Thank you so much, been excitingly waiting for this one!!! I'm really interested in shellac (beetle saliva) if you know anything in this area? Or if it is always used?

As a knitter i am resistant to thinking wool is not ideal, i love wool so much. But i so appreciate this lesson! I wonder if different kinda of wools (there are some endangered breads with lower micron counts and textures!) Would achieve similar results or if all wool is destined to be poor hat quality

Are the stetson pinnacle genuine beaver fedora as pliable as a vintage borsalino fur felt fedora? Can the Pinnacle be reshaped without steaming as easy as the borsalino? Thanks.

Any experience with Alpaca fiber, or blends using Alpaca fiber?

All true I guess, but It all depends on what you're intended use is. A thousand dollar beaver felt hat looks great and if that is what you're need (walking the dog, looking prosperous, being able to brag about your hat) then go for it. I have had 2 Bailey Litefelt crushable hats that served me quite well for close to a decade of hiking, hunting, and working. They didn't look half bad either and held their shape well for the abuse they received.

Which hat model are you wearing in this video?

I have noticed a significant difference between beaver and felt hats. Excluding Borsalinos, rabbit fur felts seem to be less smooth than beaver felts. When I rub my hand over the rabbit felt (crown or brim), I can feel the individual rabbit fibers, whereas when I rub my hand over the beaver felt, I cannot feel the individual fibers. Is my experience accurate? Can anyone confirm or disconfirm my experience?
