@@digger5521 Linky ? There seems to be a few bands in each genre that get all the attention, but no always my preference. Like mention post-rock and everyone goes to Mogwai, but give me Explosions in the Sky every day or Paint the Sky Red or God is an Astronaut. I like to hear about the lesser known bands in any given genre. Often where the gold is, though Lorna Shore is dominating death-metal for good reason. Edit - I checked here out, Hatchie is pushin'P

To me Dream Pop was always about opening the space of any given song, whereas Shoegaze desperately tried to fill any space possible.

imo dream pop is just more upbeat and pop-ish still very distorted but just a little less melancholy
