I have always felt that the main difference between Soul and Spirit is this: the Soul is the source of life for the body; when the Soul departs, the body dies. The Spirit is the source of life for the Soul; if the Spirit leaves, the Soul dies (second death).

You explain things so well! I'm so glad she ask the question! Because, I believe you are correct, I believe I get it, anyway? The spirit is perfect, I think. Like you are a soul but you could be an evil soul. If your spiritual ...that is of God, like the SPIRIT of GOD can be in your SOUL but it isn't in every soul. Paul wouldn't have distinguished if there wasn't a difference. There has to be perfectness to be a spirit

(Heb 4:12) The Word of God is sharper than any sword and dividing assunder your body soul and Spirit. Body=Flesh, Soul= mind, will and emotions (also life) Spirit= Spiritual Body The spirit is born again at the salvation by Justification of sins by Jesus on the cross. It happens once and is a gift you cannot loose Now your soul can be saved by Sanctification of the Spirit through Obedience. This salvation is daily and transforms our mind if we continue in repentance, many sufferings and trials. Lastly their remains the salvation of our body by glorification. This happens at either death or rapture. Your glory will vary depending of your sanctification and shining bright if Holy or not shinning bright showing your nakedness stained by sin. Spirit, Soul, Body. = SAVED, being saved, one day will be saved

Your soul contains your personality, your character ,intelect(mind and thought), Your emotions(feelings and passions, Your Will(own will and desires), Conscience (knowledge of right and wrong) It is also a dwelling place for evil spirits, evil and our sinful nature. Through the spirit, we have discernment, we communicate with God through His Holy Spirit, our natural man,bid and soul cannot access God who is a spirit, We can access the true peace only through the spirit,that's why every means and way to get peace through ie drugs, alcohol fails badly. Actually that would be your soul. Soul is your mind and emotions. Spirit is the invisible eternal body that connects us with God. Our flesh is the body our Soul is born with and it's nature opposes the new Spiritual and Holy nature. Our soul must choose die to the fleshly nature and take on divine nature, the nature of God.
