i can do everything in after effect for video editing. But for color correction and changing voice tunes premier pro maybe good at it. Otherwise after effect is very nice for me.

So I want to retouch videos, color grading, color correction, masking layers, and it's up to 8K VR. That then would be premiere? - I'm using Topaz Labs to bring new life to old 4K or lower VR scenes but there isn't just one setting that works for a whole scene So I would like to lay different AI renders on top of each-other and mask them to get the best result where I want them. As an example of one of the issues; Some renders do eye's very well, but then messes up the skin and vice-versa.

Hello Just a quick question, I was using filmora for editing my videos which is so easy and the videos looked very nice but then I decided to use a professional program like premier and it is so hard, why when I look for a job as an editor I need to know premier and after effects if it is so easy to make nice videos in filmora? why companies want to pay for somebody who takes let's say 2hrs doing a video in premier against a video in Filmora taking just half an hr same video, same effects?

You really NEED premier if you want to make an even slightly more complex project with lot of scenes, after effects is pretty much what the name says not for video production rather for single screens. They made it like that i guess on purpose ti get more money and also optimize things up a bit

I’m an editor who’s used after effects for 6 years now, to be honest I think premiere pro is not a “must have” type of program. It’s nice to have, but I think personally almost everything you want to do can be done in AE. I have premiere pro, and never use it haha.

Hi! I can answer this :) Photoshop is more based on editing photographs (think: movie posters), with the ability to edit colour balance, hue, brightness and contrast, and apply image effects like blurs, and simple drawing tools (I personally use Photoshop both for photo editing and for digital drawing). Illustrator, on the other hand, is more about graphic design (think: logos), creating patterns, precise simple art. I hope this helped!
