What's the Difference Between Anaconda and PyCharm?

Great contrast and comparison - thank you. Not a programmer at all but would like to learn. Work in the Medicaid field in reporting (think: 'old dog' learning new tricks). Since I want to go in the direction of data science, would learning with Anaconda be fine? Or is it 'too much' for the beginner? Thanks again.

Isn't there a free community version of pyCharm. Not sure how crippled it is compared to commercial version but should be a useful IDE

The community version is not crippled at all ,i've used it more than 1000+ hours at work, most people would not even spot the difference between both of them, also you can use anaconda environment with the community edition too..

Most of our comparisons are picked based on volume of searches in Google and TrustRadius.com. There have definitely been some interesting videos as a result (see: NoSQL vs MySQL)

Because there're some Python courses that use Anaconda, while others PyCharm, so for newbies like me, it's a demanding thing to know which one you're going to use for the rest of the course or to select which platform is going to be the most useful according to your goals.
